4th Returns for the All-Star ballots are in: Man, I did not think the gap would close even more. Let's face it folks, YI JIANLIAN: PPG: 10.4 RPG: 6.20 APG: 1.1 With those numbers is an All-Star starter. Who knew the trade to New Jersey would bring in so many new fans for YI.

The Toronto Blue Jays. Are we going to wait until 2071 or something to make the playoffs? Clearly the Yankees/Sox/Rays are the cream of the crop and that's the DIVISION, let alone the AL. 2009 Baseball Season, it was good knowing you, as a Jays fan.

The latest returns on All-Star votes: LeBron James (Clev) 1,521,272; Kevin Garnett (Bos) 1,101,541; Yi Jianlian (NJ) 959,324, Chris Bosh (Tor) 601,204; Paul Pierce (Bos) 387,105 Clearly this is the biggest race to the ballots since McCain and Obama. He's closing in folks, it could actually happen. Yi vs. Yao, the Chinese Superbowl, All-Star weekend in Phoenix. Edit: Maybe this was happening to people voting online: Got that from another board.

    Did anybody get a PSP?

Is it just me or has: a) Interest in the PSP died? b) Why are their not a lot of new released games, in comparison with all those new DS games out left and right and c) Does anyone even own one anymore? The new PSP-3000 series came out a while ago.

    Predictions for 2009

So here is the 2009 thread. It's safe to say that 2008 wasn't as eventful as 2007 in terms of the main stream media, but there were still a few surprises such as Punk and Jeff winning world titles. Without further ado, here's my predictions for 2009. Austin will wrestle at Wrestlemania 25 Sting will join the WWE finally Christian will be a World Champion by Summerslam Ron Killings will slowly fade away WWE will continue to have more mass firings, this time the names will be Benjamin, Kendrick, Kennedy as the big ones ECW will fold Chris Jericho will get another Intercontinetal Championship run Shawn Michaels will retire in 2009 Undertaker will not in 2009 Ted Dibiase will be a major player by the end of 2009 John Cena will have another superman run with the world title, and will not drop the title at all in 2009 One superstar will be elected to the hall of fame and it will shock us all Orton becomes a major face Batista will continue to choke in title matches CM Punk turns heel Rey Mysterio will just flounder on Raw Kurt Angle will return by Survivor Series Matt and Jeff will be de-pushed by Vengence Triple H will take time off, just because he can Santino Marella will become a world champion Mick Foley returns to WWE just to bash TNA One major TNA star, not named Sting, will join the WWE There will be a few more "Braden Walkers" in the WWE Kelly Kelly will pose nude for Playboy Big Show will become WWE Champion Goldust, Cody and Dusty will get TV time as a trio DH Smith and TJ Wilson will be known by the end of 2009 Cryme Tyme will break up and Shad will be pushed as a HOSS Yours?

    WWE SmackDown - January 2, 2009

Am I the only one who found this bit of info great? So Show leaves Edge hanging as he feuds with the Hardyz? So it looks like Edge is going to need a partner to feud with The Hardyz. A REAL partner. I wonder who THAT could be. Edge is pissed and calls out Show next week and........ Cue the music ................... JUST CLOSE YOUR EYES. Con-Chairto on Show and the feud between the Hardyz and E&C begins.

Yi.......... McGrady............ Alston........... Do I smell a trend here? What could that trend be?
  14. Only thing I got from wwe.com were the pictures: Kane vs. HBK Punk vs. Jericho Mysterio vs. JBL Batista vs. Orton Hopefully the crowd will be good from Toronto.
  15. I have to admit, when Hogan left the WWF in 1993 to go to WCW in 1994, I totally wanted him to fail and fall flat on his face. After getting tired of seeing Hulkamania, the Hitman era was such a refreshing period for me. Other wrestlers I didn't want to see succeed: Savage in WCW. Again, his greatness was in the WWF, so I didn't want him to take off in WCW. Bret Hart: Same reason. I never wanted Bret to do so well, that he would "forget" about his WWF run. Henning: I wanted him to feud with Helmsley in the WWF not going to WCW where I knew he was gonna be wasted. Angle: In TNA. Only because he ran his mouth so much about proving to everyone he still had. Your choices?

    TSM Profile: Haku

If it wasn't for the Invasion and the WCW purchase, I'm sure Haku would've gotten a better push. Maybe destroying Jericho/Benoit for the IC title would've been great.

    Victoria Retires

You do realize wrestlers who make a lot of money with the WWE don't give two shits if they lose matches or not. I'm sure losing in matches has nothing to do with her retiring. Tell that to Hogan, Bret, Shawn, Hunter, Taker ... Aw fuck it. I gotta ask, on the subject of those 5 guys you mentioned. Hogan - of course he cared if he jobbed or not. Shawn and Hunter - Ditto Taker - Wasn't it only one time he refused to job clean and that was against Lesnar at Unforgiven because he wanted to put him over clean at No Mercy? Bret - One night only, and he's lumped here into people who didn't want to job? Care to explain further on Taker and Bret as guys "refusing to job"/"cared about wins and losses"
  19. So looking at your favorite superstar or any superstar in general, can you pin point an exact moment where they jumped the shark? Here's a few quick picks from my brain and what I think were the specific moment where their career went south. Marc Mero: When he got shelved in later 1996, never came back the same again. Now whether or not WWE didn't want him to do his Wildman stuff again is debatable. Ahmed Johnson: Ron Simmon's kick to the kidney or whatever. Seriously, Ahmed didn't need to go down as it slowed his momentum down so much. Was never the same again in my eyes. Bret Hart: Montreal. Don't get me wrong, as a Hart mark I could see he was nailing it in a lot during his 1997 run, but shit, his WCW stuff was totally utter crap compared to his WWF stuff. Ken Shamrock: After looking like a goof twice, once by DX and once by the Rock and the nation, after NOT winning the IC title, he seemed damaged too me. There are many, MANY more wrestlers I can name, but I'd like to hear your choices and when you saw them go downhill.
  20. Why would Brock have been humiliated if wwe.com hyped up this return so much before the talks broke down. I have to think, they had something big for him.

The Wizards haven't been the same, to me at least, since Ruffingate. As for the Raptors, what does everyone else thing of them? Raptors or Craptors?
  23. Order of card taken from wwe.com: Undertaker vs. Big Show (Casket Match) Undertaker wins, but Umaga is back to attack the deadman. Jeff Hardy vs. WWE Champion Triple H vs. Vladimir Kozlov (Triple Threat Match) Triple H pins Hardy yet again. There will be a rematch next month. Team Batista vs. Team Orton Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Match Orton is the sole survivor. He's usually good at this pay per view doing it twice in his career, I say he does it again. Team HBK vs. Team JBL Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Match Shawn Michaels is the sole survivor. Team SmackDown vs. Team Raw Divas Survivor Series Elimination Match Raw wins. Who is the survivor? Meh. World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho vs. John Cena Jericho wins. They can't really hotshot the title onto Cena, because who will he face then?
