Let's hope it happens then. The Cattle Mutilation provides the possibility....

I saw the original as well... the ending couldn't have been any more bleak and aggravating... I hate it when movies end like that.
-
Crap... Is there not ANY way this can end in a double count-out perhaps? Something that means the titles stay the way they are? I love this feud, but I think this is the wrong way to end it. ROH needed that second belt, and Nigel had finally made that belt worth something important. Dammit.

I too thought the PPV was just kinda "meh." Not at all terrible, but very little actually HAPPENED, and some of it was downright boring. I thought LAX was quite impressive. Hotstuff Hernandez is DEFINETELY better than that Machete dude. He's pretty solid, and tossing Sonjay across the ring was pretty awesome. Homicide was awesome as always. Low Ki's match, despite being pretty good, still ended up FEELING like a squash. Glad to see Kazarian back though. Am I the only one that marks like a 10 year old girl for Low Ki's offence? That running kick he does is VICIOUS. Nash actually WORKED, which again proves what I say that he's doing some of his best work since fighting Shawn Michaels. I'm actually entertained by this... I just hope the X-Division is put over HARD at some point here. A tag match is not gonna do it. The rest of the PPV was kind of a blur. The main event had good work by Christian, Joe and even Steiner. I CONTINUE to be impressed and even SHOCKED at how well Steiner is being booked, and how hard he's WORKING so far in TNA. I mean shit, he actually did a flying elbow through a table. WHO WOULDA THOUGHT? Maybe his WWE run just tainted my opinion of him. So far I've found him very entertaining. Jury's still out for me on where Sting vs. Jarrett is going... I still think Jarrett putting over Joe is better than Sting... Sting is a reasonably over face, Joe is a MASSIVELY over face... I'd much rather see him go over Jarrett at BFG. Speaking of BFG, I too will be getting tickets to Detroit. That's badass.

I'm definitely happy to hear that. -

Sooooo many people saying Danielson "turned on ROH and joined CZW" ... wtf? All he did was hit Joe and leave--it furthers their title feud. Sounds like a solid show. -
omfg you're my hero.

Hard Gay is hilarious. I wish someone would do fansubs for his various videos, I'd love to know what's actually going on...
-
As usual, TNA's buildup to their PPV was fantastic. Could those video packages get any better? Team Canada breaking up will prove interesting. I'm guessing Roode w/Traci goes on his own, Petey goes back to the X Division (thank god) and A1 and Eric Young tag team it with D'Amore as manager. The possibilities are good. And it looks like Jay Lethal vs Low Ki at the next Impact! I wish it was on the PPV instead As for Rhyno's promo, it gets TNA fans riled up, so I'm cool with it. And he's saying what we all know and feel about the current ECW. I don't see why that's "pointless," he's voicing the opinion of most true wrestling fans. Now hopefully he doesn't drag it out though...

Worked wonders for me too. Here in Ontario we get The Fight Network. So my entire Monday night is full of wrestling, and none of it is WWE. 7:00 - Pro Wrestling NOAH 8:00 - TNA XPlosion 9:00 - 11:00 - ROH 11:00 - 12:00 - The Daily Show and Colbert Report 12:00 - FMW god I love TFN. I flick to RAW on occasion to see if there's something worth watching. There hasn't been.

It's already happened. CM Punk. He gets a contract with the vile, hated WWE, he makes it his ultimate goal to win the belt, crowd rabidly supports him doing so. Finally wins the belt, gets all emotional, then suddenly swerves and cuts a scathing, FANTASTIC heel promo (The greatest thing the devil ever did was convincing people that he didn't exist... tremendous) and proceeds to shit on all the fans, and threaten to take the ROH World Title to WWE with him. Suddenly you have a perfect heel. As for someone who hasn't wrestled... I think maybe we're missing the target here. ROH has proven you can be a successful heel and still be cheered, or at least partially cheered. I can see you're kinda painting me into a corner by saying "who could get "real" heel heat" and by your definition, heel heat is hatred bordering on violence. I think Orton would definitely get that. But he'd get it because fans genuinely hate everything that he is, kayfabe or otherwise. The same goes for Jeff Hardy, Konnan, anyone else. The kind of heel heat a "good" heel would get in ROH would involve applause for a show well done, and would still get some deuling chants, and whatever. As far as who hasn't worked for them (and that's a short list, really) .... personally, I'd love to see Edge. He could no doubt cut scathing anti-indy promos and talk up WWE, and while I don't consider him that great of a worker, he's solid enough that he might have a few good matches with some of the top guys. But in the end I think he'd still fizzle out ala Matt Hardy, because it's SO hard for a WWE guy to go back to the ROH/strong/indy style again. James Gibson was a rare exception.
-
But dude that's not the GOOD kind of heat. When you're getting heat for non-kayfabe reasons, your heel run can only be short-lived and badly received (see: Konnan, Jeff Hardy, etc) ... I don't see how that would be a "good heel run."
-
I can't believe this argument is even taking place, comparing Randy Orton to any of those heels. Jesus. And the RKO is nothing but a poorly executed excuse for an Ace Crusher or Diamond Cutter.
-
Fair enough.
-
Tons of ROH wrestlers have gotten heel heat. Look at the Embassy or CM Punk during his heel runs. The rest of what you said is also wrong too. I would have to agree. Jimmy Rave and Nana certainly have a few fans, and they get applause for a job well done after a match, but they get massive heel heat. So did John Walters after his heel turn, Shane Douglas when he showed up and cut a promo... Steve Corino was a pretty effective heel too.

