    Hall of Fame: Class 2006

Heenan would work for Perfect. Or Flair. Flair works better for Steamboat, Anderson and Rhodes before Curt, if only for his long history with those three. His legacy with Hening isn't as known and significant. I believe Heenan's perfect as he brings the comedy that will be needed and there's a credible connection with the two. I'd imagine Curt's father, Larry (if he is still alive, im not sure) would accept the award.

    Hall of Fame: Class 2006

These things usually have 2 guys who are actually credible names worth "legend" status and career mid-carders who agree to the legends package. That being said CLASS OF 06 will be Ted Dibiase (Inducted by Shawn) Ricky Steamboat (Inducted by Flair) Arn Anderson (Inducted by Benoit) Dusty Rhodes (Inducted by Dustin) Jim Duggan (Inducted by Slaughter) Rocky Johnson (Inducted by Rock) Mr. Perfect (Posthumus) (Inducted by ?) The Road Warriors (Inducted by Paul Ellering)

  5. That would apply for a lot of #'s but for curiosity sake on that and what happened to #17 a year later... 1988-Bravo *still around a year later* 1989-Tully Blanchard *gone a year later* 1990-Jimmy Snuka *wasn't gone but hardly was around* 1991-Shane Douglas *he was gone* 1992-Jim Duggan *Not sure if he was out of the company but he wasn't a major piece of the puzzle a year later* 1993-Damien Demento *gone* 1994-Bob Holly *He hasn't left yet* 1995-Mabel *still kicking around* 1996-Owen Hart *was still around* 1997- Latin Lover *was a one shot deal* 1998- Goldust *was still there* 1999- Godfahter *still around* 2000- Chyna *still there* 2001- Albert *survived a couple more years* 2002- Albert *survived a couple more years* 2003- Test *Was pretty much gone a year later* 2004- Shelton Benjamin *still here* 2005- Rene Dupree *still employed at the moment but not active on the roster* So 17 hasn't been the best number but it's not neccesarily a career killer.
  6. I have a feeling that Orton wins but Mysterio gets the "eliminates" Triple H spot as glorified compenstation.
  7. I'm pretty interested in tonight's show because there is a slight uncertain sentiment in regards to what will happen tonight. There are three credible and possible winners for tonight (Orton/Rey/HHH),which offers a bit of interest in the show(which it usually fails to obtain). Like LOTC, i have a weird feeling the Angle/Henry match is better then it should ever be.
  8. Are staph infections the 2006 version of the neck injury? Only one month in and it has put Hardy and Joe on the shelf.

    Raw rating

Except for the fact, WWE at it's peak changed the titles(all of them) constantly and the fans followed it well enough. It's not about the amount of title changes but rather keeping the fans interested. The viewers were turned off by JBL and in turn, turned off their tv's. Edge has shown to be at the very least a attractive curiosity as the champion. To compare Edge's run which has only been 3 weeks, but three of obvious increased interest to JBL's abomination of a reign as you called it "debacle" isn't fair. Edge, like JBL is a former tag teamer, who was brought up in the WWE and has tenure but beyond that they aren't similar in any other respects.

    ROH results for 1/27

I was there live and the second half (the final 3 matches) SAVED the show. Ki/Daniels was simply superb, the trios finals was all over the place and the main event was Danielson in perfect heel mode. The CZW stuff, and Cornette's promo were also highlights.
  11. My money is on Lashley having this spot...in fact, it wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility to see him single handedly eliminating Kane, Big Show or even both. I think they'll sacrifice Bobby to Mark Henry again to give both guys something to do once Henry's moved away from the top of the card. Will he eliminate one of those two before then? Possibly, but I still think he'll have less of a run than any of the other hosses on the roster. Having said that, they'll probably let him be one of the final four to spite me. Mark Henry is also participating in the Rumble? I say it's 50/50 that he gets the last SD spot or replaces Booker if he can't work because there's really no benefit to giving it to The Undertaker if he's going to lose. Henry could easily lose a quick match and then get one of the last spots and get his heat back by tossing out a fan favorite or two. Granted that's not likely but you never can tell with the WWE. JBL would be more likely to do that bit rather then Henry.

