I just saw a post on ESPN.com that says the Colts were caught pumping artificial crowd noise into the stadium today. Apparently they were discovered when the CD started skipping. Anyone hear anything about this?

Fabulous Moolah has passed away
milliondollarchamp replied to DerangedHermit's topic in The WWE Folder
An amazing testimony to Moolah's career was that she started wrestling the year Ric Flair was born and kept a presence in the ring into her late 70s. She started the year after the original National Wrestling Alliance was born and outlasted it, WCW, the AWA, WCCW, Mid-South/UWF and other promotions we grew up watching. -
I'm still most disturbed about 24. Considering their name and their concept, it's not like they can air anything less than 24 episodes. So how is that gonna work?

Heroes might be cut to 11 episodes due to writers' strike. Re-shoot has been requested to make the 11th episode the season finale.

Last-minute Hollywood labor talks break down Writers and producers are still far apart, making a strike more likely. The current contract expires at midnight. By Richard Verrier, Los Angeles Times Staff Writer November 1, 2007 It's a script many had hoped would not be written: Hollywood's film and TV scribes and their employers failed to reach an agreement on a new contract today, setting the stage for a possible showdown that could ripple across the streets of Los Angeles and into America's living rooms. Despite the presence of a federal mediator and more than a dozen bargaining sessions since July, negotiators for the Writers Guild of America and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers broke off talks before hashing out a last-minute deal on a new three-year contract. Talks ended after several hours tonight, about six hours before the current contract expires at midnight. In a statement, the alliance said talks broke down after its chief negotiator, Nick Counter, outlined the producers' opposition to raising the pay writers receive when their work is released on DVD -- a key guild demand. "We want to make a deal," he told WGA negotiators. "We think doing so is in your best interests, in your members' best interests, in the best interests of our companies and in the best interests of the industry. But, as I said, no further movement is possible to close the gap between us so long as your DVD proposal remains on the table." The alliance said WGA members refused to meet Thursday. "When they were asked about Friday, they advised they would call us." Guild officials were not immediately available for comment. The development doesn't guarantee an immediate walkout by writers but certainly heightens the prospect of Hollywood's first major strike in nearly two decades. Writers could work without a contract until a new deal can be reached, as the guild has done in previous negotiations. If a strike occurs, it would probably happen within a week and possibly as early as Friday, according to people close the guild. The writers' previous strike, in 1988, lasted 22 weeks and cost the industry an estimated $500 million. Economists estimate that a strike could have a more powerful punch on the local economy this time around because of the entertainment industry's expansion. Writers Guild members already have voted by a 90% majority to authorize their leaders to call a strike any time after their contract expires. However, the guild was expected to wait to strike at least until after a general membership meeting Thursday night. Guild leaders are expecting a large turnout and have booked space at the Los Angeles Convention Center to accommodate the crowds. About 12,000 writers are covered under the contract, but only a fraction of them work regularly. The purpose of the meeting is to "update everyone in person on negotiations and what our next options will be from that moment on," President Patric M. Verrone told guild members in a recent e-mail message. http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-writ...1,1210749.story

if Chicago wants Kobe, they are going to have to give up a lot of players. They already have a nice team dynamic going on, and are one of the best teams in the East. Kobe is very talented, but he cannot win games by himself. Even the greatest, Michael Jordan, had a good supporting cast with Pippen, Rodman, Kerr, etc.. Plus, Kobe by himself on the Lakers has not really given great results. I just do not think Kobe is worth giving up so much for one player. I do know that deep down Kobe wants to go to Chicago so he can try to be the next Michael Jordan and Deng can be his Pippen.

Maybe someone should change the title to Life, Not the Martin Lawrence film

Is anybody still watching this show? Sarah Shahi was fantastic in the final scenes, both with her assailant and leaning on Crews. the girl is not only gorgeous but she can act. I'm curious about where Reese fits into Crews' conspiracy web.

I think it's fascinating that they're already planning a spinoff based on character that doesn't even exist yet. Spin-offs are hard enough to pull off with already established and well liked characters let alone someone the audience hasn't even met yet.

WWE General Discussion - October 2007
milliondollarchamp replied to DrVenkman PhD's topic in The WWE Folder
In one weeks time (November 1st) WWE will be publicly revealing the names of any future wrestlers who violate their active Wellness Policy. "The talent were told that from now on, if you do test negative (SIC) or you violate the wellness policy, you will be publicly identified. And we do that in the belief it will give a greater transparency to the program, and hopefully, operate as a deterrence for anybody who wishes to engage in this kind of activity." (WWE Lawyer Jerry McDevitt shortly after the suspension story broke) To act as a deterrent the names of wrestlers will be published for the world to see on their corporate website, hopefully preventing any media backlash like we saw with the signature pharmacy bust. Many wrestlers within the company see this as WWE hanging them out to dry, Booker T naming this as one of the reasons why he left, along with their lack of support during the media bashing. It is unsure if WWE will officially make public the names they suspended during the pharmacy scandal, but if they did it could cause even more embarrassment for those that went on record claiming they were clean.
