http://forums.thesmartmarks.com/index.php?...mp;hl=contracts Unfortunately there are no contract lengths. Does just the figures work?

    The OAO WWE DVD Thread

I don't know where to ask so I put it out here. WWE UMD's. Are they the full length videos including extras or is it just the documentary? I'm trying to figure out if the Bret Hart UMD is just the documentary or if it includes the all the extra matches. Reading around on google, I found that some UMD's just have the documentary and some have the documentary and a few matches only. Anyone help me out?
  3. Why is the UK WWE Tagged Classics DVD's allowed to remain in tact? No WWF blurring or censoring. I'd like to know why that's allowed but the North American WWE DVD's continue to get slaughtered.

    OAO 5/12 Raw Thread

Things are a little busy right now due to the PPV build. I'd expect him to return at the PPV or next week, maybe a couple extra weeks for good measure. That's kind of what I expect. The WWE would just be plain stupid to bring him back with no match and a ppv to hype. Then again, this is the WWE.

Disappointed in the lack of matches for 3 discs, but I guess they are focusing on other things for this set.

Ashley Massaro Linked to Escort Service

You know, looking at this, has anyone ever made it out alive and ok after their playboy shoots? 99 - Sable. Left the company months after in a dispute. 00 - Chyna. Got frustrated with the company, left after contract talks, has become a mess since. 03 - Torrie. Did manage for a while, but took a bad bump that may leave her back in pain for the rest of her life. 05 - Christy. Was released within a year, had no future with the company 06 - Candace. Seems to be getting hurt a lot lately. Career is in doubt right now. 07 - Ashley - Currently in trouble. Has had some problems in the past. Hopefully Maria can break this or she'll be unemployed within a year, judging by the other's past.

If anything, they can just kayfabe this and bring back the Godfather full time and let Ashley run with this gimmick. It's not too far fetched because of the way she dresses to come aboard the ho train.

If this leads to a heel turn, well......... I really don't know what to say. As least when Coachman turned heel, that was sort of funny. This? Eh...

    Random Thoughts 3-27-08 to 5-28-08

I think Lashley vs. Hayes could be a decent match it they were ever to book it. It wouldn't be the worst thing the WWE has done.
  14. So during the Monday Night War era, the Wrestling audience was pretty inflated. But, for most longtime fans, they recognized that the ratings were not reflective of actual fans. There were new fans, non-wrestling fans, etc. who joined in watching each week. As we stand today in 2008, the numbers are definately not the same, and we only have one mainstream company left and one up and coming one. So this begs the question, where did these fans come from? What drew them to Raw or Nitro? I'm trying to figure out if there was one specific star fans tuned into then. Was it Austin? Rock? Hogan? Goldberg? Sting? What appealed these fans? nWo? DX? Austin 3:16? After the Monday Night War period, where did they go? The easy answer would've been TNA but those numbers are no where near WCW's or WWE's peak at the time. So did they go to another sport? Nascar perhaps? And finally, what would bring them back? Since I watched everything during the Monday Night War period, it seems odd that they just disappeared over the years, these casual fans. You would think that what was presented would entice them to hang around. Lastly, could you pin point a period where the fans left? The easy answer would be when the WWE bought WCW, but WCW's ratings were in the crapper so I don't think that really was the moment. Was it when Rock left? After Wrestlemania X-7? InVasion? Fingerpoke of doom? I clearly have no answer for this, so I leave it up to the rest of you.

    Beware of Dog

    1. Diana Smith, good or bad? Not good as in good looking, but does she do a good enough acting job to make a piss-poor angle at least somewhat believable? Or do you just say...wow, get off my television. It was ok, but even 12 years later I have no clue why she turned heel, assuming she is a heel. I still remember the accuastions though, funny stuff. 2. Double pin finishes, good or bad? Bad, but I did mark out hearing Finkel say NEWWWWWWWWWW champion, unfortunately that didn't last. 3. Yokozuna...why in the world is he employed at this point in time? Was there any possible benefit from having him around? They probably felt they invested enough in him, maybe they wanted to push him again afterwards. Once the weight was gone. 4. If not for Marc Mero's injury later in the year, how far up the card could he have risen? Also, is he rela ted to Little Richard? He did move high enough winning the IC title, but I think that was his glass ceiling. 5. Goldust vs. Undertaker...who in the hell thought up this one? Do you like the matchup? Hate it? I SOOOOOOOOOOOOO badly wanted Undertaker to win the IC title. I thought the WWE wanted to rebuild the IC title and this looked like the route they were going. I wanted Taker to put Goldust in the casket and win the strap. 6. Last one, would a strap match be a good gimmick to bring back into the current landscape of the WWE? Or is a bullrope match a perfectly acceptable alternative? I liked the Savio-Austin series. Good matches that were intense. It's a good gimmick, but it needs the right guys to do the match. Unless I'm wrong, wasn't the last strap match Rock/HHH in 1998?

    Favorite Build-ups?

