milliondollarchamp replied to Matt Young's topic in The WWE Folder
Raw comes to Wilkes-Barre, PA on June 11. Anyone want to join me in my pursuit of the tag team championship? I live in PA ;p Do you think anyone would notice if some random fans won the tag belts? the WWE doesn't even have a real tag division. Or an IC belt division for that matter. I live in PA too all three of us can jump the Hardy's and win the belts. -

Source: PWTorch Newsletter Both, fans and superstars were surprised to see RVD win the match at WrestleMania. RVD has been in and out of the dog house for playing hardball with the WWE on his contract negotiations. RVD’s contract is set to expire at the end of the summer. The latest on negotiations between WWE and RVD are said to be going very well, which is the reason WWE didn’t bury him at WrestleMania. The general feeling backstage is that if he would have gotten buried it would sour negotiations. The feeling is that RVD would be crazy to leave, he has more than enough tenure to have a great downside guarantee in the 400k per year range. That is being offered on his current contract renewal. The possibility of TNA matching that kind of offer is slim to none. RVD is insisting on an extended leave from WWE, upon his contract renewal. Somewhere in the four to twelve month range. He is asking for time to recharge his battery, the full-time schedule is starting to wear him down quite a bit. By the sounds of it, WWE is willing to accommodate him on this request. Management has hinted to RVD several times that if he stays, he will be part of the family beyond his retirement with merchandising, Hall of Fame possibility and DVD’s. Things that TNA cannot match in the long run. So all in all, it looks like RVD may be sticking with WWE. However, we are still several months away and things can change.

sources: Pro Wrestling Torch, Wrestling Observer Newsletter Current plans call for Vince McMahon to wrestle Rey Mysterio at SummerSlam. A reason hasn't been given for Rebecca DiPietro's release, although it should be noted that Stephanie McMahon hated her. Even though Rebecca was in a relationship with Batista, she was not his exclusive girlfriend so it wasn't enough to save her. Regarding Batista, while the consensus of talent is that he's not into wrestling largely for money, others believe he's into it because he loves to play his role and because of the access to women. He's somewhat reclusive & shy and women have been throwing themselves towards him. It has been noted that Batista used to love to watch every match on the show and would find a location at every house show and TV taping to watch and study, learn what worked and what didn't work, and talk to HHH, Flair & other mentors to absorb what he could. Since returning from the last injury and fight with Booker, which lost him a lot of respect across the board, he's doing a lot less of that.

Husband Rips Wife's Eyes Out After She Refused Him Sex
milliondollarchamp posted a topic in Current Events
A MAN who ripped out his wife's eyes in a fit of rage was sentenced by a French court to 30 years behind bars today. Mohamed Hadfi, 31, tore out his 23-year-old wife Samira Bari's eyes following a heated argument in their apartment in the southern French city of Nimes in July 2003 after she refused to have sex with him. Ms Bari, who had demanded a divorce before the attack, was permanently blinded. Hadfi, a Moroccan, initially fled to Germany. He was finally arrested and sent back to France, where he was indicted for "acts of torture and barbarity leading to a permanent disability". Prosecutor Dominique Tourette demanded that Hadfi be sentenced to 30 years in prison, two thirds of which must be served in full, calling the defendant a "diabolic torturer". Once his sentence is served, Hadfi will be deported and barred from ever returning to France. His lawyer Jean-Pierre Cabanes meanwhile insisted there were extenuating circumstances. "This is the result of a marriage that was arranged, not chosen," he said, pointing to the gulf separating his client, who came from southern Morocco, and his young wife, who had grown up in France. Mr Cabanes begged the jury for leniency, claiming his client's action "appeared to stem from a mental illness." http://www.news.com.au/story/0,23599,21420231-2,00.html -

i dont know how reliable this is so take this with a grain of salt until it's confirmed "There was an incident backstage at Raw this afternoon, which resulted in Joey Mercury being fired and Stephanie McMahon being taken to a local hospital. Details are still coming in, but the early word is that Mercury snapped when the creative team told him that he and his partner Johnny Nitro would not be appearing at Wrestlemania 23. Not much is known, but word is that Mercury charged at Stephanie McMahon, knocking her into the side of a desk. He was immediately restrained by the rest of the creative team, and fired on the spot. Vince McMahon is said to be furious at the harm caused at his daughter, who had to be taken to a Chicago hospital for evaluation. Mercury may face criminal charges and possible jail time if WWE decides to follow through. Dave Meltzer will have much more on this situation as he gets it Wrestling Observer." thats how it was posted on another board so sadly i don't have a link

