    Mike Awesome dies

He was the main reason I tuned into ECW during the iffy TNN era. Poor bastard, he will be missed
  2. Don't worry, I'll paint that wagon with you. I don't understand the Davey-Hate either. And he's in no way an AJ clone. But I do agree he sort of needed direction, the KENTA's-pupil thing was getting pretty tired. Hopefully this semi-heel turn with Strong will help that.
  3. Nigel and Rave for sure. Whitmer as champ, I dunno, I just can't buy it, because of how often he's LOST in the past... Ya he did eventually "end the CZW feud" with War of the Wire, but overall it just seemed like he was getting killed... And taken out of action by Jimmy Jacobs twice? eeeeeh.... Delirious on the other hand, I would be perfectly comfortable as champ except that his gimmick requires him to spout gibberish for promos--you can't cut promos that support the whole damn company when you talk like that. Having said that, I'd completely mark if he got the title somehow. This is why I truly believe they need another, mid-card title. Either that or make the FIP title a regular occurance, and have Delirious, Davey Richards, etc feud for it... But then it could sort of be seen as "inferior" to the ROH straps. I dunno.
  4. Ya, I'm not so sure now, that I've looked at the dates. I've got to expect a Morishima title run until the summer now, with Nigel or a returning Danielson winning it back then. And if it's Danielson, the only way he's winning it is by "SURPRISUUU ROLLUPUUUUU" like every other "junior heavyweight beating a heavyweight" scenerio... This is the definite downside to the GPWA formation--ROH will definitely be influenced by the "big guy always beats the smaller guy" syndrome from Japan.
  5. Well.... I'm not unhappy that Morishima has the belt. But I am unhappy that Homicide jobbed so early. I have a feeling Sapolsky is getting paranoid now about TNA locking up Homicide next. This situation just really sucks. The only credible guy I see to beat Morishima now (in Misawa's mind) is Nigel. In everyone else's mind, Danielson can still become the first two-time ROH champ, thankyouverymuch. On the plus side, this means I'll likely get to see Morishima in person at the Wrestlemania Doubleshot.

What game(s) are you playing now?

It's worth it. Fun. For me though, I'm finding I dislike it purely because of the lack of sidequests, or even much ability to branch off. You really are forced to follow the story with a few minor exceptions. I'm disappointed in it from that standpoint.

What game(s) are you playing now?

Still making my way slowly through FF12... The woman gets the living room at night, so I can't play then. Luckily I just bought an RCA -> VGA converter so I'll be playing it in my office on the LCD soon. Also in the middle of GTR2, as always, and I started Marvel Ultimate Alliance--pretty formulaic and almost identical to the two X-Men Legends games, but I guess it's still good fun.

    2006 MOTYC

Two were ROH matches and one was NOAH.... I have the match of the year by itself, if that's what you're asking...

100 reasons why Sega is/was stupid.

I really should ebay one one of these days.... Is there even a decent DC emulator for Windows?

    PS2 Mod Chips.

Right there I honestly forget where I bought it, but I think it was modchip.com. You have to take the PS2 apart to install it, but it's very straightforward and you can't really break anything if you do it carefully.

TV deaths that pissed you off or upset you

Trip dying on the last episode of Enterprise. Of course, there were a million things wrong with the show that I could go into... but it was a senseless death written into the episode in a vain attempt to make it seem more "important" than the rest of the clusterfucks that had been written. Looks like the books are correcting it though...

    Admit It...

Okay.... I'll confess. For me, it's goofy WCW tag teams. In particular, Kronic. Just briefly. I mean, after their push faded a little, they got worse and worse because they just started phoning it in on WCW Saturday Night and the like. But when they first got together, for some reason they had the kind of look and intensity (and entrance music) to make me think they could be awesome. How little I knew. Oh, and High Voltage. For all the same reasons. I was a little fucked up in the 90s, at times.

    Goodbye Samoa Joe

There's also a POSSIBLE problem with this picture... Russo is apparently pretty high on Joe and intends to push him to the moon-----very good. But a lot of the shit Russo is booking/writing is just awful, and you gotta think eventually he'll either be removed, or Jarrett will come back and write himself into the whole picture, beat Joe for the belt (christ) and Joe'll get buried, frustrated, and whatever else. So while he hasn't seemed to rule out the odd oneshot for ROH, I think there's always a good possibility he'll end up back on the fulltime roster anyway. Kinda like Punk might be later this year, after Stephanie McMahon and Arn Anderson run the poor fucker out of the company...

