Omar Minaya to interview with M's

What does it matter if the M's get into the playoffs? They'd just end up being the Yankees' bitches, as always.

Diamondbacks made the playoffs in 2002. St. Louis beat them in the NLDS.

Eh, that game wasn't THAT devastating. Barry Switzer's dumbass game plan against the Niners in the NFC Championship Game, which resulted in the Cowboys' failing to become the first team to win 4 straight Super Bowls stings just a little more. The would've won the Super Bowl that year, and them being the only team to ever win 4 in a row (especially now that no one will EVER do that) would've been especially sweet. The other painful Cowboys' thing was the big egg they laid against the Texans last year. Not only was the game itself a disgrace, but the shit I caught from most of my coworkers the next day about it almost made me leave early due to "illness." Living in Houston sucks sometimes...

You think that because it actually WAS a forward pass. The Bills got fucked oh so very badly in that game...

You're not the one responsible for all those annoying commercials, are you?

    B.S. World Series "prediction"

Since the time machine already existed in the "normal" 1985/2015, its existence wouldn't have been affected by Biff's delivering of the book. If the "alternate" 1985 (where Biff is rich) would have existed all along, then no time machine would have ever been built. But since that 1985 was not the "original" (or "normal") 1985, and was in fact created only by events that happened after the invention of the time machine, then the time machine MUST still exist, even though Doc Brown is locked away in the "alternate" 1985. Otherwise, the space/time continuum would probably collapse and nothing would exist. Or something. Does what I'm trying to say make ANY sense? I'm not sure it does....

    Zimmer says he's done

Someone has to say it: Zim is just avoiding another round with Pedro.

Give me your "I was there" list...

I was there for: - Tropical storm Allison flooding Houston in 2001 - The "Corporate Rumble" where Chyna became the 30th man in the Royal Rumble (1999 - only live WWF event I've been to) - Houston Astros setting a team record for runs in an inning (9) vs. the Reds this last July - Emmitt Smith's return to Dallas earlier this month As you can see, my list is pretty pathetic. That third item is a classic example of that.

The only reason I "hate" the Marlins is because they eliminated my Cubs. That's the only reason I rooted against them in the NLCS. I was ecstatic when they beat the Giants; and in any other year, I'd be cheering like mad for them because they are the "undeserving" and "doesn't belong" underdog. I like the Marlins, but I can't watch them in the World Series. I honestly hope they win (just as a 'fuck you' to Boston/NYY), but I can't watch. But it's ONLY because they beat the Cubs.

Blame Dusty if you want to, but those two are the two biggest reasons why the Cubs got as far as they did. It worked all year long, so why would you change now? I guess the good thing about it is that Dusty's (over)reliance on Prior/Woody is that it exposed the Cubs' main weakness: the bullpen. Maybe Hendry will now go after a couple of good bullpen guys, particularly a long relief man. Oh, and he better find a leadoff hitter, too. Since Patterson will be back next year, Lofton (if he's brought back) will see his playing time go way down. That would leave a large hole at the top.

With Pedro on the mound, yes I do. But that's only if he isn't knocked silly from all the batteries he's sure to be pelted with.

Well, enjoy the World Series guys. I won't be there. It's just gonna be too painful to watch, knowing we were within 5 outs of it. Mik, congratulations...your guys deserve it. Any champion but the Yankees will do, but go Marlins. I hope they win it.

Two words for ya Bruiser: DAVE VERES. Damn I hate that man. Their pen was bound to cause major problems sooner or later and there it is. I really don't see why Clement isn't out there. This is so depressing. because Baker is a shitty manager. Well, he picked Remlinger over Guthrie, so he could have done worse. Give him a couple of points for that.

Damn it, Baker...CLEMENT is right fucking there. Pitcher's spot is due up third in the inning. You don't want to waste Clement for 1/3 of a inning.

I'm glad he wasn't, or we would have had to endure Thommy dubbing Cabrera the fastest rookie in major league history...

We need a tape of HARRY CARAY singing the stretch. That'd inspire the Cubbies to victory.

Why Farnsworth? The Marlins have been ripping him all series. Everybody has gotten good swings off of him.

Choken, YOU are lecturing ME on spelling? That's funny. I figured it was intentional on your part. Oh! No, sadly, it wasn't. I was just typing quickly. Didn't pick up on that. Sorry to try and bust your chops there.

Crowd got quiet again. I'm starting to get VERY uncomfortable with this game. Wood needs to be yanked, probably for Clement.

Wood's still pitching? Hmmmm....I have to question this. But really, what do the Cubs have that is any better?
