Ring of Honor Weekend (Dayton and Chicago-PPV)
Hawk 34 replied to Hawk 34's topic in General Wrestling
I attended each show this weekend. I'll give some thoughts later. -
No. It's pretty much presented in a realistic fashion. From what the original script showed, they acknowledge how the business is worked and Randy "The Ram" Robinson doesn't work his way back to the top in a typical movie format.

Results 1. Brent Albright defeats Davey Richards (Good opener) *Nigel declares the three way match is now a non-title match* 2. GO Shiozaki defeated Rhett Titus, Sami Callahan and Grizzly Redwood 3. Briscoes defeats Irish Airborne (Absolute squash and Mark appears to have yet another injury) 4. Lights Out match ruled a No Contest via mass interference from SnS Inc. 5. Steen and Generico defeat Jacobs and Delirious (poor match) 6. Danielson defeats Castagnoli with small package (Claudio destroys Danielson after the match with chair) 7. Austin Aries defeats Tyler Black and Nigel McGuinness -
It will be a sad day when McMahon starts feeding lines to Striker.

Steve Lewington is now a Alex Wright clone?

JYD was inducted in 2004. I'd imagine the list would include the Von Erich Family. Perhaps Barry Windham as well.

On his honeymoon and selling the Orton Kick of Doom from two weeks ago.
-
Bad time to take a defeat.
-
Another QB injury for the Bearcats. Pike is out and Grutza will return.
-
Actually, he's the 5th string QB. It's Pike, Collaros, Anderson, Grutza, Jones.
-
Grutza. He was injured during the Oklahoma game. Tony Pike is the primary QB for Cincinnati. He was also injured during the season and was replaced by Chazz Anderson for a couple weeks.

Leading ladies of Gossip Girl and the writer of the very popular Twilight book series. Downey Jr. is a logical choice given his success with two popular movies this year.

It probably won't even be Matt Hardy's best match this week as well. It was a good TV main event.

WWE has many "WM Moments" for the highlight reel and just because they can't show that particular moment again doesn't mean they need to manufacture a synthetic version.

What merchandise does he move? He's never around What kid wouldn't want this? It glows in the dark!

Looks like they'll stick to all three brands represented on a team. I figure the other Elimination Match will be something along the lines of Batista, Punk, Kingston, Jeff and Matt Hardy/R-Truth (depends if they want to do a ECW title match) Vs Orton, Rhodes, Dibiase, Shelton Benjamin and Brian Kendrick/Mark Henry

Add Shawn and Rey to the face side and JBL to join the heels. Perhaps take Manu out for Regal or Kane.
-
If they are going to be in the Los Angeles area, they would probably use the Home Depot Center instead.
-
That might explain his absence. More likely it's because he shouldn't be on the show a week after being a recipient of the Orton Kick of Death.
-
Do they have a back-up plan for when Hall no-shows or isn't in condition to appear on PPV? Of course they don't.
-
Yes. They should make GAB or Summer Slam into an outdoor event. It doesn't have to be a 70k+ stadium, there are many college stadiums and other general outdoor venues that can accomodate a good sized crowd for a non-WM wrestling event. Weather is always a tricky aspect but it is something that can be worked around. It used to be quite commonplace for promotions to do outdoor events and WWE should resume that.

Glad to see Role Models have a good weekend, it was a pretty good movie.

Gabe booked DQ's and Count-outs before, so this isn't a brand new course of action in ROH. It's not like the main event resulted in a DQ, just a throwaway title match. If the whole show was countouts and dq's, then there is a legit reason for an outcry but not with just one match.