100 reasons why Sega is/was stupid.

My Sega CD came with Sewer Shark, one of the worst games ever made. That's a good enough reason for me to hate it. Yet, despite that, I've proven an unexplainable loyalty to Sega's hardware... I bought a Sega CD, a Saturn and a Dreamcast when they came out... I still regret getting rid of my Dreamcast, but in general they were mistakes...

    PS2 Mod Chips.

You can also use a swap disc and lid, which is fairly straightforward and saves the hassle of opening up the box. It also exists for either the old or new PS2. Bout $30 USD.
  17. Definitely Andre the Giant for me. His heel promos where he'd do that slow maniacal badass laugh. It wasn't so much the laugh, but the fact that his mouth, full of yellow teeth, was wider than my entire head and he was grinning like a skull when he did them. Not as scary, but this pic helps:

    Goodbye Samoa Joe

I suppose looking at this in a positive way... they wouldn't be "forcing" him out of ROH to give him the belt, and have him job to fuckin Jarrett or whatever in a couple months--I could see a long ROH-ish title reign for Joe. Which is EXACTLY what TNA needs: a must-see champion ala Bryan Danielson or Ric Flair.

    Goodbye Samoa Joe

Ya, the only part that really bothers me is that his goodbye tour happens right before our show in Detroit, the Wrestlemania Doubleshot. I would've wanted to see him live one more time. To be fair though, there's no proof or answer to WHY he's quitting ROH. He used the word "forced" once, but it could've been a coin of phrase, or that he "forced himself" or that sort of thing. I mean, if they're forcing Joe, why aren't they forcing Homicide, who has the tag titles, or Daniels, who seems to be about to get a main event push in TNA? (Then again, they're both also title holders in ROH, so maybe that's why...) Anyway, allegedly the Observer has the "real reason" why in the next issue, so I guess we'll see. I'd rather see Joe healthy and pushed to the moon in TNA anyway. He did make it clear he's quit the REGULAR roster for ROH. I'm sure he'll be back in the future for the odd one-shot. I've heard a few people foolishly say that "ROH will die without him." Which is retarded. They said the same thing when Punk left, yet 2006 was ROH's best year. If there's one thing ROH knows how to do above all else, it's push fresh meat into the main event scene. Wrestlers will fill the void. Regardless, a part of me will sorely miss him in ROH. While he puts on good matches in TNA, there's very few people outside of the X-Division in TNA that can put on the level of match with him that he did in ROH. And this is all I have to say:
  20. If Russo reads TSM, that is now officially been booked.
  21. I dunno if he has homophobia, but he sure likes to call people "faggots."
  22. How Christian of him. I didn't say he was a good Christian That would make him a good Christian because Christians hate fags, it's in the bible. Please Shut up That's not to say AJ doesn't agree with that statement....
  23. How Christian of him. I didn't say he was a good Christian
  24. lololoolololol.... AJ Styles is a hardcore Christian, so I'm sure he's not all that into the gay community. Watch his ROH matches, he frequently tells heckling fans to "SHUT UP, FAGGOT!"

    OAO Final Resolution 2007 Thread

Backlund was just there one time, he put his finishing hold on the "heel," the crowd popped, and it was over with. It was akin to Schwarzenegger slapping the shit out of HHH that one time. It was done for novelty and for a pop, and it was over with. It didn't make Aries look "weaker" than Backlund. Aries had just gone through a 10 minute match against Shelley, was tired and pissed off, turned his back, and got caught. I thought it was entertaining and now it's over with. And hopefully it's the beginning of a good Aries/Shelley feud. As for the Iron Man match yes, both were "nuts" but it's also an Iron Man match and they go into it with the understanding that they have to survive 30 minutes, not blow a wad right at the beginning. And I felt the finish was fine--I would've preferred a clean tie actually, but this serves the same purpose. I feel it elevated both of them, not neither of them. It was an ROH style feud in that both guys were put over as being essentially equal, and we'll see them fight again down the line, probably for the title.
