I asked this question in the other thread but since the first week is about setting up the hype, it fits to ask this again take your picks right now on what becomes the media story of the next two weeks? A). Bettis playing final game in home-town B). Hasselbeck's hot sister-in-law C). Cower's "SBXXX" redemption D). Holmgreen winning it without Favre E). How many different ways to spell Big Ben's last name wrong F). How cold Detroit is
-
Quite frankly, if they dont do Benoit/Albright or Albright/Regal I will be disapointed.
-
As a Eagles "fan", can you honestly root for Pittsburgh? Dama hates for no reason. Me, for some reason I would seriously hate to see Seattle get a title before Philly. Besides, I like Bettis and want to see him get a ring. I think the complete lack of interesting personalities and Shaun's total arrogant stand-offish attitude and zero star power combined with the popularity of Big Big and the fairy tale story of Bettis in his home town, makes Pittsburgh the obvious national "favorite".

SpikeTV Cancels TNA Monday Night Special In February
Hawk 34 replied to QuestionMan's topic in TNA Wrestling
That sounds like Goldberg to me. However, I don't think it is Goldberg. Quite frankly this is good for TNA, they weren't ready at all for this. If they can't get over 1.0 yet, they aren't going to suddenly compete against WWE just because WWE is off-air that night. -
Who would even say that? I think you're just being silly here. When almost all of the so called football analysts say they'd take him over Brady or Peyton right now because he's supposedly the best leader in the sport all of a sudden, and the whole hype last year about starting his regular season career like 13-0 before being exposed in the playoffs, I'd say his praise got beyond absurd very quickly. Let's remember that Kurt Warner was statistically up there as "the greatest QB ever" for about three years and then was washed up shortly thereafter after an injury. Lastly, Big Ben goes by his first name because only Steelers fans know how to spell his last name. and Miami of Ohio students. It's required to know how to spell his name correctly to graduate.

I thought we were talking about a potential match for NWO. I really don't see what the hell Bret Hart has to do with the topic at hand. We're not talking the 1996 Undertaker who actually gave a shit, we're talking about the slow, plodding, "I'm not feelin' it" Undertaker of today who only shows fire when someone like Matt Hardy dares to avoid taking a chokeslam. That Undertaker who put on his best match of his career was just 2 years ago and he has hardly changed in ability, but rather desire and since he has been stuck with shoddy dance partners the last two years (Kane, Orton, JBL, Hassan, Booker T and Heidenreich), of course he isn't going to be motivated. He's proven to be capable of working a good straight up match with good talent on the other side. Kurt Angle is the kind of guy who can (and has) get something out of the Undertaker, when he's motivated. That's the point. There's a lot of sentiment that says this match will suck, despite past history proving that Undertaker is capable of working a good non-gimmick match. Kurt Angle is one of those examples.

What you have against Ben? *BTW, is there any other qb who goes by his first name more then his last name as much as Ben does?*
-
How much worse has Taker been since that point? How awful are the bulk of his matches when you don't get to add in superfluous weapon shots? I'm not sure how someone is supposed to wrestle Muhammad Hassan and Randy Orton for eight months and have *good* matches. Hell, just thank God that Mania was as good as it was. Can we not act like Undertaker is Chris Benoit? If he's not in some sort of overbooked gimmick match it's going to suck regardless of his opponent. I don't recall those **** matches with Bret and Angle being overbooked gimmick matches. The man can work a good straight match with someone worth a shit but since his whole career has been puddled with shitty hosses/monsters and big gimmicky matches, he hasn't had those chances as often.

Why would the crowd in SC care about the Panthers when they are based out of North Carolina, unless I am missing something here. I guess Coach assumed all of Carolina (north and south) has an interest in the Carolina Panthers whom are playing in the NFC title game right now. Maybe SC does care about the Panthers, I just figured they wouldn't since they aren't from the same state. Thats like saying people in Rhode Island don't care about the Patriots because they play in Foxboro. Carolina panthers represent the carolinas. Otherwise it would be the Charlotte Panthers.

Um, ouch.

Am I the only one disapointed in the lack of snow in Denver? It looks like it's summertime out there.
-
People insist on thinking that it was a fluke good match and that the 2000 stuff was an accurate telling of what they can do together. First impressions, I guess.
-
Angle was an average wrestler at best until 2001, and Taker was during his dark period from 1998-2002. Their later stuff is much better. Not to mention that match in particular was a complete glorified squash.
-
Benoit has had some crummy tights the last couple of years but this version is complete garbage.
-
It looks like he is going back to WCW look. Which I like.
-
Anyways, sticking to the purpose of the thread it's safe to assume they will likely add in two more matches to the show and I'll say it's a woman's title match and perhaps either a CW title match or a WWE Tag Title match.

MTV is starting a wrestling promotion
Hawk 34 replied to GreatWhiteNope's topic in General Wrestling
Zero? He has a WWE contract, and is wrestling in OVW. He's suppose to be getting called up soon. Why would'nt MIZ be featured on the MTV wrestling show afterall he is on every damn Real World spinoff. I would't mind seeing a diva catfight of Ashley Simpson vs Avil. I guess that whole having a contract with WWE thing doesnt mean anything. If you have a contract with WWE, chances are they won't let you work for another wrestling promotion. I remember hearing about this a few weeks ago but I assumed it was a reality show of sorts, following young wrestlers around. Delirious+New Jack is comedy gold anyways. -
Denver 16 Pittsburgh 10 Seattle 29 Carolina 34

You just know this will prompt talk, if Kobe/LeBron and Mike K work well together during the games about how much "better" Kobe and LeBron would have been if they played college. You can almost place money on this, it will be a sub-story that the networks will try to push.

Does anybody think WWE is destroying Shelton Benjamin's career?
Hawk 34 replied to Wrestlefreak's topic in The WWE Folder
Lance Storm. I think he has charisma but the general thought is that he lacks it. -
You have to factor in that the only match they promoted at all was Vince vs. Hogan. You also can't do that. They haven't done either. That was my point, loading a card with attractive matches for the sake of having them on the card isn't going to draw anything, but if you give the fans a reason to care and make it mean something and put out a over-all strong card, the fans will buy it. WMXIX argueably had a better set of main events then WMXXI but no one cared because it meant nothing.
