All but done: Report: A-Rod, Yankees agree on outline of $275 million, 10-year contract http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3112799

Looking back at the attitude era where people were getting paid and everyone was looking good, during Austin's run there were a few guys I thought could work with him and draw money but it just didn't happen for many reasons. Ken Shamrock: Could've just been a hired gun for McMahon. I know they had one match sometime mid 1998 on Raw but I think I feud between these two would've been intense and could've drawn some cash. Vader: Not the 1998 Vader, but the 1996 still heel and a still could've worked a decent match. I think Austin could've used a monster like Vader during his run as champion and it could've been a fun feud. Shawn Michaels: A proper rematch between the two in mid 1998 with Michaels chasing the title would've been fun. I'm sure by that time A LOT of money could've be drawn in a rematch between the two. Ahmed Johnson: They were slowly turning him into a tweener and he was on the verge of feuding with Austin and I think while it may not have been a classic in the ring, people would've paid to see this match-up. Dr. Death Steve Williams: Unless I'm wrong, they were building for this trying to make him win the brawl for all but we all know what happened there. Big Show: I think they wanted to do this feud with a build to Wrestlemania 2000. I think this would've drawn too and a proper feud would've been a good feud. Jeff Jarrett/Owen Hart: We know all about each man here. Bret Hart: If Austin was chasing Bret or even defending the belt against Hart in 1998 or 1999 this would've drawn. Would've been great both inside and outside the ring. Mike Tyson: Before the turn on DX, I could've sworn the WWF was going to do a mega program with Austin vs. Tyson which would've shattered every record in the WWF possible. Summerslam or even Wrestlemania 15, but I guess for some reason they didn't want to go there. Any of you got other picks here? This was just a time when Austin could've branched out and drawn a few bucks with other contenders but for some reason it just revolved around Taker and Rock for a good period from 1998 to 1999.

Too bad they aren't doing another legends team this year. I think there are more than a few that could fill up one team.

Reports out of Toronto indicate that Sean Avery made a comment about Jason Blake's cancer.

I guess either Batista got them all or they al rejected him. So I guess when it comes to WWE divas the code words "behind the scenes" really means Batista.

If we're lucky we'll get GTV, a Val Venis promo circa 1999 and the Godfather and his Ho Train! Maybe Vince can start up the corporation again tonight? Realistically though, I want Santino to clock Austin or give him a stunner. Hell, I say continue the bait and switch with it being in LA, they should bring out Will Sasso to revive his Austin gimmick.

I think Bret was also concerned with how HHH/HBK played Bulldog in England. Remember that? One Night Only in front of the UK crowd, Bulldog jobs the title, even though that was not the plan. HHH and HBK succeed changing the plans saying how it'll create heat for them. Remember the mess after the match? HBK's promo on Bulldog's dying sister? Looking back, that was a pretty brutal scene. Now picture that but with Bret and Shawn and in Montreal. Do you REALLY think the crowd could handle that? I mean it was a pretty rowdy crowd already that night in Montreal.

Chris Benoit Dead - Toxicology results released
Boxer replied to Human Fly's topic in The WWE Folder
I hope you didn't find out from CNN. Knowing them, they would report Benoit died via Casket match or Buried Alive. -
Hmmm.... if that's the case I guess the Yankees like the Mariners and Rangers learned the hard way that A-Rod was nothing but A FRAUD.
-
I don't live in New York so I don't know the answer to this. But, will A-Rod be the most hated ex-Yankee ever? Will get booed really bad when he makes his return to the Bronx? Or will you guys actually cheer him and respect him for the 4 years or so of service in New York?
-
I doubt this would happen, but boy, I would mark out if they made a Scott Hall/Razor Ramon DVD. Think of all the extras. Last Call Scott Hall. How I learned to use a cattle prod. WCW has REAL LADDER Matches.
-
So, 10 years ago where were you all after this just happened? Me, I saw Raw the next night and saw that "Bret's last match" survivor series promo and found out then. Didn't have the internet back then so that's how I found out.

Anyone got the ratings. I want to know if Austin, DX and them spiked the ratings. -

Cena did look pretty bad there, but Dynamite Kid. Whoa, I didn`t know he had it that bad. -
I guess it`s safe to say thanks for Mr. Benoit all the 2008 DVDs will now have to be second guessed on material that may feature him. I wonder what the Summerslam box setr will look like without his matches, if thats the route they are gonna take.

So what will TNA call him. The Masterlock. CM Lock. Christian Masters.

Those are the only ones we know were involved. There has always been rumors that people were involved on both sides (Setting up the screwjob and warning Bret), but their identity hasn't been revealed. I believe Meltzer has always said a key player has never been named, and he won't be named until he dies, which makes me believe he's kind of up there in age. All of the guys in the locker room at the time, I have this feeling that Undertaker must have known SOMETHING then. Just because of the stature he had with the company, he must have either known or seen something coming.
-
Which leads me to the question, we know Shawn and Bret hate each other. WHY and HOW do HHH and Bret have heat with each other?

In my opinion Triple H came out of Montreal looking the best albeit WAY WAY down the road.
-
Look harder and you'll find it. http://www.wwe.com/inside/news/harttenyearslaterpt1 Read the What If on Montreal being reversed. Nice to see Triple H speak out loud. I must admit I find Lawler's thought to be very candid and pretty much 100% true.
-
Will there be a "Montreal Rules Match" at Survivor Series?
-
Anyone know when Lashley is due back? I miss him. Ok, I miss his new KICK ASS remix theme.

So judging by this interesting Raw, if the ratings do well, I guess what Bonnie wants Bonnie gets eh? -
Punk and Balls feuding over Kelly? Could be interesting..... Eh, most likely just to pop the crowd. Balls should get a token run as world champion for being professional and going along with the WWE's plan for the new ECW. I mean hey, who knew that Balls would be the last ECW original still around that wasn't previously hired by WWE.
