WWE General Discussion - January 2008

Chicks don't like guys that scream from their fathers. Every kid gets the threatening father, every kid knows that going in. -
They need to do something with Benjamin soon. Any of these scenarios would work well. What do you mean, "do something"? They have been pushing him towards a title chase by squashing people left and right as well as broadcasting his intention to win the world title. It's one of the rare occurancies that Benjamin had a direction in his career.

Not to give credit to Yuna's idiocy, but as a recent comparison, Renfro died of an overdose and had a pretty documented history of abuse and the coverage properly reflected that. Ledger, doesn't have a documented history of drug use and the circumstances are still unclear. That doesn't mean he didn't have abuse problem but since there isn't a history, you can't go straight to that assumption until more facts come out.

Well, this will be in somebody's sig before the day's over. I'm curious if The Dark Knight will be viewed in the same way the Crow will, what with it being Brandon Lee's last film, though granted the connection between that film and his death is much more strong than Ledger's with TDK, if one even really exists. Ledger already had a pretty impressive career at the time of his death, Lee was still breaking into the business. If it weren't for the fact they were both young male actors and their last finished role was in a comic book movie, no comparisons would ever be made.

Mary Kate .... WTF?!?! Yeah pills were there. I'm just saying that whenever a celeb dies, the thought is, usually, drugs or alcohol or partying. Pills couldve been someone Else's for all we know - or sleeping pills - or a plant by some killer. My theory is a serial killer; too many coincidences between Heaths' death and Renfro's. Stop it. Stop what? I can have theories too, same as anyone. There are no theories here. Just bullshit idiotic blithering psychobabble from someone who has a track record of saying ridiculous things. Both of the deaths between Renfro and Ledger are unrelated and the very notion of a pill planting celebrity murderer is one of the most insane comments ever made.

None of the talking heads called him a legend, but what he was, this isn't posthumous glorification, he was a talented young actor.
-
Now, Mary-Kate Olsen is connected. That's just what this story needed. Edit: Yuna, no one jumped to drugs. Drugs were found on the scene.

Usually in these cases, you're not really shocked. This is a true shock.

As far as the trophy itself? Stanley Cup, hands down. Q: If you could assemble your "dream team" of announcers/pre game/sideline reporters for whichever sport, who would they be? -
Who squashes Colin to earn a spot in the Rumble? Hell, I want Colin in the Rumble. Let him break Mysterio's record by getting crushed by everyone.

Michael Clayton was good, Cabbage. Go see the movie before you keep ranting about it based off critic reviews, have your own opinion. Bob, good call on Tamblyn. I don't know if that was just a fandom pick or genuine feeling but it was a good performence. In fact, I thought Swinton was better in that movie then she was in Clayton. Is Ruby Dee dying? That was a strange pick. Holbrook already had the old timer nod locked up. A good amount of people got fucked on that especially Garner and Keener.
-
HHH should have just wrote a internet column, that would've saved him so much time and effort.
-
You must have been in a theater with idiots. Clayton was fantastic.
-
"Most overrated" actually means most overpushed. Same with "Most Underrated". Why they don't call it like that, I'll never understand.
-
At least he got someone from the same period. That's good for JR.
-
Randy "Scum" Orton?
-
How does the old footage look in HD?
-
Eugene Levy and Sam Jackson did a movie together and earth remained mostly intact.
-
You don't think Daniel Day Lewis will be even nominated? Really? I think Best Picture'll be between Atonement, Juno, No Country For Old Men, Sweeney Todd, There Will Be Blood. People are saying Michael Clayton, but I just don't see it. Man, that was a total mis-write from me. I had him on my original sheet and then when I went to re-type it, I deleted it and actually forgot him and added Gosling since he was the only name coming to my mind. That'll be changed.
-
I thought "There Is Only One" was dropped? Either way, horrible cover.
-
Did they get two separate sets or will they travel the set to each taping? Edit: Nevermind, given that each tapings are usually in close proximity, I'd imagine it's silly to get separate sets. Will the PPVs use the same?

I'd mark if Foley did all 3 personalitys. They did that in 1998 because it was relevant and because of the lack of depth. Either would be in question here. If Charlie could get the gimmick over, it'd be a cute spot but as it stands, it'd be a waste. It's Foley, it doesn't have to make sense. Foley would do it just for the cheap pop/laugh. Plus I really miss the Cactus Jack music. You'd want to waste three spots that could be served to other talents as well as angles, to do something that was done 10 years ago and wouldn't get much of an cheap pop. The crowd loved the 3 Faces of Foley, in 1998. Doing it in 2008 is overkill.
-
He's still selling the injury and they have been teasing that he might not recover in time for Sunday.
-
They could still have Charlie get thrown out and he comes right back in with the mask. Whoever eliminated him in the first place would promptly toss out again for good measure. That way you get the spot and you don't waste an entry.
