    Recommend a Sports Book

The Last Season : A Team in Search of Its Soul by Phil Jackson All the Kobe stuff makes this book worthwhile. Haven't read it since it came out, but it gives a good insight into WHY people don't really like Kobe.
  2. Well, I guess the best answer or immediate answer to this was Austin-Hart. It was a great feud both ways. Another feud that I really like where the guys swapped roles was Hart vs. Michaels. And unless I'm wrong, is this the only feud where they both feuded as face vs. face, face vs. heel and heel vs. heel? Another feud that worked were Austin vs. Rock, either as face and heel did the job. What are your favorite feuds where guys either turned during a feud or switched roles later on and met again?
  3. Some more feuds: Booker T vs. Triple H 2003 / Booker T vs. Triple H 2007. 2003 should've been won by Booker and all 2007 did was make Booker look like a bitch. Jericho vs. RVD 2001 / Jericho vs. RVD 2002. Was a really untapped feud, but we now know more why they didb't work together that often back then. Vince McMahon vs. Triple H 1999 / Mr. McMahon vs. Triple H 2006. I kinda liked the 1999 feud, the 2006 one was meh. Diesel vs. Shawn Michaels 1995 / Diesel vs. Shawn Michaels 1996. Clearly no one bought the 1995 feud, especially when big guy beats on small guy. The 1996 feud was great, one of Nash's better matches. Razor Ramon vs. 1-2-3 Kid 1993 / Razor Ramon vs. 1-2-3 Kid 1996. The 93 feud was pretty good, but the fans were dying to cheer for Razor. It practically made two stars. Undertaker vs. Triple H 2001 / Undertaker vs. Triple H 2002. If the 2002 King of the Ring match says anything, the first feud was a lot better. Rock vs. Hogan 2002 / Rock vs. Hogan 2003. The 2002 was great, I guess the crowds made it better. The 2003 feud was kinda flat.
  4. So what are your matches that you think could've drawn a HUGE buyrate and should've never been given away on free tv. It pretty much begins with Hogan vs. Goldberg in 1998 but here's a quick few that come to mind: Shawn Michaels vs. RVD 2002 This match would've drawn on ppv in my opinion and it was their first ever match up. Goldberg vs. Shawn Michaels 2003 The names alone would've drawn for this match, sad to see a lot of first matchups with HBK wasted on TV in 2002-03 Bret Hart vs. Ken Shamrock 1997 This would've fit on the cards perfectly behind HBK and Taker back in 1997. nWo vs. Stone Cold and The Rock 2002 Oh man, this would've drawn in my opinion. The crowd was hot for the match but on a pay per view it would've drawn HUGE regardless if they had a 3rd man or not. It would be similar to the Bash at the Beach 6 man tag. Those are just a quick few I can think of. Got your picks?

They didn't even highlight or acknowledge that they were jobbers from 94-97? Damn, would've been cool to see that footage again.

    Wrestlemania 24

Even though this WON'T happen, what I would like to see is Matt wins the Money in the Bank, Edge retains, Matt Hardy vs. Edge for the World Title and Hardy wins at Summerslam. Just to finish off the feud that never really ended 3 years to the card where it all began.
  7. I guess it pretty much starts with the finger poke but what other moments do you have where you clear seen, in your eyes, a burial of a title. After watching the Owen-Bulldog Euro title match, to see it only 9 months later go to a joke match with HHH-HBK was the end for that title before it even began. Other moments: WCW TV in the trash David Arquette Vince Russo Stone Cold throwing the IC title over the bridge Got yours?

    Moments where titles were buried

Does 2007's No Mercy count? WWE title changes hands twice, is rewarded to Orton, 3 title defenses in one night. Meanwhile, Cena held it for one whole year only to see it become a hot potato in one night.
  9. Austin/HHH vs. Benoit/Jericho could have easily main evented a PPV. Put them in the main event of Backlash or Judgment Day instead of Taker and Kane and we have a winner. All the FREE Jericho vs. Austin and Benoit vs. Austin matches in 2001 were also stupid and could've easily main evented a pre invastion WWF pay per view. If only the Benoit vs. Austin Edmonton match was on a pay per view, at least we would have a copy of that today, instead of being LOST FOREVER. Another one that came to mind: Kurt Angle vs. Booker T WCW Title This was another big match with a "WWF" guy winning the WCW title. One of my favorite smackdown moments.

