In this last season I finished in HOF mode, Mathias Kiwanuka had 14 sacks....but only 12 tackles. I don't know how that works. I'm pretty sure a sack counts as a tackle. Since you know, you're tackling the QB behind the line of scrimmage. Eh, minor gripe.

It did that once while I was checking my cell phone in HOF mode. Hasn't happened since.

A few thoughts after playing this for a few days... -I'm really liking HOF mode after starting a new one as a Vick-like QB. I guess I like the ability to have more control of the offense. I just wish I had more time to play it. -Does it seem sort of lazy to anybody else how a lot of the rookies and second-year players don't have pictures? Like how Reggie Bush has a picture, but Mario Williams(you know, the number one draft pick) doesn't? And how they basically just gave all of them close crop hair, when they obviously don't? I don't know, that just annoys me. Maybe it's just the PS2 verison. -My agent threatened to choke slam me after I fired him. That was awesome.

In other news, the Rams signed Stephen Davis. SUPERBOWL HERE WE COME WOOOO Actually, he was fairly inexpensive and will serve as a good backup to Steven Jackson, so this was a good move really.

Well, it was used pretty well in the movie "Dumb and Dumber".

Man, it was pretty nice to see the Cards beat the crap out of somebody for a change. Also, Mulder is most likely done for the season. Oh well, not like we'll miss the 7.14 ERA too much.

Okay, I'll make the case for Pujols as MVP. 1. He is the best hitter in the majors this year. .323/.424/.665 He is even better with runners in scoring position: .398/.541/.776 2. He plays one of, if not the, best first base in the league. Yeah, it's first base and not centerfield or shortstop or something, but that has to count for something. 3. The rest of the team is just not very good. Rolen is good, Carpenter is good, Duncan has been surprisingly good for the short amount of time he's been playing, the rest are pretty much average to terrible. It's pretty scary to think about where this team would be without Pujols there, especailly when he quite literally carried the team the first month of the season. Although, truth be told, I wouldn't really be that upset if he didn't win. I'm just glad he finally won it last year. Damn Barry Bonds. Also, hey look Mark Mulder still sucks.

Whoa, I heard that the Texans may cut Domanick Davis. I didn't think that the Texans needed to draft Reggie Bush, but now I think I'm going to go ahead and change my opinion....

Calvin and Hobbes is so great. I think my favorite is the one where Calvin builds a snowman called something like "The agony of existance weighed against the horror of nonbeing". I thought that was the best thing I ever saw when I was little.

I want to feel good about this game, but the fact that the Cubs have pretty much given the Cards all these runs isn't exactly encouraging. I'll take it for now, though.

The only way I could get the fininishing moves to happen was to play 2 player mode by myself, take the other guy's health down next to nothing, and then position him so that a light jab or something would send him into the correct spot. The only one I couldn't get was the caveman dude's, for whatever reason.

Man, I don't know about being on the Eagles. It seems like Donovan takes off running like every other passing play, which is bringing my receptions down. I'm starting to see where TO was coming from. Throw me the damn ball! After realizing that my name is pretty lame, I am content to be known as "the Pujols guy".

Okay, I bought the game, and playing as a Wide Reciever in Hall of Fame mode is pretty damn fun. Especailly since I planned on being a dickish egomaniac type guy, and ironically I got drafted by the Eagles. I'm going to acquire the Drew Rosenhaus-esque agent as soon as possible, and start rasing hell in Philly.

With our pitching, of course the Reds have a chance. With the exception of Carpenter, the pitching on this team is pretty much terrible. I'm pretty sure that every starter besides Carpenter has an ERA over 5, some over 6. I think maybe Reyes had an ERA just under 5, but he was sent down.

Yeah...uh....nevermind.

To any one who has played a year in franchise mode(maybe too early to ask, I know), do the running backs still get rediculous amounts of yards every year still? I swear, every year in the last game either Clinton Portis, Jamal Lewis, Ladanian Tomlinson, or all three would get 2500+ yards on 450+ carries. I don't know why, it just bothered me to see the rushing record being destroyed every year.

I saw a video of that on Around The Horn. Censored, of course. It came out of nowhere, and made me laugh quite a bit.