WWE notes from Da Meltz on Figure Four Daily

Count me in, and it goes triple for Hogan. There is absolutely nothing to this feud. Even the marks have to know by know that Foley only comes back to shill the latest offering of the Mick Foley Corporation and job to whoever. Hogan flat out doesn't job. Neither guy can do shit in the ring anymore, so we're going to have a fat guy and an old guy doing punch punch punch until Hogan hulks up. This match "could be good if done right" in the same way that Hassan's character "could be good if done right." WWE doesn't have the skills or desire to do it right, and probably neither do the participants of the match. Here is the thing, Foley can do it. He is one of the very few people who can and would be allowed to do what he wants and Hogan, as proved by the Shawn program is willing to let someone carry the load for building the program as long as he gains the personal statisfaction of going over. While Hogan/Austin would be a bigger draw, Foley/Hogan would have more offer. This doesn't mean I am endorsing this to occur but WWE will need something big for Mania, they will want to use Hogan because they are desperate right now. Hogan isn't putting anyone over, so if they are going to force us to more Hogan stuff, Foley is the best option as he'll make it mean something and go all out for the match and he isn't damaged by a lost either.

That was Foley stuck in a heat-less feud where he had very little time to do anything with it and Carlito wasn't going to bring it either. Foley, when motivated can make anything work. A program with Hogan at WM would easily motivate Foley and we all know Foley can easily turn that heel switch on and just like Shawn, he'll make it work against Hogan. Will the match be worth anything? Doubtful, even if Foley imitates Shawn and bumps like crazy but it should be an excellent spectacle and quite frankly, it's the only credible "MONEY" match left for WWE to use since Austin won't be able to work Hogan for right now. Foley also brings something to the table to match Hogan, moderate mainstream credibility. While Foley isn't as known as Hogan is, Foley does have a credible stamp with his name thanks to his status in WWE during it's peak and for his work outside the wrestling business.
  14. Shawn has been #1, twice now. It was a big hyped aspect of the 2003 rumble so even WWE knows it's been over-done. In fact if Vince is trying to lure Shawn over to "the dark side" (or whatever it was), assisting him in getting #30 makes more sense. Masters fits #30 more then anyone else does. Look at the history of #30's, they tend to be big hosses. (Tugboat, Warlord, Adam Bomb, Crush, Droese, Taker, Vader, Chyna, Rikishi, 'Taker, Goldberg). So yeah, Masters has that whole hoss thing going for him and it fits his character to be #30 and for us, he has less time in the ring. While Carlito, who can bump could last 15-20 minutes bumping around.
  15. Just for kicks, anyone have order of entry predictions? Here's mine Carlito Chavo Guerrero Simon Dean Animal Trevor Murdoch Sylvan Viscera Super Crazy The Coach Kane Rey Mysterio Johnny Nitro Psicosis Chris Benoit Joey Mercury Rob Van Dam Booker T Ric Flair Shawn Michaels Shelton Benjamin Triple H ?? Randy Orton Bobby Lashley The Undertaker ?? The Big Show Orlando Jordan Matt Hardy Chris Masters ??=The un-announced raw names.

Wasn't Edge & Christian Pepsi marks back in the Foley as Commish days? RC Cola, actually.

    Backstage news on CM Punk

Punk is a legit 6' . Unlike Carlito, Punk has great skill inside the ring and he can out-promo pretty much the entire WWE roster. Of course that doesn't matter in WWE. Everyone loves Punk, he has been praised by Steamboat, Race, Heyman, Cornette but as long as Triple H and Shawn see him as threat, Stephanie will make sure he doesn't go anywhere.

    Worst Indy Show Names

It's simple and directly to the point. That's the drawing point of the show, simply giving it that title emphasizes the importance of it. It's only happened twice with Ring of Honor (naming a show after the main event workers), so it's not common which allows it to stand out, placing a larger sense of importance. That or they didn't want confusion when fans went to buy the dvd/video containing the match and wanted them to directly find it.

    Wrestling's Top 50 Matches

I like this, good concept and good execution of short but detailed reasoning. Although I must say Joe/Kobashi is severely low-rated here so I'm really curious to see what places ahead of it.
  20. I hardly say a random internet poster making a statement without any source material is leaking. However, this didn't stop them from changing the WM4 result which had a similar situation.
  21. Mark Henry really is a cancer.

    Super Bowl XL

It's playing off the "road warrior" mentality the Steelers have adopted. ESPN is just waiting for some idiot on the Seahawks to say something stupid and that'll get the ball rolling.
  23. Didn't the Rumble used to be planned out in such detail by Patterson? Now, it's a 5 days before the show and they dont even know where they want to go. Just draw a name out of a hat and go with it.

    Kobe or LeBron

Why is this even being compared? One guy has 9 years in the game while the other is still a young kid with only a couple seasons under his belt. A better comparison/debate would be... Duncan Vs Kobe LeBron Vs Wade