Matches that shouldn't have been on PPV

Shit, I read the title of the thread wrong. Well, for pay per view matches, I gotta go with: Jamie Noble vs. Nidia.
  11. This one might be debatable but: Ric Flair vs. Hulk Hogan Raw 2002 I believe it was for the Undisputed Title. Could that have drawn some ppv buys in 2002?

WWE General Discussion - January 2008

So the road to Wrestlemania is in full effect. Big Show looks to return at the same pay per view he made his debut 9 years ago. Anyone think he'll factor into one of the matches at No Way Out?

    Moments where titles were buried

Here's a good one for debate. The US title has been, in MY opinion booked real well since it returned in 2003. Back in 2001, Booker T HANDED the title to Kanyon. Did you see that as: a) Kanyon "getting" a belt b) The title buried and treated as a joke c) There actually was a true meaning and some honor in that somewhere, when someone hands another wrestler a belt.

So I guess this will be the 6th straight year the IC title won't be defended at Wrestlemania? It's too bad, back then, it was so prestigeous.

    *Smackdown Spoilers*

I wouldn't be surprised if they make it a trifecta and have a 3rd chamber match, with ECW guys. Burke, Benjamin, Kane, Punk, Dreamer, Morrison? As for Raw's chamber, wouldn't it be something if Jericho won? Gets a title shot and wins, and there's his reward for signing with the company. Then.......... HHH wins the money in the bank, cashes it in immediately, PEDIGREE, 1-2-3, new champion. I can totally see HHH wanting to do that.

I think it would be Hayes, but that might relate back to 2006, when Hayes and Lashley had heat with each other. Hayes apparently wanted nothing do with him on Smackdown.

Nice to see Jericho is a politician too. I guess he just had enough of HHH to bury someone else. I guess all is fair here.

    Bobby Lashley released

So here's Kristal's myspace blog post: Judging by that post, evil = no booking plans with him? I guess MVP, Big Daddy V, Elijah Burke, and Shelton better watch their backs?

    Bobby Lashley released

    22. Lashley was NEVER good enough to join the corporation, unlike Bossman. Vince McMahon has got a message to Lashley: McMahon 3:16, says I've got the BRASS to fire your ASS!

Worst Excuse for a Face Turn

Or Vader's face turn at the end of his WCW run. I don't even remember why he turned face in the WWF. Someone please refresh my memory. I'm assuming it was part of the U.S.A Vs Canada angle seeing how he was on Team USA at Survivor Series '97 (Weirdest Survivor Series team ever by the way, Vader, Goldust, Steve Blackman and Marc Mero. The only common thread I guess was their love of their country. USA! USA!) It was a Raw in September I believe, could be wrong, Patriot is getting his ass kicked by the Hart Foundation, they lay a flag out on him, Vader runs out and makes the save. While it is indeed the face term, the only reason Patriot and Vader teamed up was because they hated "big mouthed CANADIANS!". I think his face turn was official by Survivor Series when he formed Team USA. And I say stupid. Anyone else, even Shamrock, should've paired up with Patriot against the Harts. That made more sense then Vader, and yes, I was partial to him being a HEEL in the WWF. His first few months in the WWF were great. Until HBK fucked him up at Summerslam.

Worst Excuse for a Face Turn

What about Vader's face turn? Seriously, there could've been better reasons for him to turn face or even NOT AT ALL in my opinion in 1997.
  24. Why was Mr. Perfect omitted from the Kid Rock WWF desire video?
  25. You know, someday, SOMEONE, Booker T, RVD, etc............ has got to write a book on HHH. Jericho can write the forward.
