I take back what I said about White making a Heisman statement. That pitch fumble gives Cincy a chance to get the game within reach and that's exactly what UC does.
-
White is making a statement for the Heisman by carrying WVU tonight.
-
When the season is over. Most teams, especially in the Big Ten will have a good idea of where they'll be very soon thanks to locked conference bids.
-
Ben Mauk, is not only the QB for Cincinnati now but also the punter. That should be interesting.
-
I'm happy for the Indiana team, good for them.
-
I needed a easy win here and I got it. It's nice not to scoreboard watch. Looks like I'll draw Rutgers next week, who handed me (I believe) my first lost this season by a single point.
-
It hasn't happened yet but talks are going on. On one hand, if it keeps the show around and ESPN agrees to not touch/ruin it, I'll be happy since cable ratings expectations aren't as high as networks. The thing is, I don't trust ESPN. HERE

I'd rather see this.. Matt competes at Survivor Series but the heels destroy him and he's quickly take out. They do a injury angle, forcing Matt to miss Armageddon. Jeff steps up and offers to take care of MVP for his brother, but not for the title because that belongs to Matt. Jeff wants to do it for the family. MVP gets Dqd but tries to take Jeff out. Matt, on crutches, hops down to the ring and runs MVP off. They set a match up at NYR for Matt/MVP. Matt aggravates the injury and the match doesn't really take place. Then it's the Rumble. MVP draws a low number (let's say #6) and they do the spot where MVP is the only guy in the ring and the countdown gets going and out comes Matt Hardy (unannounced to be in the match) to a likely big pop. MVP quickly leaps over the ropes (eliminating himself in the process). Matt chases him through the crowd (Matt never gets in the ring). MVP escapes via car. Matt returns to the ring. At the end of the rumble, or near it at least, MVP sneak attacks Hardy and eliminates him. They brawl into the back. MVP refuses to grant Matt a title match since he has been inactive for nearly 2 months, but Vickie (or whomever runs SD by then) grants Matt a shot to earn it by teaming with his brother against MVP and his partner. Matt and Jeff win but we get very limited Matt/MVP in the ring. That leads right to the huge US title match.

Smackdown wouldn't need to "send" anyone over. ECW/Smackdown have a merger, which means both groups are a collective unit. That's a great idea to blow the first one on one showdown with Matt and MVP after months of build-up in a unhyped tag match. It's really quite brilliant. Matt needs to be eliminated quickly to put over the injury and continue to build the title match. Jeff going over MVP to avenge Matt's injury or MVP trying to put Jeff on the shelf would be better and more logical (even by WWE standards) then to have Matt beat MVP when he has a injury. Even doing the countout spot with MVP is better, although that spot should be reserved for HHH so he doesn't have to job and can still set up the next program with either Kennedy, Finlay or BDV. You want Edge all over this show, don't you? Why not have Edge lay out Punk and take the ECW title while he's at it. I don't think they'll bother to do anything about the unfinished Kane/Edge deal right off the bat. It'll come into play during the WM build.

With that real life theory, just getting back dropped or DDT'd should be cause for quitting.

God damn. Kelly murdered the fucking ball. I think he would have cleared 70 yards with that. Nevada coach=idiot. They could have have 40+ seconds left and instead tried to be cute and gave his players nothing to work with. He deserved to lose that game.
-
Like Dixon last night, Hawaii is getting killed by their star QB being on the sidelines. BTW, where do we stand with Heisman Award right now? Unless someone has a major game in the next couple of weeks, does anyone really look deserving of it?
-
Is the IMAX version worth seeing?
-
If they could find a way to stretch that to WM, It'll be quite impressive. I don't think they can without losing steam, so I'll just say for Royal Rumble instead.

