    ECW 2/5/2008

I love Punk's tribute to Ace Steel. Gulf of Mexico Match is awesome. Random people fishing, Chavo's flying sell of the GTS into the water, Chavo falling on the camera man. Good stuff.

I'm a mark for outside the building fights.

I'm hoping they have the GoM Match on a boat. Chavo just points out that he doesn't have his own t-shirt. The ECW Champion has the same wardrobe as Tommy Dreamer.

Curtis is the Barry Horowitz of ECW and I might be overstating it but Kofi is the Koko B. Ware of ECW.

Gulf Coast of Mexico Match? Yup, Dusty is booking.

    ECW 2/5/2008

It's a brand name. Just like Smackdown and RAW. For people to still be bothered by that after a year and a half is ridiculous. Vince could have used the WCW name if he wanted to. Would people complain about the lack of cruiser weight action, celebrities and 2 minute main events ending with 10 minute beat downs and poses? ECW isn't designed to be a top show and that's perfectly fine. It's a showcase show for young talent like Punk, Burke, Morrison, etc, etc as well as a playground for other less used talents. It's been a perfectly passable and at times quality hour of television that has a purpose and effectively hits on their intentions. Something that can't be said about Raw on a consistent basis.

WWE Hall of Fame Candidates 2008

Take a look at these names Tito Santana, Orton Jr, George Steele, Greg Valentine and Tony Atlas just for starters. Lifelong tag-team/mid-card acts. How is Owen less qualified? I'm not bothered by who gets placed into a fictional HOF but Owen's just as qualified as those aforementioned names.

Well, if Arn is going in as well like I supposed, that wouldn't be the case. Most likely HHH inducts Flair.

    Dexter

Dexter is a really strange show to toss over to broadcast television. They'll have to cut 10-12 minutes per episode, won't they?

WWE Hall of Fame Candidates 2008

They should just make the 08' Class centered around The 4 Horseman (Flair, Arn, Windham, Tully, Ole and Dillion to be exact). Toss in a posthumous name like Rude or Pillman, a tag team such as Road Warriors or Demolition, Solie and Sunny since she was first true "diva" of the WWE (Miss Elizabeth was a valet and she does deserve a spot but I can't see them draging her story back out). I would also throw in Funk but I'd save him for when they do a WM in Texas again. Who inducts who?
  11. *Dayton is a interesting show as TNA will be having a house show 10 minutes away at the same time. Considering the similar fanbases of each promotion, it's a good little gauge for TNA as well as ROH. Dayton 1.25 ROH World Title Steel Cage Chris Hero w/ Larry Sweeney and SNS Inc. Dexter

I'm late to the party but I finished watching both seasons. I’m not so sure that I am captivated by any other television show right now as I am for Dexter. I can’t say it’s a perfect show but its damn close. I really enjoyed Michael C. Hall in Six Feet Under but his portrayal of Dexter Morgan is riveting and brilliant as any television character has ever been. The supporting cast also plays such a crucial role to the quality of this show. The tension and build for the final stretch of episodes in the previous season was spine-tingling. I really wanted to see Doakes survive, just like everyone else here but it couldn’t happen. The exploration into Dexter’s mind and the measured precautions and reasoning for his actions blew me away with each passing episode. I’m not quite sure I can finger a “weak” episode. They all flowed so perfectly with very, very few hiccups. I’m very excited for Season 3.

ESPN sucks, so do thread closers

ESPN2 has been showing them for the past couple of days. They dropped doing every single game and stuck with the games with NE and NY as well as the more famous/popular games.

WWE General Discussion - February 2008

Politics... If Jeff Hardy was on SD! he'd most likely be a world champion by now. Over Batista and UT? Sure. It's more likely hurdle to leap then HHH/Cena. Does it seem like WWE gave up on making Taker-Edge into something big by doing the paint by numbers plot that they are doing? Edge should be begging for UT at WM and not bothering with Chavo-Punk-Rey. After Edge returned at Survivor Series, it appeared as if that match could have been a huge deal and now it really feels like just another match where Edge will undoubtly run from UT every single week and try to screw him out of the match just like every other WM match with 'Taker.

    No Way Out

But this is like the best NWO card ever. It'll be hard to top 2001's version.
  19. This is a pretty simple set-up. You make your predictions based off the below list and each question is assigned a point value. The level of difficulty and randomness will gauge the value of the answer. Whoever collects the most points is the winner of this and the prize is the greatest of them all, nothing. Not even pride. Here are the questions. 1. Who will win the 2008 Royal Rumble? (2 pts.) 2. Who will be the runner-up? (3 pts.) 3. Who will be the iron-man? (5 pts.) 4. Who will have the shortest time? (5 pts.) 5. Who will have the most eliminated opponents? (3 pts.) 6. Who will draw #1 and #2 (3 pts each, 3 bonus for accurately naming both) 7. Who will draw the most successful winning entry of #27? (5 pts.) 8. Who will draw the #30 spot? (5 pts.) 9. What will be the eventual winning #? (5 pts) 10. Will there be any surprise/unannounced entrants? (No point value), If yes, who will they be? (3 pts. each) 11. Will the endurance record of 62:12 set by Mysterio be broken? (No point value), If so, what will the new record be? (Closest to the supposed new record gets 10 pts). 12. The final six men eliminated will compete in the second chance Elimination Chamber next month, who will those people be? (3 pts. each, 10 pts bonus for accurately naming all) 13. How many instances of interference by non-active competitors will we see? (3 pts.) 14. How many people will Hornswoggle eliminate? (3 pts.) 15. Will anyone bleed? (no point value), if so, who? (2 pts) Good luck.

    Raw Is Cena - January 28, 2008

Orton could just as easily make another comment about being the best thing to ever come out of Evolution during a interview at NWO and Batista just so happens to be in the area and refutes that claim. There's your set up to Orton-Batista, whom are both otherwise left in the dark for WM.

    The 2008 Royal Rumble Thread

Batista took a spike from Umaga and rolled out of the ring and apparently laid on the floor for a good amount of time. In other words, he Backlund's it. Do you remember when this was? I'm just curious. As an aside, the Rumble is pretty hard to follow live. I missed Snitsky's elimination as well, and no one in the live crowd understood what happened with Finlay. It was during the Finlay confusion. Looking back, Batista really spent a lot of time in the corner with Umaga during the match. They really should have had the angry black dudes toss Hornswoggle and have them chase him around the ring with Finlay flying in and jumping over the rope to save him. Would have worked just the same without a illogical DQ.
  22. I just hope this means the end of Todd Grisham.

    The Royal Rumble Prediction Game

I was wrong about Santino. Benjamin lasted less time in the ring, adjust your scores accordingly.

    The 2008 Royal Rumble Thread

Hunter was standing right in middle of the ring, thus Cena would naturally be looking at him. Kennedy, storyline wise, had nothing to do with Cena's injury. The credit went to Orton. Also, Cena didn't square off with HHH right away. Henry threw HHH down as Cena got into the ring. HHH's reaction to Cena was fantastic. Also, Batista had one of the quietest iron-man runs in history until the ring when he suddenly got in the picture. It seems as if he laid on the floor for awhile via Umaga's spike.
