Raw really sucked last night. Mick Foley on the mic was the only good thing on the whole show. Flair needs to calm down, he's gonna give himself a bloody heart-attack! Edge needs some ring-time to defend his title. The opening segment wasn't funny at all. I couldn't care less about the Mcmahons or DX. The divas are also shit. The prospect of Orton/Hogan gets more sickening by the week. The IC title match should've been given WAY more time. Edge should be the focus of the show. Get rid of the Mcmahons and DX. Foley should use his great microphone skills to push Edge(and also Nitro). Get rid of the divas forever(except for Lita and Melina, because they actually have a purpose). Give us high quality matches that last more than 5 minutes. If all these things happened, maybe Raw wouldn't be so crap.

Regal/Finlay was too short, but an improvement on GAB. Booker/Rey was also an improvement on the PPV. Other than those matches, the rest of the show was lacking. However, at least they focused on matches(despite a small roster). That's what still makes Smackdown far better than Raw.

Looking forward to CM Punk's debut and Angle's return. I know the rest of the show is gonna suck next week though. This week sucked as usual(it was good to see Kane back).

OAO WWE Wellness Policy Thread
Wrestlefreak replied to Open the Muggy Gate's topic in The WWE Folder
And yet with all these problems, Smackdown is still producing a top quality wrestling show. I REALLY hope it turns out not to be Hepatitis C. -
Raw sucked as usual, but at least Carlito/Benjamin was good.

A decent PPV. London/Kendrick-Kash/Noble was good(these teams really work well together). Hardy/Helms was also impressive. Finlay/Regal was a real disappointment(it had the potential to be match of the night). Taker/Big show was interesting mostly for the design of the prison, but it wasn't bad. Kennedy/Batista had a crap finish, but at least it wasn't a squash. Rey/Booker was good, but it didn't improve greatly from their match on Smackdown. I'm glad Booker is champ though, and Chavo's chairshot was cool. Considering the changes to the card, this PPV was decent. -

That's what I'm thinking too. -

If they've already announced Lashley is off the show (on WWE..com), why is WWE keeping the news about Khali quiet? It doesn't make sense. -

There's nothing on WWE.com about Khali being off the PPV. -
I LOVE the prospect of Finlay/Regal. Bring it on!!

A great show tonight. Kendrick/Kash was good. Finlay/Lashley was great(cool psychology and pace, Finlay rocks!). Super Crazy/Pschosis had a cool finish, even though the match was way too short. I have to question the wisdom of giving away Booker/Rey before the PPV, but it was a decent match. The only things that sucked about this week's Smackdown was the diva crap and the short but still pointless Vito segment. Overall, a great show!

Ezactly. His gimmick is so embarrassing. I totally agree with your post, but I think your idea on how to get him out of it would be ridiculous aswell. IMO, a better idea would be to have him turn his back on the Eugene character and turn heel, like Helms did with the Hurricane. The Spirit squad gimmick also sucks!

Mick Foley's promos were awesome! He's so entertaining and interesting to listen to. Aside from Foley, the rest of the show sucked!!
-
Exactly. They were trying to fit so much into 2 hours, that the quality of the matches suffered alot. Me too. Cena doesn't interest me at all. IMO, he sucks and shouldn't even be in the title picture anymore. Edge, on the other hand, is one of the best things in WWE.

As mentioned in "This Week in Wrestling History" on this week's Raw, today marks 10 years since the creation of, in my opinion, the most important and influential faction in the industry- the New World Order. Wrestling fans came to terms with the most shocking heel turn ever- Hulk Hogan(arguably the biggest face in the history of wrestling) joining the Outsiders, intent on destroying WCW. IMO, Hogan went on to give a speech that would offer one of the fullest and well constructed explanations for a heel turn ever given(a rarity in wrestling!). The NWO began to completely dominate the roster, adding new members along the way. They became one of the most popular factions ever, with their cool persona and bad attitude. However, the group ran for too long, and by the end many fans just didn't care anymore. It is debatable at which point exactly this happened(IMO, it was after the NWO Wolfpac vs NWO Hollywood angle, but some say it was as early as when they added a fourth member). Anyway, the reason I started this thread was so we could discuss the good/bad points of the NWO and your opinions on its impact and legacy. I would also be interested to know if you watched the PPV live(I wish I could have) and if so, what was going through your mind as it was going on? Oh, and also nominate your choice for the most mismatched member of the NWO(anyone who really didn't fit in- Bret Hart is a good example) Thoughts?

A decent Smackdown. JBL was great on commentry as always. Finlay/Lashley was good(I'm glad they put a belt on Finlay at last, he deserves it). Hardy/Kennedy was ok and so was Noble/London. Rey/Regal was a bit lacking. I'm hoping Henry goes over Batista at GAB(I'm by no means a fan of Henry, but I hate Batista even more) I hope Booker beats Rey aswell. Stop the damn diva crap!
-
I'll second that!
-
I TOTALLY agree with everything in your post!!!! I'd just like to add that the diva search has ALWAYS sucked.
-
I'm hoping Khali will be released by WWE after jobbing to Taker at GAB, but it probably won't happen. Khali sucks!

OAO ECW Week 4 on Sci-Fi, July 4th
Wrestlefreak replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in The WWE Folder
Not even a decent main-event this week. How crap! the show stunk almost as bad as week 1. -
Cena looks like an idiot in that poster.
-
We all knew that ECW never had a chance in hell of being as successful as it was in the past now that it's under the WWE umbrella, but they could at least have done the logical thing and given the person who made the original promotion work(Heyman), the ultimate power over the brand if they wanna make their watered-down version of ECW even remotely successful. However, making the buck stop at Heyman isn't the only thing that will help ECW. Smaller crowds, giving it two hours(although if they don't actually improve the product, it would be a waste of time) and more freedom to be create a more violent product would also be a help. IMO, even better than the suggestions I made, would be to get rid of ECW altogether!

WCW facts, tidbits, and stuff people forgot
Wrestlefreak replied to JoeDirt's topic in General Wrestling
That's one of the funniest lines in the entire "Death of WCW" book! -
An ok show. Mizanin is such a prick. Mr kennedy/Super crazy wasn't bad. Lashley/Helms was a bit short, but solid. The Pitbulls have potential and I like their style. The diva search is a bloody waste of time. I don't care!!
-
Exactly. I liked the Wolfpac too. I totally agree that the fingerpoke incident was the true killer of the NWO. The NWO Wolfpac vs NWO Hollywood angle wasn't the killer, it was actually a pretty decent feud. Putting them back together after fueding(and devaluing the championship in the process) was the real mistake.
