    NFL Week XIV

On his weekly radio show last Friday here, Charley Casserly basically said they won't be drafting Bush without actually saying it (since they can't "officially" talk about underclassmen). He feels they are pretty well set at RB, so I wouldn't get excited about Domanick Davis, Pack fans.

I wouldn't joke about Franco like that. He might be more productive than Jeff Bagwell this next season.

Local sports station just did their top of the hour update. Couple of Astros’ notes just coming out of the winter meetings: Astros are NOT expected to offer Clemens arbitration. Astros are in significant trade discussions, but no deals imminent. They will not trade starting pitching but all relievers, including Lidge, are available.

    2005-06 MLB Offseason Thread

Local sports news guy here in town (in Dallas for the winter meetings) just said that the Hendricks brothers, agents for Roger Clemens, met with Astros management today and told them that it will be at least late January and maybe early February before Roger decides whether he will pitch in 2006 or not. They also said the Astros decision to offer or not offer arby to him by Wednesday doesn't affect anything and that there is a possibility that Clemens will pitch in the World Baseball Classic next year but not in the majors next season.

Van Buren was expendable though since they already have Todd Wellemeyer for the "close game specialist" role.

    NFL Week XIII

I think the Cowboys will win the division if they beat the Giants. A win would effectively give them a 2 game lead with only 4 to play and I like them to win at least 2 of their last 4 games.

5 years for a 35-year-old OF? I'm thinking 3 years is more appropriate.

Does anyone like actually going to the games?

Baseball is easily my favorite sport to watch live since there's always something happening on the field. I've been to five different MLB stadiums and the atmosphere and experience was different at each, which helps me enjoy it more. NFL games are great fun as well but can be brutal at times with all the TV timeouts, replay challenges, and other unnecessary stoppages of play since there is nothing to do but stand around for those four minutes. I went to Kyle Field to see A&M vs. Ok St a few years ago and that was...interesting. Those Aggies have quite the little cult going on there. Fun game though, and it went OT. I try to catch one Rockets game a year, but I have a hard time getting into basketball. The Rockets' ticket prices are way too high for me to really enjoy it. And, even though I understand very little about hockey, I've been to see the minor league Aeros here a couple of times. We sat third row behind the glass last time and saw some sucker get slammed into it right in front of us and get his nose broken. It was awesome.

    NFL Week Twelve

Don't be too sure about that. There's talk that they're satisfied with Chester Pitts at LT and will not be looking at Ferguson with the #1 pick as Pitts actually has done a respectable job there. Not saying that they won't draft Ferguson, just that it isn't a dead solid lock.

I don't get Hendry's thinking at all. $30 mil for two middle relievers? They tell Nomar to talk a walk and sign Perez, Eyre, and now Howry? Yes, the Cubs bullpen was a problem, but it's the last piece of a championship puzzle. Their lineup is a more pressing concern and they haven't done anything to address it yet. Except sign Neifi, of course.

Are you out of your fucking mind? Or do you just hate the Cowboys that much? This is a stupid thing to say. Irvin had no impact on the game? Whatever. Must be sour grapes from all the times he helped kick the Packers' ass...

This Week in College Football 11/21 - 11/26

Won't happen. Texas has been held to fewer than 42 points once this season, by Ohio State. A&M is no Ohio State. The Longhorns are totally focused and in full ass-kicking mode. If they suffer an upset (which they won't), it will be next week in the B12 title game. Not against the Aggies.

    Funny photoshoped pictures...

In high school, we had to present a report if we were a travel agent trying to attract tourists to the state you drew out of the hat. I got Utah. I babbled on for the required 6 minutes about skiing in the mountains and watching the Jazz play. That's all I could find to do there.
