Paul Bearer re-signs with the WWE
bradolson replied to Open the Muggy Gate's topic in The WWE Folder
That "Legends" Program sounds interesting. I wonder what other guys are a part of that program. Seems like it works well for both WWE and the performers. -
My predictions of what they might do (not what they should do): SD to RAW: JBL, Carlito, Haas, Torrie, Rene Dupree RAW to SD: Christian, Tomko, Orton, Lita, Daivari

For those who haven't gotten the DVD yet, you can get both the ECW shirt and DVD for $24.97: http://shopzone.wwe.com/product_detail.asp...0739&cat=SEARCH

It could be worse. It could have a big "presented by Skittles" logo or some other sponsor like most of their other PPVs.

For anyone with XM, Matt Hardy is going to be on Opie & Anthony (channel 202) in the next few minutes talking about the situation.

if they go to HD, i'm sure JR will claim the next camera HHH destroys with the sledgehammer is worth around half a million

Of that $37 million in ad revenue, "only" $13 million was profit (according to one of the previous posts). If USA is keeping the ad money with this new deal, one would think that they are going to pay WWE more for the actual programming than they got on SpikeTV. So in the end, it could be a very similar amount. But it means that WWE no longer has to sell the ads themselves, which will save them some cash. Plus getting paid a fixed amount helps in case the overall TV ad market declines in the next few years. They will still have the stability of a constant source of revenue.

I bet that was part of it. He's using whatever celebrity fame he has left to get his daughter's career off the ground. He seems to show up at every award show with her.

When I saw the RR poster I thought for a second they might be bringing back the old triple-cage match from WCW, lol.

I just got back from the show. They did a big tribute to Patterson after they went off the air. Vince came out, said some nice things and brought Patterson out. Then he made Pat sing Sinatra's "My Way". Then Shane and Stephanie came out and Pat sung some more as he slowly made his way up the ramp. They were taping it all, so it'll end up as a DVD extra possibly.

Also keep in mind that the GAB was "free" to military personnel, but they still had to order it and pay for it as usual, and then got reimbursed later on, so that could explain the high number for the show.
-
I'll go with Tim McCarver as well. Typical McCarver "analysis": "ya see, that was a hit-and-run situation. the way a hit-and-run works is that the runner runs when the pitch is thrown and the hitter tries to hit the ball to advance the runner"
-
this was my first time seeing TNA for any length of time. i thought i was OK, but did nothing to make me want to order the PPV. if i were them, i'd cut back on the PPVs to maybe one every 3 weeks. then you get 3 weeks of build-up (more than WWE gives most PPV feuds) and you can charge $20 for the PPV. i'd think you would get more buys for $20 every 3 weeks compared to $10 every week so the revenue would be about the same but the cost of producing PPVs would be cut by 2/3.
-
don't forget that wwe will probably count all the "free" buys that members of the military order because they will order normally and just get reimbursed the $35 when they send in their cable/satellite bill. so the GAB should have an artificially high buyrate.

dont forget to add one of these for 98 cents:

Heat to remain in same timeslot... As reported earlier, WWE is shaking up their TV schedule. Confidential is being dropped, Velocity is being moved up to an earlier Saturday evening timeslot, and the plan is to introduce a brand new Sunday morning show. Heat will not move as previously reported. It is unknown what type of show will fill the Sunday morning slot. Credit: PWTorch.com

i was there at no way out when they first came back. before the show everyone in the crowd was so excited to see them and they got a huge pop the first time they came out. but then at the end of the show when they came down and spray painted austin everyone was like "we've seen this already" and became tired of them already, after one show.

Vince McMahon Speaks On WM, The Rock, WCW, More
bradolson replied to EdwardKnoxII's topic in The WWE Folder
And yet reports claimed they offered Howard Stern a half million to appear. -
Part of me agrees with this post. There are a lot of the parts of this story that don't make much since. But we'll see...

i'll probably get the webcast, or else dl it from usenet the next day

Personally, I think that it would be terrible for guys like Venis who've been with the company for so long to be left off the card. With this long of a show, they should be able to find a way to get them on there somehow, even if it's an 8-man tag that lasts 7-10 minutes total. Reward the guys who have stuck with you so long and have helped you make it to WMXX by getting them on one of the biggest shows in the company's history. Just my opinion. Brad

from 411: Change In Plans For Benoit/Triple H WMXX Match Posted By Ashish on 02.02.04 HBK sticks his nose in... The plan now for the WrestleMania XX World Title match is to have a three way involving Triple H, Chris Benoit, and Shawn Michaels. It was originally thought that Triple H and Benoit would go one on one for the title. Credit: PWInsider.com

I think everyone is forgetting that this is still the WWE. Personally I wouldn't be shocked at all if Benoit would lose his WM title shot as a result of losing some match between now and then, either on Raw or SD. Maybe he moves to Raw and HBK challenges him to a career vs. title shot match in a month or so. It can happen.

a Benoit for Goldberg trade would be the easiest way to set everything up