The Divas match isn't survivor rules, just a standard tag match (a good call). Randy Orton Vs HBK -If anything, this match will set up for the final match probably at Armageddon. Shawn will probably bleed for show and the match will be pedestrian stuff. Batista Vs Undertaker -The probable match of the night, although it doesn't face heavy competition in that regard. I could see the outcome going either way. This should be the final chapter since it will occur in the cell. I'll call for the Edge return with the interference by spearing each men (after his dramatic chainsaw entrance) but doesn't directly result in the finish. Undertaker finishes the job with a definitive tombstone. This would start the march to WM. CM Punk Vs Miz Vs Morrison CM Punk gets another no question about it PPV defense. This should be final chapter in Punk's involvement with Morrison and Miz. Finlay would be the first guy on the list. Traditional Rules Match HHH/Jeff/Kane/Mysterio/Matt Vs Umaga/Kennedy/BDV/MVP/Finlay Assuming Matt isn't written out (storyline wise) after Smackdown and replaced by a returning Lashley or even a surprise addition from CM Punk (to kick start that feud with Finlay), I'll call for Matt to be favoring the knee and eliminated quickly by a heel onslaught. Followed with a Kane pin on BDV. Umaga pins Kane. HHH pins Kennedy. HHH pins Umaga. Umaga and HHH brawl, HHH gets counted out. Finlay cheats to pin Mysterio. Finlay gets flash-pinned by Jeff thanks to Mysterio. Jeff avenges his brother's injury with a pin over MVP. Jeff Hardy-sole survivor Hornswoggle-Khali Standard shit comedy bit. They might spoof Montreal for Vince's amusement. Who really cares about any of this? 10 Divas Tag Match Someone (likely Mickie or Maria) gets a flash pin on Beth. Beth lays out her entire team afterwards. Cade and Murdoch Vs Holly and Rhodes -A pointless match that has zero meaning. Cade and Murdoch win with miscommunication from the faces to establish Rhodes' being a rookie.

I was really happy they managed to avoid a freefall with the Landry situation. This season has been fantastic and with a couple of exceptions, the writing as well as the performences have improved even greater. I really hope FNL doesn't move to ESPN as reports have claimed, even if it'll keep the show around. I can't help but think ESPN would ruin it.
-
It's not as if it's his claim to fame. The man was a tremendous broadcaster that was dearly beloved by a large community. That's what he should be remembered for (and will), not some ultimately meaningless stat/trivia question.

16 teams would be a mess. You don't need Clemson playing for the rights to claim the national title. No more then 8 teams. Six conference champions and two at-large spots. If a conference champion fails to meet certain standards, they get pushed out for another at-large. The logistics of 16 team playoff is a mess with schools and the strict restrictions many must adhere to. I honestly don't think we need a playoff anymore. I can't be convinced that a rigid 8-16 team format would be more exciting then the drama of multiple teams facing win or die situations throughout the season. Edit: Let me clarify. I won't be against the prospect of a playoff system being implemented for college football. I'm not a traditionalist who refuses to let go of the bowl system (I'm not really concerned what happens to the historic Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl or the prestigious Meineke Car Care Bowl). I question the ability to formulate a system that would be advantageous to the teams, host sites and most importantly, the fans while producing quality and a sense of legitimacy.
-
Just to play devil's advocate, isn't the uncertainty of the next three weeks and all the scenarios that surround it, a playoff itself?
-
Although completely improbable in a realistic situation, it would have to be cattle mutilation.

Ridiculous new rules for wrestling in Georgia
Hawk 34 replied to Jingus's topic in General Wrestling
There were like 4 things I did agree on (Doctor/EMT requirement, card change announcement, no under 18 year old working, crowd brawling) but the rest was great for a laugh. I'm shocked they didn't list "mandatory drug screening" and "background checks" as a ruling. -
I cared! I just figured no one else did and didn't bother to mention. I might consider a trip to Toronto or Mobile, depending where they end up bowling

While it wasn't a surprise given the recent news of his worsening condition, it's still quite sad for anyone that grew up listening to him call a baseball the way it was meant to be called (a fading form in this modern era of broadcasters). He wasn't just a great broadcaster, he was a great guy that truly loved the game.

Let it go. That has zero relevance, it happened, move on.
