Will the bait and switch us again? Where's BIG SHOW when you need him?
-
I hope they release the 2008 DVD schedule sometime soon. I'd like to see the following: Something, ANYTHING, WCW. Box set or just a rise and fall DVD would work. A Vader DVD The Perfect DVD eventually Best of the Iron Man Matches The Rock career set Summerslam and Survivor Series are apparently coming out anyway in 2008, so they're good. WWE Rivalries. We need a good 3 disc set on the most intense feuds in WWE history. Hogan vs. Savage, Bret vs. Shawn, Austin vs. Bret, Austin vs. Rock, Triple H vs. Rock, etc........ Scott Hall and/or Kevin Nash DVD set The Ultimate Booker T DVD Set Chris Jericho DVD

Saw this show on Sunday, it was a pretty flat show. Some of the moves were questionable and left me scratching my head. Title match 2nd last, Triple H as close to curtain jerking as possible, Taker going LAST, and Batista winning the belt. This is definately one of the weaker shows of the year.

Undertaker never had Mattitude or Mattitude followers.

Why and why? It looks to me like the WWE has no faith in anyone anytime soon to take the title off of Cena. Secondly, I'm sure it would make Wrestlemania 25 much more huge if the title change happened then. I'm sure people would pay to watch Cena drop the title after over 1000 days as the champion. Triple H would be drooling at the opportunity to be the one to finally defeat him at the 25th anniversary of the show. I mean really, if Cena has gone over EVERYONE in the company, how would it make them credible to beat Cena? The problem with Cena is that with the exception of Edge and RVD defeating Cena, every Cena title defense, he pretty much beat all his challengers clean. Cena is looking to strong that if a guy who got 2-3 title shots back to back finally beat him I don't know if people would accept that. And really, who is left that Cena has beaten yet either for a title or defending? I can really only think of Batista and Undertaker. Unless Brock Lesnar, Sid, Goldberg, or someone comes back, Cena is pretty much without any challengers.

Exactly how did John Cena turn face? I know he went from feuding with Brock Lesnar and then suddenly he's on Team Angle for Survivor Series. I also remember he was feuding with Eddie earlier before that still as a heel so what happened to turn him face?
-
As the date gets closer to Austin's DVD, anyone heard of match listings. The Survivor Series match vs. Bret MUST finally get on DVD damnit.
-
The only match that was ever really "different" was Angle vs. Taker from No Way Out. Every other match has kinda had the same formula and same style.

Chris Benoit Dead - Toxicology results released
Boxer replied to Human Fly's topic in The WWE Folder
Chris Benoit vs. Bret Hart from Nitro is definately a match that has a different feel to it now. Seems like Bret is dedicating the match to his dead brother while practically fighting another dead guy in the ring. -
So has Marcus Cor Von been put pretty much the entire summer? I've never seen the WWE let a guy get this much time off without writing him out of a storyline or a suspension.
-
I doubt it would ever happen, but am I the only one that got a very small vibe that John Cena's father could turn heel? I mean, damn, I'd mark out if Cena's dad would be the one to cost Cena to the title.
-
I hope Cena retains the belt all the way to Wrestlemania 24. Hell, maybe on the 25th Anniversary of Wrestlemania would be the most appropriate time for him the drop the title.
-
Anyone think they'll do a Hornswoggle and McMahon skit on the card? Or is that storyline all but dead?

