I'd think about buying one of those 30+ MPG cars if my truck wasn't paid for.

I'm glad an umpire finally did not award Biggio first base on a HBP. Half of his career HBP numbers should have never been awarded because he either doesn't move or leans into the pitch. I went to the Rangers/Twins game yesterday. Despite it being hot, it was pretty awesome watching Johan Sanatana fool hitter after hitter with all his off-speed stuff. I certainly did not expect to see a 2-1 game with only 11 total hits in that stadium, though.

I just got home from the airport and wanted to say that I'm really, really fucking annoyed with the Cubs. It's just setting in on me that I (and about 20,000 other Cub fans) flew 1,200 miles to see them play and pretty much give up the season by dropping the series to the ROCKIES. Horrible.

I'll take that over the Cubs' routine of "win three, lose eight"...

I'm sorry to say that it's not merely conjecture Czech. The lineup posted on MLB.com Gameday (which is showing 'rain delay'): Macias, RF Perez, 2B Lee, 1B Ramirez, 3B Garciaparra, SS Barrett, C Murton, LF Patterson, CF Maddux, P

Thank God for rain in Chicago right now. Maybe it'll get rained out so that the Cubs won't stumble through another loss and we won't be subjected to Jose Macias LEADING OFF while Matt Murton toils away in the seven hole. Fuckin' Dusty...

So when is the DVD war supposed to happen?
sfaJack replied to brokentusk16's topic in Television & Film
I won't "upgrade" if there's no backwards compatibility. The DVD format is perfectly fine and there is really no need to "improve" it. Besides, I've spent too much money on DVD's and equipment over the last few years. My bank account will enjoy the break. -
I'm wearing my Bulls #91 Dennis Rodman jersey
sfaJack replied to Matt Young's topic in No Holds Barred
I've got: - an old blue Patriots' Bledsoe that I got way back in '95 I think. The "11" on it is pretty worn and hard to see now. Never wear it anymore. - a purple Charlotte Hornets Larry Johnson jersey that I barely wore at all ever. - navy "Wrigley Field" jersey - Cubs alternate blue jersey - Cubs road gray jersey - my Ryne Sandberg pinstripe jersey is on order -
I picked up the game last night, but only had time to play one exhibition game (a 58-17 blowout of the Texans) before I had to get back to my real life and go to bed. My first impressions are: - undecided on the vision cone, but I turned it off at halftime. - the new precision passing is a cool idea, but I was having some trouble actually using it. - graphics and gameplay are pretty smooth. I agree with Porter that it felt like last year's game without the vision cone on, but that's ok as the last Madden I have is '04. - the THX surround sound kicks major ass.

I'm sure ESPN can fit the kid falling into the net somewhere into their 2 1/2 minutes of Yankee highlights tonight.

I'm a bouncer at Chuck E. Cheese.

You mean the Reds that lead the National League in team OPS and is second only to the Cards in runs scored, or another Reds team whose offense sucks?

I didn't like it because I didn't find much of it funny. The guy shooting the cow in front of the kids almost made me bust my gut though.

The thing about the Astros is that they are absolutley playing as well as they possibly can right now. The law of averages (and history) says that they'll even out over the final 60 games and slide back a bit. Not that they still can't win the WC. I just don't think it's going to be the cakewalk everyone here is saying it will be.

Sign hanging in left-center field at Minute Maid Park tonight: "BELTRAITOR" Beltran was pretty heavily booed in his first AB and when he caught the third out in the bottom of the first. I really don't get that. The Astros aren't exactly hurting with Willy Tavares out there, and they saved $119 million.

I blame the NFL for letting ESPN have any broadcast rights to their games in the first place. Surely they can do something about this...

In a "ha ha" way, yes. I wasn't ROTFLMAO all evening or anything. I had a bad experience with a bum not long before that where my ex and I were going to Wendy's and a guy outside was asking for money so he could eat. So we bought him a combo meal (even though he kept insisting that we give him money instead) that he took about three bites out of before tossing it in the garbage, walking out of the place, getting in a car, and driving off. I've been pretty unsympathetic to beggars since that day. One of my rare humanitarian moments...and that fucker pulled that shit.

She stared at me for a moment and then said she could do it if I fed her and drove her to the nearby shelter later so she could sleep there. I said, "Ha ha, no thanks. I was just joking. I don't want your nasty lips on my dick." She flipped me off and then turned to panhandle the car behind me. She actually wasn't half bad looking...but I mean, come on. Who knows where she's been?

I was driving home from work one day a few years ago and was sitting at a red light a couple of blocks from my apartment. There was a homeless lady standing on the corner holding a sign that said "Hungry." I rolled down the window and said I'd take her to my place and cook her a meal if she gave me a blowjob.

Well, Luna was out on that steal attempt, but yeah, fuck Dempster for walking Seabol in the first place.

I haven't read Eric S in a long time either, but I remember specifically checking in on his column the day after the election. All he posted was something along the lines of: "The United States of America: July 4, 1776 - November 2, 2004." I laughed at that, but haven't been back to check on him since.

Joe Morgan probably has a huge boner over the A's streak.

I wish I could be as optimistic as Bruiser.

High school suspends boy for wearing a dress

Not really. I think she was just into guys like that (meaning guys in crappy local bands). Sweet girl...just a bit insane. -
High school suspends boy for wearing a dress
sfaJack replied to The Czech Republic's topic in General Chat
My high school decided to enforce school dress code on EVERYONE who attended prom, whether you were a student or not. This led to one of the psychotic chicks from my class getting into a shouting match in the cafeteria at lunch with our 69-year-old principal over the fact that her boyfriend, who was 20 and had long hair, a goatee, and several piercings (all against dress code), wasn't going to be allowed to go to prom with her. She cussed the principal out and told him she was going to cut the brakes on his truck so he'd "fucking die." Good times. They still banned her boyfriend from prom though.
