Cena Injured Tonight (Out 6-12 Months)
Wrestlefreak replied to PILLS! PILLS! PILLS!'s topic in The WWE Folder
Me too, but in Cena's case I'd be very glad if it happened. -
That's what I was thinking, but then I remembered all the times WWE has gone to alot of effort to hype something, and then it turns out to be nothing major. I agree with you that it's not one of the suspended wrestlers, but I don't think it's Jericho or any other top star either.

I know this thing with with Santino insulting The Condemned is meant to be reverse psychology by WWE to try and boost sales of the DVD, but it won't work because we all know that the movie REALLY DOES suck. Santino is funny though. In regards to Cena, I'm thinking that this week's situation of Coach teasing the idea of Cena losing the title is a sign that WWE might finally bite the bullet by giving the belt to Orton at No Mercy. Although I must say, I'm not getting my hopes up this time.

You guys know I usually like Smackdown, but this week's show was horrible. The wedding segment was incredibly lame and stupid. On top of that, we had these annoying rapper idiots with maria all night acting dumb. Even with these recent spate of injuries on the Smackdown roster, the show had managed to stay watchable until tonight's crap.

Kane/Finlay was good. I was surprised that Finlay dominated the match and was put over so strong, despite Kane's comebacks. I know the "Belfast Brawl" is named after Finlay's gimmick, but the balance was still surprising. I like both Finlay and Kane, so I don''t mind either way.

I think the real question is, why do you guys even care about this Bastard son angle? So what if the payoff was crap? I'm watching Raw right now mainly for Orton/Cena. I couldn't care less about who Mcmahon's son is, just like I didn't give a damn about who "killed" him during the stupid death angle. I'm not a fan of Cena, but his feud with Orton is more interesting and important than Mcmahon's ego.

I agree. I've been a fan of Morrison for a long time, and he really pushed himself during the match with Punk this week. That split-legged corkscrew moonsault was especially amazing.

The OAO Thread For The Twentieth Annual SummerSlam Games
Wrestlefreak replied to RonL21's topic in The WWE Folder
So just when the hell is Cena gonna drop the belt? I was REALLY hoping they'd follow through and put Orton over. After he hit the RKO, I thought there was a big chance WWE would do it. Orton was way over with the crowd. Bottom line is, Orton should have won. Rey's return was virtually heatless. I wasn't even excited about it anyway, especially given that he that one-off comeback to put over Vince/ Trump at Mania. I like the way the did Triple H's entrance. The crowd reaction was great. I actually marked-out. The match was way too short though. It felt like the specific purpose was to bury King Booker. Yes, we all knew HHH was going over, but they could have at least made Booker a threat. Khali/Batista was pointless. -
I agree. The boxing segment was the worst, IMO. It made me cringe. The only good part was the RKO on the chair. Orton hit the move perfectly and the crowd reaction was great. I don't think we should expect too much from SNME. It's just a throwaway show that WWE occasionally pulls out to to build-up a PPV. That's really all it is.

Finlay/Noble had the potential to be good if they gave it enough instead of doing the interference from Kane. The match was good while it lasted.

OaO Monday Night Raw Thread - 08/13/07
Wrestlefreak replied to UseTheSledgehammerUh's topic in The WWE Folder
I loved Booker's intensity during the Lawler beatdown. The shouting with JR also helped the segment. -
This is sad news. Adams was good with the "Crush" gimmick, but I preferred him in Kronik.
-
I liked the druid thing with Mark Henry. They always build up Taker's returns interestingly. Hardy/Finlay was decent.
-
ECW really does make great use of its one-hour timeslot. It manages to easily be better than Raw. Punk/Morrison was good. Even the BigV/Boogey feud is more interesting than the Mcmahon crap on Raw.
-
I don't know if this has been mentioned already, but what the hell was up with Regal calling Umaga Umanga 3 times? You'd expect somebody to at least correct him. As I expected, the Mcmahon stuff was awful.
-
Khali's clawhold on Flair was laughable. Kane deserves to be a main-event player. They should have continued the three-way feud with him, Batista and Khali after GAB. IMO, it would have been alot more interesting.
-
It's so sad that WWE is deluded enough to believe that Vince is, or ever was, a ratings draw in any way whatsoever. I was hoping he would stay off-screen forever, especially after WWE had to drop the stupid death angle.
-
Good point. As a Cena hater myself, I've enjoyed the last two Raw endings. Plus I'm really hoping they follow through and job him to Orton at Summerslam. I know some of you are saying WWE will do that, but it's by no means a foregone conclusion. Orton has been built really well lately, so it would obviously make sense, but that doesn't mean WWE will do it. I just hope they do.
-
I hate that a crap worker like Khali is champ after we had great workers like Edge and Taker previously. I can't wait until the Smackdown roster gets back to normal, so that the show can regain its greatness. IMO, its still better than Raw or ECW.
-
MVP/Hardy was good. I also liked the clean finish, but the Playmaker was messed up. Umaga/Jeff was better than I expected.
-
Hardy/Kenny was OK, but not as good as Matt's recent matches with MVP. I'm looking forward to their match at GAB. The Pulumbo promo was funny. I'm really hoping WWE gives us a surprise by giving the championship to Kane at GAB, but we all know that's unlikely.

Edge injured; out of action for undetermined length of time
Wrestlefreak replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in The WWE Folder
That's a horrible choice. Batista last title reign was crap. He sucks. I'd rather have a year-long reign by Kane than even a week of Batista as champ again. This whole Edge situation sucks. First Taker, now Rated R? I was really enjoying Edge's title run. He has been an absolute joy to watch. I really hope he's back soon. -
The opening segment with King Booker was great. His gimmick is still VERY entertaining. The Triple H promo was so cool. I loved it. Cena and Lashley both suck! Nuff said.
-
Finlay/Yang was decent. Finlay rules! MVP was great on commentary. Edge was awesomely over-the-top in his celebration during the last segment. He's just so wonderfully charismatic. I love it.
-
Punk/Richards was awesome. Another example of how good Richards is. The new Viscera look is crazy. The flabby fat and tattoos is a strange mix. Like somebody already said, it's certainly unique. I'm really enjoying Nitro's title run. I've always liked him. He's a good worker and is improving rapidly. That corkscrew moonsault on the outside was great.
