People brought Shawn and Eddie as champion...and Eddie only had a couple inches over Reyand Rey has more mass then Shawn does. Did you see Shawn/Rey last year? If not, Shawn looked like a relative giant standing next to Rey and he's one of the smallest ME's/champs of all time. I can't buy a guy who is a legit 5'4 as the Heavyweight Champion of the World no matter what he does when 90% of the roster is well over 6 feet and 50-100 pounds heavier than he is. Sorry. Mike Tyson was often dwarfed in the ring in terms of size but no one every doubted his credibility or discredited him as a non-threat. If a man who is drastically shorter then the rest of the field in a legitimate sport can be considered a lethal threat, it only requires a smart hype machine to push someone who is small in stature in a worked environment.

Yeah, but the day after Mania (MAYBE Judgment Day) all the interesting angles for Kurt on SD! are used up. This is where having a plan and being a competent company would benifit WWE and Angle for once...Batista should be back around early summer so there's your summer program for Smackdown. Just re-hash Benoit for an extra couple months and they can ride it out until the next booking pattern. Honestly, if they have to drag out a feud for filler, I'd rather it be the Rey feud or maybe a Taker feud. I love the Angle vs. Benoit matches, but and this is just me, but when Benoit gets into a multi-month feud with someone (Angle in 01, Angle in 02, HHH in 04, to an extent the Booker and Jordan feuds last year) as the feud moves on, the matches get better, but the feud itself gets really gimmicky, silly and stupid. He just doesn't have the personality to be feuding with one guy for three months and keep it fresh. Or better yet, start building new people up. They have proven that they can get someone over if they push them had enough. It's only a matter of pushing the right person.

Well, first off 1/4 of this board are proclaimed Patriots fans (although that'll drop as we know how fickle "fans" are once their "team" is no longer the top dog) and because the networks love to get on their knees for Indy. NE earned that by winning 3 titles, Indy goes 13-3(or 14-2?) and scores a bunch of points...that's not worthy of praise. Earn it first Indy, so far all they have done is blow it in the playoffs. Along with the fact, most people want mindless hype or good hype for the SB...and not cheesy sympathic hype for Dungy's son.

I really want Denver to win because I can't stomach 2 weeks of "Oh, that poor Dungy family" hype.

It's not like he was going to struggle to make a living working for TNA and the indies but I believe that Matt honestly thought this angle would make him a star and that WWE would capitalize on his "over-ness". Matt was dreaming of seeing his name on the marquee rather then being realistic and knowing he wasn't going anywhere because they spent 3 years doing nothing with him and he expected a major push and to obtain a lofty status in the company because he was getting chants. Matt wanted more money obviously but the tease of being a big star within the promotion also drove him to his decision. WWE won't fire him now, they aren't losing anything by jobbing him out and humilating him on routine basis (other then losing a potential star for the company). I have a feeling they will go back and forth and we're going to hear these reports for the better part of 2006. It'll be no different then RVD.

The press and espn have to be trembling in fear of a Seattle Vs Denver SB. Who plays in the superbowl never really bothers the ratings or the fans really, but it's the two weeks of needless hype that the networks love and there's nothing in a Seattle/Denver game. Denver was underlooked and everyone (myself included) wrote them off because Jake Plummer isn't John Elway and everyone wanted that "dream" re-match with Indy and NE.

Don't write the Patriots off yet, it's only two scores away. This is what they do. I'm sure Adam V will be making yet another "incredible" game winning kick. edit: okay, that missed kick is basically fate going "thats enough boys, pack it up".
