Burnitz didn't go to the Orioles.

Wait...people listen to Pirates' games?

A black lady in my office named her new baby girl Spirit.

Huh? He averaged 6.3 yards a carry and almost 16 per catch. If anything, the fact that he only touched the ball 20 times in the whole game would indicate that USC underutilized Bush, not that Texas shut him down. USC's offense ran all over Texas's defense. The only problem was Vince Young made USC's defense his bitch.

This was sent to me by an Aggie friend of mine...

Umm...don't allow USC to outscore them by more than 5? Actually, by protecting the ball and continuing to shut down USC's WR's while occassionally putting a few points on the board, they should be good. /obvious analyst mode

Why is Dama so convinced Pete Carroll is some kind of unbeatable genius? I'd say much of his success is due to the unbelieveable talent he has. Being an excellent recruiter doesn't make one a genius. See: Brown, Mack.

Texas is a bit better than UCLA. And given how sloppy both teams have been thus far, I'd say the month layoff between games isn't helping anything.

Any bets on how many USCPN folks are going to hang themselves tomorrow in their golden boys don't get their shit together tonight? I'm hoping all of them.

Dumb, dumb, dumb. Stupid decision to go for it and most certainly the wrong play call.

Washington @ Tampa Bay: FUCK THE REDSKINS. Tampa by 7. Jacksonville @ New England: Starting Leftwich is a mistake. Pats by 14. Carolina @ NY Giants: Fuck the Giants up their overrated asses. Panthers by 3. Pittsburgh @ Cincinatti: As the Colts are going to find out next week, there is something to be said for losing your momentum going into the playoffs. Steelers by 4.

Something pointed out today in a discussion with a Texans' fan at the office: The Texans scored as many points as the Chicago Bears this season: 260. The Bears finished 11-5, the Texans 2-14. The difference? The Texans gave up 229 more points than the Bears. Would the Texans be wrong to draft defense first, instead of going all out for Bush or Ferguson? Oh, and I want the Cowboys to draft Rod Wright from Texas, if he's available. Greg Ellis and La'Roi Glover will be out the door this offseason, and he'd be a good fit, imo.

Yeah, I thought that was odd too. But it's not as if the seeding matters--I'm going to win anyway.

Astros are supposedly close to signing Preston Wilson.

No. There are too many teams with "alternate" black jerseys now. Goddamn I wish it was Jan. 4 already. The hype is unavoidable. I go to USCPN.com this morning to get the NBA scores from last night and there is a story on Norm Chow's successors and how great a job they're doing this season. I guess Leinart, Bush, White, Jarrett, etc. have nothing to do with it... I hope Texas wins now just so all the guys on the USC hype machine will commit suicide.

Keep it as is; there needs to be some penalty for using EP's. I vote A.

I guess Reggie Sanders's quest to play for every MLB team continues...

Tice should be more concerned with winning the game than with whose fans are sitting in the stands. If the Vikings had played well, all those Steeler fans would have been sitting on their hands.

How about the Cookie Crook? He'd be a darkhouse contender...

Breaking News Local media is not leaking names, other than to say that Vince Young is not one of the players in question and that if there are any suspensions, "it will hurt" Texas in the Rose Bowl.

I think Fox and CBS get to "protect" a certain number of games each week from being moved to retain some of their own marquee matchups. Personally, I'm against the whole switching idea. If the networks and league are worried about having sorry ass games in prime time, tough shit. They have no one but themselves to blame for creating/encouraging the parity system that causes so many teams to go from good to terrible overnight.

I'm part of another league where we use the weighted system in options C/D. It works great for a league where you just make picks and add up the points every week to determine the winner. For this league, where two teams are matched up head-to-head each week (and I'm assuming it would continue to be setup this way), the confidence points seem unnecessary. I vote for A. I like the way this league is structured, and we definitely need to use the spreads to avoid the "similar picks" problem kkk had in the past.

Does this board still suck, or should I start posting here again?
