I don't have a problem with him using "tactics", but seeing exactly the same sleeper hold/headlock put on 6 times in the one match is boring. The other aspects of the match were fine but the flow of both wrestlers' moves was constantly being interrupted until I found it borderline frustrating that he wouldn't put on a hold with the tiniest bit of variety.

That's easy: either just ignore the sound or put the TV on mute, and watch the crowd instead. There's no way that even the WWE's magic editing machines can concoct a shot of all the people in the background standing up and cheering during a match. And judging by the massively positive response Rey got on the show tonight, I'd say this whole thread is a moot issue. As a side note: Did anyone else notice that the subject of Eddie barely seemed to come up? The announce team sort of brought it up a couple of times, but they always seemed forced. For instance Taz mentioned Rey "pointing towards the heavens", but it just looked like a pause in his pounding of the turn buckles to me. Also of note: Rey only had one arm band on tonight and it was in the original black and white rather then color cooridnated to his tights. Rey never made an overt reference to Eddie. Biggest Eddie reference was the CROWD chanting Eddie's name. It was only one show, but it made me hopeful that Rey's actual run with the belt may "stand on it's own merits" as it were rather then being a glorified Eddie Memorial Tour. I noticed that as well. Hopefully you're right.

Matt Hardy squashes Colt Cabana and Road Warrior beats him up afterwards. EDIT: Nope, looks like Lashley and Finlay's fued is done.

Watching Velocity and Finlay just squashed Psicosis and Lashley and Vito is the next match. Maybe they'll do a run-in or something.

I thought the Orton/Mysterio match was horrible but the rest of it was decent. Singh's judo chop to the head was hilarious. I'd love to see Edge moved to Smackdown as number one heel rather than Orton, as well as a London and Kendrick/MNM fued. I agree Gunner Scott/Brent Albright seemed pretty solid and I'm a fan of Burchill too, the pirate gimmick is amusing.

Maybe they want to go for an angle with the GUNNER and the CRIPPLER teaming up to kick some ass or something stupid like that

Randy was suspended before this show was taped right? I thought he seemed genuinely pissed off about his match with Angle next week.

Hopefully the opening match on Smackdown is an indication of an MNM/London+Kendrick direction after all. Now if they'd only give both teams some promo time...

I counted 6 rest holds that Orton put on Mysterio, and i fixed a snack halfway through the match. Anybody else notice that?

Smackdown is on in Australia right now, and the spoilers were right for the first match. Looks like they're setting up London and Kendrick to feud with MNM

Hardyz/MNM/London and Kendrick feud could potentially produce some great matches, especially with the Mexicools and Spirit Squad thrown into the mix. Even if they paired Matt Hardy with Shannon Moore instead of bringing Jeff back in it could work. Huge potential is there if creative would just get their shit together and book it.

So you hated the Hardyz, E&C, Rockers, Demoltion, MVC and countless other tag teams? They all pretty much fit the "indistinguishable partners" make-up. I should have been more clear. I meant todays WWE. Like any randon Jindrak look a like. By the way, with the exception of the Hardys, all those guys had big personalities. The Hardyz made up for lack of personalities in other ways though, they definately weren't a bland team

Yeah that could be nice. I said this in a different thread the other day but I think MNM could have a great fued with London and Kendrick

I'd like to see it if only to get Lashley in the ring against someone like Kurt Angle or Mark Henry rather than another feud with Finlay or going back to OVW which would hinder rather than help him IMO. He's getting some decent pops from the fans and I agree that he's developing really well on a larger stage with vets like Finlay and Benoit, so why ship him out of the spotlight? Smackdown on the whole seems to me to be doing better with their midcard development than does RAW anyway.