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - A man stabbed his 11-month-old son in the back, threw the boy out the car window with the kitchen knife stuck in his back and then drove away, police said Thursday. His 5-year-old son managed to escape unharmed. "He was conscious, but the knife was buried all the way to the handle," said Speedway Detective Jim Thiele. The boy, Devin Chandler, was in stable condition at a hospital Thursday. Officers had found Kevin Chandler's car but were searching for him. Thiele said Chandler is homeless and had been staying with some friends or family. Police think 31-year-old Chandler and the boy's mother, Angela Limbrock, were arguing as they prepared to leave Limbrock's apartment on the west side of Indianapolis Wednesday night. Limbrock handed Devin to Chandler so she could retrieve his car seat inside the home. As she left the car, she heard Chandler swear at the boy and turned around to see him throw Devin out of the car window, according to a police report. When Limbrock picked up her son, she saw a knife in his back, the report said. She ran back to the home, where residents called for an ambulance. "We're still trying to determine motive here, but at this point I have no reason to believe he did this to get back at the mother or anything," the detective said. Speedway Police Capt. Charles Upchurch said Thursday that the department will ask prosecutors to issue an arrest warrant if they do not locate Chandler. "I don't know why anyone would want to harm an 11-month-old baby," Morgan said. Chandler has been arrested several times for crimes including domestic battery, auto theft and driving while intoxicated, records show. He served time in an Indiana prison for cocaine possession and carrying an unlicensed firearm near school property, records show. In 2005, police arrested Chandler after he allegedly kicked Limbrock in the head and body. http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/03/15/toddler.knife.ap/index.html

SPOKANE, Wash. - Blues Traveler singer and harmonica player John Popper was arrested after the vehicle he was riding in was clocked going 111 mph, the Washington State Patrol said Wednesday. Popper, 39, was arrested Tuesday afternoon on Interstate 90 near the Spokane/Lincoln county line, the Washington State Patrol said. Inside the black Mercedes SUV, officers found a cache of weapons and a small amount of marijuana, the Patrol said. A police dog searched the vehicle, finding numerous hidden compartments containing four rifles, nine handguns and a switchblade knife. Authorities also found a Taser and night vision goggles. The vehicle was seized. Popper, who lives in Snohomish, Wash., is the owner of the vehicle, which was being driven by Brian Gourgeois, 34, of Austin, Texas, said state patrol Trooper Jeff Sevigney. The vehicle also had flashing emergency headlights, a siren and a public address system, the Patrol said. "Popper indicated to troopers that he had installed these items in his vehicle because (in the event of a natural disaster) he didn't want to be left behind," the Patrol said in a news release. He also told officers he collected weapons, the Patrol said. The two men were booked administratively into the Adams County jail and released on their own recognizance. Authorities plan to charge them with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Gourgeois will also face a charge of reckless driving, the Patrol said. Popper did not immediately return an e-mail seeking comment Wednesday night. Popper achieved fame as a harmonica player and frontman for Blues Traveler. The band won a Grammy award in 1996 for the song "Run-around," which Popper composed. Popper recently formed a group called The John Popper Project with DJ Logic, which released an album in 2006 and is scheduled to go on the road later this month. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070308/ap_en_...aJNBSDs78RxFb8C

Jesus, Mary and Joseph! What an incredible god damned episode! I loved how throughout the episodes it was hammered by others (except Claude) to Bennett that he wasn't a father but a surrogate but only in the end did he prove to Claire that he was the father she was looking for. It's too bad that she realized it so late now. I wonder how much of Bennett's memories are going to be taken? I predict somewhere in the future that if Claire and her dad meet again it won't end well.

Because Bam Bam Bigelow passed away with little to no money left, several Northeastern wrestlers led by wrestling legend Afa started to raise money for his funeral. Afa was recently contacted by WWE (it's been rumored that he'll be inducted into the Hall of Fame this year along with Sika), and in the course of his conversation with Vince McMahon, McMahon agreed to pay for the funeral. There were two funerals for Bigelow, one in New Jersey and one in Florida. McMahon payed for the NJ one. Local wrestlers in Florida raised money for the Florida one. Several members from his old biker club were at the NJ one, along with wrestlers from the NJ area. Also, Mick Foley was there. DDP flew from California and Brother Ray flew from Florida to attend the funeral as well.

the Kellerman/Sara relationship mirrors the Michael/Mahone relationship in that they are great adversaries. There also seems to be some sort of respect/touche in his laugh at the end of the Sara/Kellerman scene. It's almost like Kellerman's thinking, "Wow, you are definitely my equal. You aren't some weak, submissive little girl that's all emotionally torn up. I respect you, I am going to kill you, but I respect you. Oh, and I might be a little turned on by you as well."
