  1. The Eagles Friday announced they have agreed to terms with unrestricted free agent safety Sean Jones on a one-year contract.

A second-round draft choice of Cleveland in 2004, Jones (6-1, 225) has played in 60 games (44 starts) during his four-year career with the Browns, recording 286 tackles and three forced fumbles. The 27-year-old Jones ranks third among NFL safeties behind Ed Reed and Oshiomogho Atogwe with 14 interceptions since 2006. He is also one of just four players in the NFL to have at least four interceptions in each of the last three seasons. The others are new teammate Asante Samuel, the Packers' Charles Woodson and the Ravens' Ed Reed.

In 2008, Jones appeared in 12 games and recorded 69 tackles and four interceptions, including one at Philadelphia on December 15th. He underwent knee surgery following the first game of the season vs. Dallas, and was sidelined for the next four contests. Jones missed his rookie campaign after suffering a knee injury in a May minicamp, but rebounded in 2005 to appear in all 16 games and led the team with 20 special teams tackles. The following year, Jones was named the Browns' starting strong safety and went on to post consecutive seasons with 100-plus tackles and five interceptions from 2006-07. Jones also earned a spot on Sports Illustrated''s Dr. Z's All-Pro team following the 2006 season.

A former standout at the University of Georgia, Jones earned first-team All-America honors as a senior in 2003, after serving as the team's defensive captain. A two-time All-Southeastern Conference selection, Jones finished his collegiate career with 250 tackles, seven interceptions and a school-record four blocked kicks.

The Atlanta, GA, native attended Westlake High School. As a senior quarterback in 1999, Jones threw for 2,490 yards and 31 touchdowns, while rushing for 806 yards and 11 scores. He also notched 13 interceptions as a defensive back, en route to all-state and All-USA Today honorable mention honors.

  2. Man, Elizabeth Mitchell is hot.

The scene between Sawyer and Richard was great.... but what does this mean for the future when Richard encounters the Losties?

    Where are Rose and Bernard?

Wouldn't it be funny if the statue turns out to have Juliet's face?

  3. The Eagles announced that they are hosting free agent Shawn Springs Tuesday.

Multiple reports had Springs visiting the Patriots and Saints today, but those meetings may have been pushed back. There are rumors circulating that if Philly adds another cornerback Sheldon Brown will go on the trade block.

I have no idea what the Eagles front office is doing The only thing I can think of is this is Lurie & Reid's big Fuck you to McNabb since they are doing the opposite of what McNabb has asked. I am sure they'll remind us that they are the "Gold Standard"...."hey, we just went to the NFC Championship, everything is great!!!" The way Dawkins, Tra and Runyon is being treated is shameful.

  4. Rey Mysterio was not at TV this past week and will not be appearing on the WWE Northeast house shows this weekend either.

PWInsider.com has no confirmation as to why Mysterio has been pulled from the appearances at this time, but the belief among those I spoke to is it was likely a personal situation he needed to address in San Diego (where he resides), not a suspension or injury.

A planned Mysterio signing in Massapequa, NY will instead feature Chris Jericho.

Uh oh. I hope he isn't at home "taking care" of his sick wife and children.

EDIT: Damn, didn't realize someone already made a Benoit joke. I should read the entire page of posts next time.

I highly doubt he is going to Beniot his family. Rey's wife is like twice his size, she could easily take his ass out.

  5. Grace Park was fantastic she played three characters in this ep, and she managed to make them very distinct. she totally Single White Femaled herself.

Man, Helo, you really can't tell Boomer from Athena, can you? After all these years, he gets tricked exactly the same way.

Did anyone else notice how much Mr. Thrace resembled Leoben at certain angles or was it just me?

  6. Receiver T.J Houshmandzadeh has said that he'd like to play for the Eagles.

But, as it turns out, the Eagles might not be interested.

According to Derrick Gunn on Comcast SportsNet, the Eagles didn't react kindly to an effort by Houshmandzadeh to dupe the team into thinking that he was offering Philly a discount. After checking around, the Eagles reportedly learned that Houshmandzadeh's agent was actually asking for more money from the Eagles than from other teams.

Per Gunn, the Eagles previously had little interest in Houshmandzadeh. The alleged bait-and-swtich routine ensured that the Eagles won't make a play for him.

Meanwhile, league observers continue to believe that Houshmandzadeh won't strike it as rich as he'd prefer. As Howard Balzer of The Sports Xchange pointed out to me earlier in the day, Houshmandzadeh will be 32 later this year.

To put it bluntly, guys in their 30s rarely get rich in the early days of free agency.

  7. Not as good as last week, IMO, but still way better than the pilot. It seemed a little too heavy-handed with the moralizing and the story's been done before, although a suicidal pop star encouraging a psychotic fan was a nice twist.

    Lubov is an Active?

I'm shocked how fast that they're showing Echo's development.

Goddamn it, I'm getting hooked on another Whedon show. AND IT'S ON FOX AGAIN.

  8. The Jets and Eagles have agreed to a trade that will send a 2009 fifth-round pick and a 2010 conditional pick to the Eagles for CB Lito Sheppard.

The 2010 pick could be anywhere between a second and fourth-round pick, presumably depending on Sheppard's playing time. The price is too big for our tastes, but Sheppard would fill a big void opposite Darrelle Revis. We give the Eagles a lot of credit for holding on to Sheppard last year and getting this excellent value.

Eagles seem to be stockpiling picks maybe for a trade to get Boldin.

  9. Next week;

Charlotte under the hood? Big reunion. Looks awesome.

    What if its

Cassidy the women who Sawyer conned and had his baby?

I feel like this non-telling of Michael’s death is leading to a rageful Walt storyline in the future
