Kane did have a couple of fun matches with Show for the title during that reign. I remember on Raw where Show issued an open challenge for the title and Kane accepted. They goozled each other at the same time, but I think Show finally squeezed harder. Then they had another match after the start of the McMahon-Helmsley era. It may have been the match with the stipulation that if Kane lost, Tori had to spend New Year's with X-Pac. Triple H kept adding stipulations, so it turned out being No DQ and Falls Count Anywhere, and Show powerbomed Kane through the announce table for the win IIRC. Show also had an interesting match with Viscera for the title. This stuff was happening within the first 2-3 months of me watching wrestling, and I, for whatever reason, was a huge Big Show mark (I still have a soft spot for the guy). I even stayed on Show's side when he turned heel against The Rock after losing the title.

Yeah, I actually liked Test around that time. I remember him having a nifty match with Big Boss Man on Raw for the Hardcore title, and he won with a diving elbow using Boss Man's nightstick.

Test had a broken nose, right? I remember him wrestling in a face mask for a little while, I think it was around this time.

I actually have SuperBrawl 2000 on tape, so if you decide to do that one I might participate in this. -
Another SS99 question: How far in advance did they know Austin wasn't going to be able to wrestle, and when was the decision made to give Big Show the title? He was in the middle of a midcard feud with Big Boss Man, then all of a sudden he's champion.

A few years ago I was at a no-name indy show in an Elementary school gym with maybe 70 people there. The main event was some fat heel manager vs. Doink. I tried to get a "Doink's gonna kill you" chant going. It didn't catch on.

I remember his face run in general, but I can't remember any specifics about how he behaved. Looking at him during Evolution and now, I just can't see him as a babyface. He's such a hateable prick. He actually reminds me a lot of one of my best friends, who I'm only friends with because we've been friends for nearly 20 years (and I'm 21, so that's a LONG time) despite the fact that he's a huge prick. I'm sure we've all got friends like that. Some of us might be somebody else's friend like that.

I'm watching Survivor Series 1999. I've always wanted to see this show because I first got into wrestling in October 1999, and this was the PPV where I figured out I could turn my TV to the scrambled channel and hear the commentary. Anyway, my question: Why was Billy Gunn late for the show? He was the only member of DX not present when Austin was run down, so 12-year-old mark me automatically assumed it had been him. I think when he returned from injury the next year during Austin's return and the "who ran over Austin?" angle, they addressed it. Something like his flight was late and Brooklyn Brawler picked him up from the airport. Is that the real reason? His flight was just late and it had nothing to do with the angle? EDIT: The Outlaws/Mankind & Al Snow match is up now, and Gunn came out without his Tag title belt, so maybe they lost his bags or he forgot to pack the belt or something too. EDIT2: I just watched Austin/Rock from IYH: DX on the IC title DVD. What's the story with Rock coming out wearing the belt even though Austin was the champion?

Does anyone have the Guest Booker with Jarry Jarrett?

I don't have WWE 24/7, but I did watch this show recently. Fast Rumble match aside, Bret vs. Diesel was really good, and I've never said that about a Kevin Nash match.

I went to high school in 2002-2005, so... no, not really. There was the fanatic (me) and a few casual fans who would always ask me what happened on the PPV or Raw the night before. I was the idiot who did the Macho Man impersonation at graduation. I think one person got the reference.

That's correct. I saw him do it live at a house show in a match with Snitsky in September 2005. It was a practice run of their match at Unforgiven the same month, and IIRC he did it in that match at well. Oh, I also met him after the aforementioned house show, and he was a really nice guy.

What did/do your parents think of wrestling?
Chui replied to King Kamala's topic in General Wrestling
My parents both pretty much hate "that stupid fake shit." I started watching when I was 12 and my mom thought it was a phase I'd grow out of. I'm 21 now, and she bitches at me for spending so much money on DVDs and such. I didn't get to go to my first live show until I was 18, and ever since WWE has come to Monroe (60 miles from where I live, the closest they have or will ever come) about once a year. Mom bitched at me big time for spending so much money this year when I went to a TNA show in July and then a WWE show in September. Yes, she still treats me like a child. I really need to move out. -
Where? PWTorrents

Does anybody have the IC Title DVD yet? If so, can you tell me if it has the title change timeline like the WWE title DVD does? EDIT: Went ahead and picked it up. Seems it doesn't have the timeline. I'm disappointed.

Any chance at all of getting the Flair shoot? EDIT: Got it.

I have the black Eddie tribute shirt. I mostly only wear it to wrestling shows and sometimes in the winter because I live in Arkansas and summer is hot enough as it is. I bought a $7 DX shirt from Wal*Mart for some reason that I never wear, but my wife usually wears it when we go to shows (which isn't often). I also had a Wal*Mart Wolfpac shirt back in the day, I think I got it before I ever started watching wrestling.

I went to the TNA show in Monroe back in July. It was a lot of fun. The wrestlers worked harder than WWE guys do at house shows, and TNA falls all over themselves trying to please fans.
-
I posted this another forum and decided I'd post it here too. Mine is Kurt Angle vs. AJ Styles at the TNA house show I went to on 7/19/08. At all the WWE house shows I've been to, it always seems like the guys are just going through the motions, but all the TNA guys on this show worked their asses off. Angle vs. Styles was the main event, and they put on a hell of a show. They started on the mat, then had a lot of awesome near fall sequences. Finish was AJ escaping the ankle lock and hitting the Pele kick, then getting the win with the Styles Clash. I've only ever been to 5 live shows (my 6th will be a SD/ECW house show on 9/13), and most of those were lame, so there's not exactly a lot of competition, but this really was a hell of a match. So there's mine, now share yours!

Wait, Angle has a shoot out and nobody told me?

Night before last I dreamed I was watching an episode of Law & Order that had a pair of crooked police officers named Kobashi and Kawada.

Have an even fatter person rape him, then kill him. I believe the punishment should fit the crime.

So I was browsing this thread and saw a couple of people mention that they thought about/were going to house shows and I decided to check WWE.com to see if they added a show any closer to me in their September Ark-La-Miss loop, and they're in Monroe, Louisiana (an hour from where I live, the closest they'll ever get) on September 13. It'll probably suck in comparison to the TNA show I went to in the same arena 3 weeks ago, but I can't turn down live wrestling. My best friend wants to go just to see Triple H, so there goes my argument that HHH doesn't draw money.