So what are you favorite build ups to a match? I got a few more I can name, but the one I currently remember is the Warrior-Savage Summerslam 92 storyline. The who sold out part was great, I just wish Warrior had gone with the heel turn. It would've made more sense and actually given it a build up. Other build-ups I liked were of course Austin-Rock X-7 and Michaels-Hart Survivor Series 97.

    The Rock vs. Triple H

Looking back at this feud, it seems that these two guys have had a lot of matches together. What I can recall off the top of my head are the following matches: Survivor Series 96 Rocky is on one team, Hunter on the other Raw 97 Rocky def. Triple H for the IC Title Fully Loaded 98 Rock vs. Triple H 2 out of 3 Falls Summerslam 98 Rock vs. Triple H Ladder Match Raw 99 Rock vs. Triple H and Undertaker Over the Edge 99 Rock vs. Triple H Fully Loaded 99 Rock vs. Triple H Strap Match Unforgiven 6 six pack challenge Rock vs. Triple H vs. Bulldog vs. Kane vs. Mankind vs. Big Show Wrestlemania 2000 Rock vs. Triple H vs. Big Show vs. Mankind Backlash 2000 Rock vs. Triple H Judgment Day 2000 Rock vs. Triple H Iron Man Match King of the Ring 2000 Rock/Taker/Kane vs. Triple H/Vince/Shane Armageddon 2000 Rock vs. Triple H vs. Austin vs. Rikshi vs. Taker vs. Angle Raw 2002 Rock vs. Triple H I'm sure I probably missed a few more televised matches, but is it safe to say, at least in the modern era, that these two guys worked the most together? I'm sure they probably had even more on the house shows but to see that many on TV is something. Just some simple questions, pick whichever you want to ask, don't have to answer them all: So did you like this feud? If so, what dynamic did you like? Triple H as heel? Rock as heel? Which era of the feud did you like best? DX vs. The Nation? McMahon/Helmsley era vs. Rock? Who came out of the feud looking better? Did one wrestler constantly have to carry the other? Or did both of them work their asses off? What was your favorite match between the two? What is the legacy of this feud? This feud carried the WWF for the first half of 2000, so it definitely has a spot someone in history. It's too bad Triple H and Rock don't see eye to eye, because these two defininately come out as stars during this feud. If there is anyone who should at least have a business friendship, you would think it's these two.

Potential Big Problems for WWE Worker

Does Rey live in Atlanta? I seem to recall something, from his WCW days? Again, I could be wrong, because he's from the 619.
  19. So you have a choice. Of all the free agents out there that can still wrestle and are not contracted to another company, who do you choose? Can this wrestler spike ratings? Bring it in the ring? Have any value on the WWE's bottom line? For me, my choice is Sid. Besides bringing it in the ring which he can't really do, and I mean that in terms of he ain't getting no **** or ***** matches, he should at least draw something at the gates. As a heel he would be a great threat to faces like HHH, Cena, or HBK for old times sake. I read he's healed up enough that he can get back into the ring. I'd like to say Shamrock was a VERY close pick to being the 1 guy I'd bring back because of all the UFC appeal and how they could book him as a monster. But I stick to Sid. Your pick?

    Wrestlemania XXIV Discussion Thread

Great show, as I also saw it, what I was gonna say was pretty much stated already. That Taker-Edge match, when it picked up, was just great. That ending was something. Also glad to see them doing something with Punk. I too also loved that Hornswoggle garbage can shot.

    WWE Raw (3/31)

Last week had me fearing that Punk was getting no where. If this is the OFFICIAL start of the CM Punk mega push then I'm all for it. HHH, if the times comes, put over Punk, I'm begging ya. For the immediate future though, Punk, don't pull a Kennedy and choke 3 times this calendar year.

WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2008

Well, I have to give the Rock credit. He didn't have to be there for the Hall of Fame. He said a while ago, The Rock is dead, it's now Dwyane Johnson. Can't he just go by that for good? The man gave his time for the business, had more respect for it than Brock Lesnar and Goldberg combined and made them enough money. If this is reason for heat, I truly hope his DVD has NO ONE but Dwyane on it. Save the snide remarks from HHH or whoever else for another DVD. The more I think about it, the more I can see why Rock respects Bret so much more than HHH and HBK. Clearly Hart and Johnson have the same hatred for HHH and HBK and I say good for them. Just like to add, in the end, The Rock owes NOBODY a damn thing. Not Vince, not HBK, not HHH for damn sure, no one.

    The ECW Title

But shouldn't that purpose be saved for the U.S. and IC titles, basically? It was, but these days those titles are either not defended or mean nothing. The IC title especially, guys who have won it are already over, in the case of Hardy or Jericho, or who will never be pushed as a star, like Albert back in 2001. There is no direction for that title. The US title could have elevated a few guys, but they went back to guys above the title like Benoit and Booker. Basically, those titles need long reigns and are defended enough and are not forgotten. At least the ECW title gets TV time, hence why I think that should be the new IC title.
