A great Smackdown this week. Hardy/Helms was ok. Mysterio/Kennedy was great(the best match of the night). The triple threat was way too short(it had the potential to be decent). Finlay/Lashley was good. The other matches didn't run for too long(which is good). A great show!

Goldberg's debut on Nitro(I love Mean Gene in this!) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LaK62THwwus&NR
-
Goldberg's style was cool. Aside from being incredibly intense, the way his matches were booked as a sort of ritual slaughter ceremony- with a quick and painful end- was great. The spear and jackhammer were also great signature moves. Having said that, it's hard to see where Goldberg's career could have gone after the streak was over, given that alot of his success was based on him being unstoppable.

I just finished watching this week's ECW. Heyman's promo was good(he's great on the mic). CM/Moore was way too short, but at least Punk got ring-time. Bigshow/Sabu was crap. RVD needs a more solid feud.
-
This week's Raw was crap. I have no desire to see Piper(or Mcmahon either) wrestle. The only decent match was Carlito-Cena-Hardy/Edge-Orton-Nitro(great heat from the crowd). The main-event was utterly awful!
-
I've always liked Kane's character, and I'd love to see him get a decent world title run. Glenn seems really down to earth, and I agree he's been really patient considering some of the crap WWE has given him(Especially Katie Vick). I'd love to see Kane move to Smackdown.

A good Smackdown last night. Finlay/Rey was a great opener. Kennedy should have faced sombody more important than a jobber, but his finisher looked awesome!. I'm looking forward to Taker/Kennedy. Regal/Lashley was too short, but ok(I found it kinda funny hearing Vito botch Regal's name several times!). The tag match was also too short, but hopefully we'll get to see a triple-threat involving The Pitbulls at No Mercy. Booker/Batista was an improvement on their Summerslam match. I LOVED Finlay's post-match beatdown on Batista. Finlay RULES!!
-
I watched ECW last night. CM Punk should've been given ring-time. DX/Big-show was crap. I'm glad WWE at least apologised for the disrespectful Irwin comment during Striker's promo. I know Striker didn't write it, but whoever did should not have been given the all- clear by Mcmahon.

I loved Edge's promo(especially the SARS comment!). Hardy/Nitro was decent. The main event was ok.

A great Smackdown last night. Helms/Hardy was good. Tatanka/Miz was ok(I enjoyed the crowd turning on Mizanin, he's just so damn annoying!). Finlay/Lashley/Kennedy was GREAT, one of the best of 2006. Pitbulls/London-Kendrick was a good use of the time they had, which ultimately produced a good match. JBL was absolutely great last night! I laughed so much through the whole show. With the exception of Vito/Regal, The whole show was great!

oAo ECW on Sci-Fi Week 12 Thread - 8/29/2006

Punk/Richards was the only decent match on this week's show. CM Punk is consistantly producing good matches on an otherwise lacklustre ECW brand. I really thought they had begun to move on from this ECW/Raw crossover crap, but next weeks 'proposed' ECW main-event(which we all know DX will accept) shattered any illusions I had about that. -
I agree Hardy/Orton was a decent match, it was just a a bit sloppy. Nice to see Estrada get a little microphone time. Melina can't cut a decent promo. Compared to her, Nitro wasn't that bad. DX/McMahon has been pointless from the start. End it now, including disbanding DX(unless the NWO feud happens, which is VERY unlikely). Smackdown still kicks Raw's ass.

I really hope Kurt gets better. As much as I LOVE watching him wrestle, it would better for him not to even contemplate coming back. He should concentrate fully on his body's well-being, as well as spending time with his family. Personal health really is a precious thing. Kurt has produced many great matches in his career, the most recent example being his match against RVD on ECW. I really hope Angle's departure leads to a DVD of his greatest matches.

An ok Smackdown. Hardy/Kennedy was good. Batista-Lashley/Booker's court was also good. JBL's commentry was great. I'm looking forward to the prospect of a decent tag team division in WWE.
-
The only decent match on this week's ECW was Punk/Anderson, even though it was too short. I found it funny that Heyman was trying to build-up Holly as some sort of unsung hardcore legend. Don't get me wrong, he's ok as a midcarder, but not as a main-eventer.

This week's Raw was actually ok. Edge's new belt is too similar to Cena's for my liking. Jeff's return was nice, and the match with Edge was ok(except for the crap finish). I actually liked the Foley/Melina angle, and it didn't run for too long. Now that Foley's gonna be out for a while, I'm gonna miss him on the microphone. By Raw standards, this show was ok. Smackdown is still far better.
-
Summerslam was decent. Edge/Cena was the best match of the night(Cena got semi-booed, and Edge produced another great PPV match). Foley/Flair was also good. Even though Smackdown is far better than Raw, Booker/Batista was sloppy and had a messed up finish. Chavo/Rey was average. Show/Sabu was also mediocre. Orton/Hogan was crap. DX/McMahons was good(I liked the pre-match beatdown) And the finish was cool. Not surprisingly,(since this PPV focused heavily on Raw) WWE was able to rise above the crap they've been putting out on Raw every week, and actually put on decent Raw matches. A decent PPV, even though Booker/Batista was dissappointing.
-
Another good Smackdown. Tatanka/Kennedy was decent. Finlay/Lashley had another good match. Taker/Khali was ok. The only downer was the Vito crap. a good show overall.
-
RVD/Sabu was kinda messed up, but not that bad. Punk/Credible was ok. The tag match was your basic squash. I hate the Shannon Moore vignettes, but at least they're short.
-
I would LOVE that. Taker/Benoit would really work well, IMO.
-
This week's Raw was worse than last week. Every segment sucked(especially the Orton/Hogan one, Hogan was awful!) and there were no good matches.
-
Agreed. He has such a unique voice and style.

The OAO Smackdown Thread for whatever today is.
Wrestlefreak replied to Open the Muggy Gate's topic in The WWE Folder
A good Smackdown, not as good as last week's show. Booker was great on commentry. Smackdown is still ALOT better than Raw or ECW. Smackdown rules!! -
The only good things about this week's crap Raw were: 1) HHH's spinebuster on Umaga. 2) Edge's spear on Trish. 3) Kane's chokeslam on Shelton. 4) Foley on the microphone. Everything else about the show was crap. The diva search feels like it's never gonna go away. Vince and Shane's opening segment wasn't funny at all. Shawn's segment was a rehash of last week's Cuban cigar thing. Like somebody else said in this thread, Raw is going nowhere. Raw sucks! Smackdown rocks!

Smackdown was really good last night. Regal/Finlay was good as usual. Batista/Kennedy was actually pretty solid(Kennedy really impressed me!). Tatanka/Sylvian was also surprisingly good, Taker/Booker didn't really get enough time, but it was still good. Chavo's promo was great, but the whole segment was slightly undermined by Vicky Guerrero's presence. Aside from the Vito and divas crap, the whole show was great IMO!