HBK and HHH head to WCW and debut at Souled Out 98. Meanwhile, back at the WWF, Bret and Austin rebuild their storyline after Survivor Series 1997. Austin wins the 1998 Royal Rumble, Bret sucessfully defends the belt against Taker/Vader/Shamrock, whomever at Royal Rumble. Also, along the way Bret and Owen win the tag titles to erase the Steiners as the last brother tag team to win the tag titles. Bret Hart vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin at Wrestlemania 14 with Mike Tyson as special ref. Austin wins, and a different attitude era begins. Meanwhile, the Hart Foundation turns on Bret calling him a loser and VINCE MCMAHON turns out to be the guy to form the Hart Foundation and becomes the new leader of the group. So where's the backstory on this? When Bret attacked Vince in Halifax in July of 1997, notice the Hart's didn't put up a fight WITH Bret? It was all a ploy to get the Harts to eventually turn on Bret and he becomes a face again and begins to feud with the Hart Foundation. Meanwhile Austin feuds with guys like Taker, Rock, a heel Shamrock, Mankind, etc........ The WWF locker room is a much happier place with the "clique" now gone. Meanwhile, in WCW. The politics all blow up by mid 1998. Hogan, Sting, Goldberg, Savage, Flair and other WCW mainstays or stars are pissed at the fact that the clique has formed and has basically gotten a death grip on TV, Bischoff and all the titles. Nash is World Champion, Hall is US Champion, Syxx is Cruiserweight Champion, and HHH and HBK are tag team champions dubbing themselves Outsiders version 2.0. Sting and Goldberg jump to the WWF by 1999. Ratings spike initally as HHH and HBK are in WCW. But by mid 1998 Nitro is stale due to the nWo going over EVERYONE and literally pissing offf each and every person in the locker room and in the board room. Ted Turner has to walk into the WCW locker room and give them a pep talk. Benoit, Guererro, Saturn, etc... all go to New Japan or back to ECW. Meanwhile at Wrestlemania 15, Bret Hart battles his last match against his brother Owen Hart in a 5 year Wrestlemania rematch with Vince McMahon as the special referee. The same sequence happens with the victory roll on Owen, which gets reversed by Owen, into the sharpshooter and Owen taps out. Bret retires getting his revenge on McMahon and the Hart Foundation. Meanwhile, the main event for Wrestlemania 15 is still The Rock vs. Stone Cold. Sting vs. The Undertaker is also on the card while Goldberg wins the IC title. By late 1999, Test and Stephanie start dating. Bret Hart nods with approval of the guy he brought into the WWF. WCW folds by 2001. Test and Stephanie offically get married in 2003 and Test is now a 2 time WWF champion. Bret becomes a member of the creative team and is officially 7 years into his 20 year contract. As for HHH and HBK? They go TNA and reek havoc there. Jeff Jarrett nods with approval.

Chris Benoit Dead - Toxicology results released

What about it? It's a great match. I don't know if he was saying anything necessarily back about it, but Agreed 100%. If not for the dragged-out rear chinlock about midway through the match (I know both guys probably needed a chance to relax since they were both going full speed ahead) I'd have no problem calling it perfect. Completely off-topic, but I wanted to ask this. I still can't listen to "One Thing" by Finger Eleven without thinking of the uber-depressing Benoit Memorial video from RAW. Anyone else feel the same way? It's just that I now associate that song with him since his suicide. Does anyone else feel similar? Yes about the Finger Eleven song. Just like the Three Doors Down song and Eddie, that reminds me of Benoit. On another slight related topic, anyone seen these articles from ESPN? http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/news/story?...mp;lid=tab1pos1 Also a story on Luger: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/news/story?id=3016179 I didn't know Luger needed a cane to get around now. -
From wwe.com I'd like to say Big Daddy V just for kicks, but I have a feeling this is going to be a let down. I'm actually surprised they mention Stevie Richards in the Raw preview as well.

So whatever became of the Mr. Perfect DVD? Wasn't that suppose to come out late this year?
-
So when Hogan did his odd return to the WWE during 2002, 2003 and 2005 and had one ore two Raw matches, did he draw? Was there a ratings spike for Hogan matches?
-
What if X-Pac never returned to the WWE and DX was dead after Wrestlemania? Does HHH go back to blueblood or singles heel and he HIMSELF is DX?
-
Pick ONE darkhorse breakout player for the 07-08 season.

What about Benoit-Angle from Rumble 2003? -
After a search, I was surprised no one posted the rating? Anyone got a clue? Did the storyline spike some ratings points?
-
On a Raw in 1998? I believe, Dustin Runnels came out and said he couldn't do this anymore, etc...... about the Goldust gimmick. If I remember this, he burned the Goldust uniform and then he was himself for a few months. So basically, where did this go? How did it end? Why did he return back to Goldust by 99? Was he a heel? It's one of those things I basically can't remember.
-
Anyone remember this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YjdhLa6QfrA Goldust finally snaps. I remember watching this and I was actually kinda surprised they were turning him heel. Edit: Start marking out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VmgAq2dtLjs HBK potshot at Hogan in 1993: http://www.dailymotion.com/relevance/searc...interview_sport
