ECW gets a normal time slot

There is no way that they can successfully relaunch the ECW brand without a tv deal, no matter what channel its on. Particularly if this is a move to try and compete with TNA.

ECW gets a normal time slot

They only showed the first season over here on commercial tv, so I'm waiting for season 2 on dvd. That show is like crack though.

ECW gets a normal time slot

Is it still going to be aired in Velocity's timeslot overseas?

The OaO Raw thread for 05/15/06

I don't understand the SS hate. They're good workers and they work the crowd well too. Sure the gimmick is kind of overdone but that's the whole fucking point of it and they play it well. And it's not X-Pac heat.

The OaO Raw thread for 05/15/06

Sounds like a good show this week, it airs here tomorrow afternoon. HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!?????????? ...
  7. It's not them fighting each other that is tiring, it's them fighting each other with Cena always coming out on top. If he'd drop the title again, but for months rather than weeks it would do a hell of a lot to help the staleness in the Raw main event scene. I don't see why they're so scared to take the belt from Cena, if you book it properly, he'll come out stronger on the other end of a run without it.

    OAO Friday Night Smackdown! Thread

They could consider bringing someone who's not doing a whole lot like Carlito over to Smackdown and giving them a push against JBL. It'd help him complete his turn to cocky face as well. A month ago I would have said send Edge across to play top heel but his hardcore protege angle with Foley could be interesting and JBL has been getting insane heat the past 2 weeks.
  9. I don't think RVD is really likely to be the one to take the belt from Cena no matter what the situation is.
  10. This part of your booking presents the potential problem of Burchill being seriously injured by someone who shouldn't be in a professional wrestling match in the first place. Call me crazy but I'd rather see pirate boy alive and in a 10 minute match each week than Khali screaming incoherently into a mic.

    The Great American Bash

I'll be surprised and dissapointed if they don't pull Khali immediately after JD. Definately can't see him sticking around until the GAB but who knows, stupider things have happened with WWE creative. OMG HE IZ TALL LOL HE SQUASH REY GOOD. Hopefully that kind of prevailing attitude stops before he kills someone in the ring.

Benoit vs Regal on Velocity was a great little match.

Batista and Booker T get into a fight?

OMG SHOOT!!! It's called make up. I'm not saying it's shoot or worked because honestly I don't really care. Just thought I'd post that his eye was almost swollen closed because they broadcast Smackdown early over here and someone might be interested.
  15. This week was a truly terrible show. Lashley vs Finlay should have been able to salvage it but 4/5 of the match was Finlay putting Lashley in a sleeper/choke hold. The Gymini are boring workers with a boring moveset and yet they keep getting air time. For some ungodly reason Burchill looked like a complete pussy for the second week in a row, and the Khali/Rey match seriously destroyed any tiny shred of credibility Mysterio might have had as World Champ, in front of his home crowd no less. MNM getting de-pantsed by London, Kendrick and Jillian was the highlight of the show.

Batista and Booker T get into a fight?

Watching Smackdown right now and Booker T is sporting a black eye with no explanation.

Batista and Booker T get into a fight?

Foley is acting like it was shoot in his latest blog entry. http://www.wwe.com/superstars/raw/mickfoley/blog051106
  18. The rumors about JBL going over are because Rey needs knee surgery pretty badly but is putting it off because of Smackdown's main event depth issues.
  19. Why are they jobbing out their World Champion to monster heels? Mysterio should be being portrayed as an ass-kicking machine who'll defend his title against anyone at any time and never give up until he wins. More importantly, why are they putting Khali over him when they've just pulled the guy from the European tour because he can't work? Same goes with Burchill, he jobbed to Road Warrior of all people last week, and Henry this week? Brainless booking. I read the results on PWTorch as well, and all the Velocity matches bar the first one sound pretty solid. London, Kendrick and Jillian sounds like a good combo. I can't stand the Gymini though, they are so boring. Get Benoit and Scott into a meaningful mentor/protege fued with whoever else instead of wasting TV time on Jesse and Jake. I'm looking forward to Lashley vs Booker now. Either one could win and it'd be fine by me. Both of them should be upper midcard or main eventing right now anyway.

    WON News and Notes, 8/5

This ECW deal is sounding more promising every week. It really should be taped after Smackdown, not before it though. Moving Coach to a managerial role is a great move. Have him talk it up how he's the Coach and Shelton is the most gifted athlete so it seemed like a natural fit and he's gonna coach him and make him unbeatable, then trial it in a feud with Haas or Carlito with the IC title. Have RVD boost the title's credibility for a bit, then give it to Haas as a sign of respect before he leaves for ECW. Haas says he'll defend it against anyone any time and Shelton rips on him, saying he doesn't deserve it etc. Carlito tells Shelton that he's not cool, and he wants a title shot from Haas.

    The OAO RAW Thread 8/5/2006

The very fact that they get such strong negative reactions from marks AND smarks suggests to me that the gimmick is working well. They're supposed to come off as circle-jerking frat boys, and they're a hell of a lot more entertaining to watch than generic heels like Road Warrior or Khali. And Hawk52 is bang on, they're excellent tag-team workers which are few and far between in WWE at the moment and Ken Doane undoubtedly has future main event talent.

    The OAO RAW Thread 8/5/2006

    Haha, nice pun.
  23. Sounds pretty solid. It'd be nice if WWE surprised us and came out with booking like this for once. I guess it comes down to whether protecting Cena or getting this ECW brand off to a good start is more important. I disagree with you that Cena is playing a heel though, I think its more like a really watered down version of an anti-authority late 90s Stone Cold type character. The respect angle with RVD could work in that sense, especially if they let him cut promos like yours. The problem with that direction is that there's the possibility that the fans will turn on RVD no matter how over he is if they don't respect Cena. Judging from the last part of Joey Styles' promo last week they could even be aiming for that kind of effect. It'd be a stupid way to go about it though, but hey, Road Warrior also beat Paul Burchill with a powerslam on Smackdown last week so pretty much anything is possible booking-wise.

Smackdown Spoilers for the 5/5 Airing

I actually thought he must have been injured at first and just not been able to kick out of the pin. It was such a weird result.
  25. How do you work the RVD title shot at ONS II into that situation without a Cena heel turn but still keeping him relatively clear of the ECW brand?
