So apparently Bonds finally hit a home run. I learned this from the huge BREAKING NEWS OMG section of the front page of ESPN.com.
-
Sweet, the Cards have a chance to return the favor tomorrow with a sweep of their own. Izzy looked good too, that error aside.
-
Wainwright looks pretty good, at least in relief. With most of the rotation set to become free agents this year, this makes me happy.
-
I haven't heard Omar Jacobs name mentioned at all, anyone know which round he's projected to go? I would have thought that he would be a good prospect.
-
Very fun game to watch so far after that sweep. Therapeutic, I would say. Hopefully, the bullpen won't blow it.
-
Albert is simply on fire. Number 11 for him in the first inning against the Cubs.
-
Yeesh, that's rough. Even if it is the Cubs, I hate to see a player like Lee go down.
-
I would definitely reccomend the Song of Ice and Fire books by George R.R. Martin. If you are at all interested in fantasy type stuff, this is the best I've ever read. He does have a penchant for killing off characters, but that's actually welcome after all the fantasy books I have read where all the main characters are nigh invincible, which makes for a pretty boring story.

Damn it, I go to my relative's for easter dinner, and end up missing the Cardinals game. M-maybe he'll hit 3 more tomorrow? Perhaps?
-
No shutout today, 3 runs in the first inning.
-
naiwf thinks something is overrated? NO WAI!
-
So the Cardinals were shut out at home by the Reds. Man, what. Edit: And Tony Womack had a game saving defensive play no less.
-
.....And then hit a home run to give the brewers the lead. Friggin Carlos Lee.
-
Shit, Carlos Lee jumped up and took away a walk off homerun from Jaun Encarnacion. Just when he was starting to get going, too.
-
Why exactly are they having a draft special when the actual draft is still about 3 weeks away?
-
Hmmm, so Looper comes in to close out the game and after looking pretty good and getting a double play, it's followed by a double and an RBI single, and he's taken out as Izzy attempts to get the final out. Hope this isn't a sign of things to come. Aaaand Izzy gives up an RBI single, then walks the next guy. Come on, get the last out please. EDIT: Finally. I see there are still some bullpen "issues". Anyway, besides that final inning, this was pretty much a perfect opening day. Albert hit a home run, Rolen had 2 RBIs and a great play at third, Mulder had 8 strong innings and a homerun. Good way to bounce back from getting owned by the Cubbies.
-
Hey, a home run for Mark Mulder. Jason Marquis might have some new competition for that Silver Slugger now.
-
Very enjoyable opening ceremonies in the new Busch Stadium, great to see guys like Stan Musial and Bob Gibson. Stadium looks good, too.
-
I thought that inning would never end, geez.
-
Well, if you mean me Czech, I'm in southern Illinois, so It's not exactly North Shore here. I'm actually only about an hour's drive away from St. Louis, so pretty much every one here is a Cardinals fan.
-
Damn, and I was gonna start a Sidney Ponson Cy Young watch too....
-
So 5-0 Cubbies. Kind of brought me back down to earth after that sweep. But then, the Cubs won 10 out of 16 against the Cardinals last year, so I shouldn't be too surprised, I guess.

I love watching the Cubs/Cardinals games, and switching between WGN and FSN Midwest to hear the different reactions from each team's announcers. Makes it more enjoyable, for some reason.
