    UFC 68- 03/03/07

Also, did anybody else notice Batista sitting right behind Anderson Silva? Almost every time they cut to Silva for a reaction he was in shot. WWE can't be too happy about it with their policy of not acknowledging competitors.

You're right. From halfway through round 2 I couldn't believe Rogan saying he doesn't get the Sylvia hate and thinks he's criminally underrated. It was totally clear in the way Sylvia completely failed to adapt to Randy's strategy.

According to Rich Franklin and Dana the rematch with Silva will be in Cincinnati, maybe you can go to that one. Amazing fight from Randy, totally not what I expected to see.

    UFC 68- 03/03/07

Sylvia sucks and Randy is pissing all over his own legacy by even fighting him. I don't want to see Randy lose but I do want to see Cro Cop KO Sylvia for the title so I'm torn.

    UFC 67: All or Nothing

My PPV provider over here carried this show on short notice, I only found out about it yesterday and ordered it right away. Hopefully they carry more this year. Smith-Cote was pretty painful to watch, but was easily made up for by the amazing Griffin-Edgar fight. I'd never seen Cro Cop in action before today and I'd say he's my new favourite HW fighter. Has he ever fought Arlovski before? Rampage looked unsettled at first but then dominated. Really looking forward to him challenging Chuck. Oh, and fuck Lutter. Not being able to cut 2 pounds and make weight for a title shot with the amount of buildup he had is a fucking joke and he deserved to be made to look like an ass.
  6. It doesn't matter if he's called Monty Brown or not, anybody who googles his new name will only find profiles that will say he is Monty Brown and was in TNA. The only thing to come out of this will be exactly what Lagana says, they won't be able to use his past to put him over in the eyes of their ignorant fans. Apparently Vince thinks wwe.com is the only wrestling website on the internet now.

    OAO Monday Night Raw Thread-1/15/2007

See point b. It's possible and I would think necessary for business to be a heel without doing shit that will turn away viewers. Also, the fat DX fan who did a crotch chop at the security guard who took his sign was awesome.

    OAO Monday Night Raw Thread-1/15/2007

The Vince/Carlito segment was surreal. Carlito actually says what we all think, on-air, face to face with Vince. And then Khali comes out. This week Vince McMahon proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that either: a) He does listen to the fans but really has no idea what they want to see, completely missing the irony of following Carlito saying "they want to see people fight" with a beat down by possibly the worst, most heatless pro wrestler going around. or b) He doesn't listen and doesn't care and it isn't likely to change until the company is on the verge of going under. Maybe not even then. Either way, its staggering that a man with such an attitude towards his consumers is the head of a publicly traded, multi-million dollar company.

Comments that don't warrant a thread

Anyone else got Rainbow Six: Vegas? I've been trying to get co-op story mode or even co-op terrorist hunt to work with 3 players and I'm not sure if I'm just retarded or you can't have an odd number of players for some reason.

    Dec/22/2006 Smackdown Thread

Another good show. Mercury was a champ to be at that taping, and Nitro and Matt are looking great despite doing both shows for the past month or so. I was also surprised to see Ashley bring the workrate in the Divas tag match, hopefully from hanging around London and Kendrick recently she's improving like Candice has been and it wasn't just a flukey good night. Bring Carlito over to Smackdown and push him to #2 face.

What's with WWE and undefeated streaks?

Mr. Kennedy had an undefeated streak. So did Bobby Lashley.

    Armageddon 2006 Thread

I didn't order this show because the matches were all stuff we've already seen, just gimmicked up for no reason. If the the ladder stipulation and the Hardyz/MNM were announced beforehand, I would have ordered it. It pisses me off that WWE does this, while on cards that genuinely interest me on paper and I spend my money on like Summerslam and Survivor Series the booking and matches are completely retarded. Armageddon will now probably get a low buyrate, and something that I would have actually enjoyed watching won't happen again because god knows that having a PPV headlined with a fucking thrown-together tag match instead of a title match couldn't possibly be the reason for it.

    WWE announces 2006 DVDs

I've got a few of the documentary DVDs, my favourites are the Bret one and the Benoit one. Haven't got the Pillman one yet but I'm intending to.

Can HHH have the title back please?

Smith has a great look and good charisma from when I saw him wrestle Striker earlier this year.

Things we didn't know a year ago

Vickie Guerrero would be on-air talent. Mick Foley would voluntarily join the KMAC for Melina, of all people. Hulk Hogan would return (again) only to tear his meniscus when getting up from the couch. Jeff Hardy would return and appear to be drug-free. RVD would fuck up after finally being given the ball in just about the biggest way possible. Edge would win the tag titles with ANOTHER random partner. Edge would manage to carry a dramatic and entertaining TLC match with a broken-down Ric Flair.

Can HHH have the title back please?

Without bringing potential trades from SD into the equation, I'd like a competetive HBK/Edge feud over the title, personally. Competetive being the key word. Edge haters be damned.
  21. I was watching Late Night With Conan O'Brian, and he reported that Kevin Federline was competing in an upcoming professional wrestling match. Then he said "I can't believe I'm saying this, but I expected better from professional wrestling."

    2006 in review...

Wrestler of the year: Edge Tag-team/Stable of the year: London and Kendrick Match of the year: Edge/Foley at WM Best heel: Edge Best face: Trish Stratus Most improved wrestler: Jeff Hardy Quote of the year: Some JBL line probably Markout moment of the year: Trish winning in her retirement match with the Sharpshooter in Toronto, Edge winning the WWE title on Raw Funniest moment of the year: Maria and Jeff watching paint dry like Nitro and Melina's promos was hilarious to me Worst moment of the year: So many... Edge losing the title in Toronto, Lita being humiliated after her final match, DX burying the entire Raw tag division, Federline being on my TV, Rey getting jobbed out as champion, Eddie's in hell, etc. Worst wrestler of the year: Khali Best brand: Smackdown Worst brand: ECW Best PPV: ONS2 Worst PPV: Summerslam (I didn't see D2D) Biggest disappointment: Edge gradually being made Cena's bitch Total Package: Edge Best Comeback: Finlay Best feud: Mickie vs Trish Worst feud: McMahon(s) vs HBK/DX, Khali vs Taker Best Diva: Mickie James Worst Diva: Layla and the rest of the Diva Search 06 airheads
  23. It's definately smaller than the WHC, and the WWE title has the spinner and all that shiny crap on it that makes it look pretty big. TBS is huge though, the belt looked pretty normal on RVD when he had it. If anyone has a screen cap or picture of RVD on the show when Heyman presented him with the new ECW belt, it looks obviously smaller and the strap stiffer and shit.

    Dec/1/2006 Smackdown Thread

They should just unify the tag titles and have the champions defend against teams based on Raw/SD/ECW. We'd have London/Kendrick, Cryme Tyme, The Highlanders, The Hardyz (if they officially reform), James/Stevens (when Michelle McCool is healthy), MNM is an option but they're supposed to be separating again after D2D, The FBI, Terkay/Burke, Sandman/Dreamer, Vis/Haas, Cade/Murdoch. I'm sure there are others that I'm forgetting as well. There's some potential for interesting match combinations there. At the moment they're just spread way too thinly with like 3 teams on each brand. Unify the titles, and allow teams from different shows to challenge each other.