Oh I know the muscle buster was out of the question. And I understand that the match needed to have a "quick, surprise" pin to prolong the feud. But that's typically done with a roll-up or schoolboy or something... just felt odd to me, I guess
-
Elaborate on the botched finish remark. I still have yet to understand why the power slam finished the match (and by all means, if you've heard or understand why, tell me...) but Steiner apparently was supposed to crotch himself on the ropes and instead fell early and landed on his feet.

DonWestMark03 certainly has an appropriate nickname. And I reiterate again that Don West needs to die. Immediately. As for Jack Evans, I agree that he's really stepped up his in-ring game, and can work half-decently beyond his spotfest shit. But his home is definitely in tag team wrestling, where he can get beat to shit and folded in half for 10 minutes and have someone else make the save. Gotta admit, he sure can sell though.

I think this might've taken over from the "unpopular opinions" thread as the most pointless thread on TSM. ROH is great wrestling. A WWE show has 8-9 matches or so (let's assume PPV, cuz we all know RAW is lucky to have 1 match) and 1 might, *MIGHT* be good. ROH has 8-9 matches in a show, and 1 might, *MIGHT* be boring or kinda pointless. That's why fans are so into it. There's no way an ROH crowd CAN'T be jacked, with the kind of environment there is in such a small arena. In both ROH shows I've been to so far, I've marked out like a 10 year old at several things. I also don't get out of hand, and don't follow along to EVERY goddamn chant the crowd thinks up. I'm not there to get myself over, I'm there to support a wrestler I happen to like. The dueling chants occur because, quite often, a match has TWO wrestlers that people like. As pointed out previously, I'd rather have boring, repetitive dueling chants than the WWE crowd that's dead for every single match except one involving John Cena, HHH or Shawn Michaels. I like getting lost in the moment. ROH has made me enjoy wrestling like I haven't since the Austin/Bret Hart feud. I think that's true of most ROH fans--having something to consistently enjoy and be a part of is something wrestling fans haven't had in a long time. And I'd gladly be an "annoying" fan to do so.

Jesus, there's no way he won't put Joe over. IMPOSSIBLE. I hope. However, is it maybe possible we'll see a screwjob finish at Hard Justice, and slowly build up to another main event Jarrett vs Joe and Bound for Glory? It's supposed to be TNA'S Wrestlemania, and what better place for Joe to win the strap... BTW, am I the only one who thinks Steiner has been booked incredibly well so far in TNA? Especially against Joe... (Well, other than the botched finish to their PPV match.)

The Pillman and Piper DVDs both look great. I'm kinda surprised WWE bothered to have Pillman's story told, frankly. Hopefully we'll get to see a fair number of Pillman's cruiserweight matches from WCW in all their dvd glory.

I was watching a great match between AJ Styles and Jimmy Rave on The Fight Network. There was a commercial, so I flicked to RAW. I saw Vince McMahon stuffing a fake retard's head into a toilet. I flicked back and watched TFN commercials. Thank god I have something else to watch Monday nights. Pro Wrestling NOAH at 7, TNA XPlosion at 8, ROH from 9 to 11, and FMW at 12.

Who's Estrada? er...
-
Kennedy is horribly overrated. And his entrance music WAS awesome, until they put his "mrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr kennedy... kennedy" shtick IN IT... andf then he gets in the ring, and does it AGAIN. Terrible. Estrada is entertaining, but Umaga is a raging piece of shit. Estrada would be better with any number of other workers, and I agree on Carlito.
