  1. Damn. If the Colts D had played like this at any point earlier in the game, they might be winning this thing.
  2. Ay, gotcha. My mistake. I was disgusted to hear that asshole Jim Nance say the Pats were dominating the game at halftime. Does he even watch the games?
  3. Get them straightened out? They've been moving the ball on NE, with the exceptions of the one drive where they were forced to try and punt and the other where Law made that great leaping interception. The first drive ended only because Rodney Harrison made a fabulous play. Pollard was open. The second drive was Law's amazing grab...a ball he drops a lot of other times. Then their last drive after Johnson's fumble, they were moving again until Harrison fumbled, something he never does. The Colts are fine. Cut out those turnovers, and they can easily win this game. The Pats haven't exactly put the clamps on them.
  4. Wow. Marvin Harrison never fumbles.
  5. Yeah, but they're still not as awful as Fox using that "skycam" (or whatever it is) to show LIVE ACTION. You can't see a damn thing with that angle. It'd be fine for replays, but live action...no.
  6. Why not, out of curiosity? The Baltimore/history thing?
  7. This bugs me, too. What makes it worse this year is that we get the Eagles/Panthers game in primetime! What the fuck? The Indy/NE game will be 10x more entertaining. Guess I should go on the record as well: Indy 14 NE 20 Carolina 13 Philly 10

    What were your grades...

You pretty much have to be a dumbass to get lower than a 3.8 in high school. Well, either a dumbass or a slacker.

More fun loving Eagle fan stories.

Yeah, really. I think it was the 1994 World Cup; Cameroon lost a match and were out, so the fans in the country went and burned the goalie's house down and destroyed a lot of his property. Not quite as bad as murder, but it's pretty awful.

    Clemens

Clemens signing with Houston wasn't about money. It was about one final go-round with his best friend, at home, in front of his family. If the Yankees hadn't let Pettitte get away, Roger Clemens would still be retired. I guarantee that.

For those of you that live in Sports towns.......

I ran into Lance Berkman a few weeks ago. I had won courtside seats to the Rockets/76ers game on New Year's Eve and was on my way to pick them up. When I stepped off the elevator, there he was. He was cool; I talked to him for only a couple of moments because I didn't want to bother him. The highlight of the conversation was after I told him I enjoy watching him play, he said thanks and then asked me why I was wearing a Cubs hat.

    Clemens

If any of the New York folks are interested, Clemens did a radio interview this morning. He talks about all the heat he's getting for "betraying" the Yankees. www.sportsradio610.com Click on the audio vault in the upper right-hand corner of the main page. I think it's mp3 format.

    Clemens

You New York folks need to stop taking this Clemens so damn personally. He only came back because Pettitte signed with the Astros and he wanted to play one year at home with his best bud. If Pettitte hadn't signed, I guarantee you Clemens would still be retired. Stop acting like it's the end of the world. The sky is not falling in...you still have a good baseball team. Relax. Please.

    The Official MLB Offseason Topic

If Maddux takes that offer from the Cubs, I don't know if it's a great thing or not. Their rotation would be absolutely loaded, but I'm afraid they will have overspent in that area. It could hamper them if/when they go to make a mid-season deal for, say, a leadoff guy, something they need in a pretty bad way. On the bright side though, they'd definitely have the edge over Houston in the arms race again.
  16. So, losing Rosie Colvin for the year wasn't bad luck, or misfortune? Or the fact that Ty Law, Mike Vrabel, Ted Johnson, Ted Washington, 40% of their O-line, and their top 3 receivers all suffered injuries severe enough to cause them to miss games? Not the mention the injuries that should have forced players to miss games, but instead left them playing at much less than 100%? If anything, I think the Pats had more bad luck than good, with the only real good luck that springs to mind is the fact that Brady wasn't hurt when Milloy hit his leg in the season finale. Every team has injury problems, the Pats included. I think he was referring more to the fact of the fact that they've just barely scraped out wins on more than one occassion (the Houston and Indianapolis games immediately spring to mind). That luck runs out eventually. Besides, it's a damn near impossible to win 15 games in a row in today's NFL...something will have to give at some point. Don't be surprised if the Pats lose.

    Clemens

Dumbass? Funny...the sports radio station here in Houston, in regards to how much Clemens will pitch, just said, according to sources deep within the team, that Clemens is a full-fledged member of the team, and he will make ALL road trips (I guess the only possible exceptions being a three-game trip that he isn't scheduled to pitch on, though that hasn't been said). Don't be so quick to spout off like that. What Tim Kurkjian said a few days ago means nothing.

    Clemens

Where'd you hear that? Your "sources" again? There is no indication that that is actually the case. Regardless, I still don't think this gets the Astros over the top. They've still done nothing to address the holes in their line-up, or their below-average defense. Their offense was pretty inconsistent last year (i.e. score 15 runs one game and then 2 runs in each of the next three), and I don't see that changing, really. Bagwell and Biggio are a year older now, too, and Bagwell's shoulder is only getting worse. Starting pitching was a problem for the 'Stros last year, and it is definitely upgraded now, but I don't know...I just don't see this being a championship club. And the Astros are screwing themselves long-term, financially. Deferring $3.5 mil of Clemens' contract, along with all the deferred money they owe just to Kent, Bagwell, and Pettitte and their hands will be tied in 2005-06 and beyond. Makes me wonder if Drayton McLane isn't planning on selling the team soon. He's made several comments here with the Pettitte/Clemens signings that he hopes to get fans in the seats, yet nothing about actually winning a title. Sounds like a hell of a business plan to me...sign all these guys, get attendance up, and sell the team before you actually have to pay any of that money out.

NCAA Rejects $30 Million for LSU vs. USC

With the exception of football (well, and the now-disgraced men's basketball team), Baylor is pretty competitive in the Big 12. Their athletic program as a whole has won several championships since joining the Big 12...it's just because their football team is so poor that they have a bad reputation. It isn't as if Baylor can't become a good football program again. They've made some pitiful coaching hires since Grant Teaff left, which has destroyed the program. Given the right guy running things, Baylor can and probably will be competitive in Big 12 football. They might never be a year-in-year-out powerhouse, but a Texas Tech-level of success is attainable, and there's nothing wrong with that.
