Chris Benoit Dead - Toxicology results released
milliondollarchamp replied to Human Fly's topic in The WWE Folder
Dr. Phil Astin was released on a $125,000 secured bond today, and will be electronically monitored as a condition of his bond. Doug Evans, a reporter for Atlanta’s Fox affiliate, is reporting that federal investigators have seized medical records of professional wrestlers that were under the care of Dr. Astin. Evans said that investigators seized records after they noticed autographed photographs of wrestlers on Astin’s office walls. Evans also reports that the toxicology reports are key if Astin is be charged in the federal investigation. Astin has been a doctor to pro wrestlers and other pro and college athletes for years, dating back to the WCW days. Chris Benoit took out a new life insurance policy, which listed his ex-wife and oldest child David, 14, and Megan, 10, as the beneficiaries. Nancy apparently confronted Chris about it and he refused to change it. Nancy also found out that Chris Benoit set up a new bank account in the name of his ex-wife in Edmonton. -

Here's a link: http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archiv...071benoit1.html It's a copy of the search warrant on Dr. Astin on the Smoking Gun. Now, IMO, the pieces are finally falling into place. Apparently the DEA were already aware Benoit's prescription habits from another investigation. Found out from that how much, which drugs, and who from (Dr. Astin). My theory: Benoit found out the DEA were onto him. Explains a "call home for emergency", if there actually was one. ("Honey, some DEA agents came to the door asking for you...") No one is sure when or if call was placed. Explains Benoit's acts, as much as they can be explained----threat of jail, trial, job & career loss, divorce, loss of access to son, etc. Explains why the WWE are on their hind legs trying to take the focus off steroids. Explains why WWE would quickly offer the Fragile X as an alternate expanation for Chris's anxiety. Explains why Benoit was such a closed-mouth guy who was quiet and kept to himself. Explains a whole lot. The only thing it doesn't really explain is the wiki entry. I'll think. This is just my opinion. -

http://www.clarionledger.com/apps/pbcs.dll...0/NEWS/70630015 This article suggests that Benoit's GHB habit may have played a role in what happened. He apparently did GHB with Chris Adams, and we all know what happened with him. I had no clue Benoit abused that drug or that he did it with Adams. That theory is more believible than the "roid rage" hypothesis. -

He's right though. I can't disagree with him on anything. The only way for professional wrestling to get any better, is if it stops COMPLETELY and then is started up again. It is a highly unregulated business. -

I have to say the interview that filled in for Greta wasnt nearly as bad as most I don't know who she was but she mentioned that she read Jericho's book so she not only is a very good interviewer but she took the time to do some research about her guest. That's certainly more than any one else seems to have done. -

by Debbie Fernandez My name is Debbie Fernandez, wife of the late Ray “Hercules” Fernandez and I am writing to you because I am sickened by the recent tragic event to strike the Wrestling World. I am also appalled at the fact that Vince McMahon is trying to play off the idea that there is not a Steroid Use problem in the WWE. After Ray died, I was too devastated to open up a discussion regarding the deadly roll that Steroid use plays in the lives of these wrestlers, but now, after seeing yet another tragedy, I must speak up. Vince McMahon acquires these young men, who are eager to join the world of wrestling, and who do not know any better and think that they are going to be rich and famous, but at what price? He all but preaches that his Wrestlers do not take Steroids, and they are periodically tested, now does anyone really believe that? There is a reason why so many Wrestlers have died at such a young age, partly due to the Steroid use, and most importantly because most of them end their wrestling career with NOTHING! They have no health benefits, they have no retirement, and they are just tossed out like yesterdays trash. The only one who benefits from their blood, sweat and tears is Vince McMahon. They wrestle when their sick or hurt because they are so scared to lose their jobs, and they will, so the only way that they can stay in the game is to take steroids. Does Vince McMahon really expect us to believe that he knows nothing about the wrestlers using steroids? The problem is that like my husband, many of the wrestlers from that era were too loyal to the profession to say anything, because if you rocked the boat, you knew you were on your way out. They just had to suck it up and do whatever it took to keep their jobs. They control everything you do professionally and personally, right down to picking your accountant, so that he can steal you blind. With all the money that the WWE brings in, you would think that they would take care of their investments and offer them the proper benefits that they and their families deserve. Now, I do not believe that Chris Benoit’s actions were caused by Steroid use, but, I do feel that Vince McMahon should be held accountable for the fact that he IS aware of everything that is going on, and that the majority of Wrestlers do take Steroids. When is it going to be enough? When are these guys going to join together and realize that unless they stand up to McMahon and fight for the benefits that they deserve, and that the WWE can afford to give them, they are headed for an early grave. Sincerely, Debbie Fernandez -

In light of the Chris Benoit tragedy that took the life of Chris (40), his wife Nancy (43), and their 7-year old son Daniel, news of Mike Awesome's suicide is now coming to light. According to sources, Awesome was told by his wife that she was unhappy and wanted a divorce. Upon hearing the news, Awesome physically confronted his wife by grabbing her by the throat and throwing her against or into a wall. Awesome's wife called police and had Mike arrested for domestic abuse. While in jail Awesome was told by his wife that she was leaving him, taking his money, and, again according to sources, told the former ECW Champion that she "hated" him. She then took what she could from their home, threw out certain things that belonged to Awesome, and left. Sources claim that Awesome was beyond distraught and very depressed about the marriage, which he felt was stable and secure, all of a sudden being stripped out from under him. All of this transpiring while Awesome was still in jail, it should be noted. Shortly after returning home from jail, with nothing left to come back to, Awesome hanged himself. Friends discovered the body shortly afterwards. -
