Alright, I smell gimmick poster. No one actually talks this way. Do they?
-
I'm wondering if this first post of yours hasn't already blown this for you. Not that I'm anyone important around here, but I wonder...

It's been about 5 years or since I ate cafeteria food, but it wasn't too bad. The main "Grand Central" cafeteria was quite nice, with their enchiladas and flautas topping the list of all the foods they served. The East cafeteria was a very evil place, however. Dear God, that was some awful food.

I think I'm going to print this out and post it in the break room after hours tonight. Hilarity should ensue tomorrow.
-
See what I mean? Just fucking die, Guthrie. You piece of shit.
-
Oh sweet Jesus. Didn't Baker learn ANYTHING from game 4 of the Atlanta series? MARK GUTHRIE SUCKS.
-
You bunch of damn dirty thieves!!
-
Yeah, I know. I was too, just forgot to add a smiley the second time. It's cool. The Braves whooped the Cubs' asses in '98, so we're even.
-
Yeah, ummm...Prior BEAT Maddux, so what's your point?
-
Sounds like someone's a little bitter because his team choked. Again. But it is lame that they're doing the chop, I'll give you that.
-
Uh, yeah....forget what I just said. WOW!
-
It's over. Sosa always strikes out in a clutch situation.
-
Mik, we're just opimistic. After this disaster tonight, it may be all we have left. And Bruiser, I think you did miss something. I could have sworn I heard that Wood is going Game 3 so that he can go in Game 7 if they need him.
-
Well, at least Prior is pitching tomorrow and Wood on Friday. A 2-1 lead is still a very real possibility.
-
Uh oh. No good can come from this.
-
Well he WAS a Rookie of the Year!
-
Read it, Mik. It's going to be an exhausting series. I fear I will get no sleep over the next 10 days or so....
-
Fuck! How can they all just stand there with their bats on their shoulders WITH TWO FUCKING STRIKES??? It's going to cost them a series sooner or later.
-
Well, I could change it if you like. I've been meaning to anyway because it really sucks. Any suggestions? Yeah Alex! Now, can Goodwin do it again?
-
This is a little off-topic, but if I see just one more commercial for that goddamn Nextel walkie-talkie thing, I'm going to kill somebody. As to the topic at hand: come on Cubbies! It's now or never; we do NOT want to go extras with these guys, with the way things have been breaking for them lately.
-
I am deathly excited, but it's because my CUBBIES ARE GONNA WIN IN 6!!! Actually, it should make for a great series. Both teams are pretty even. Marlins hit a little better, but the Cubs' piching (which IS better; their bullpen isn't as disastrous as some would lead you to believe) should keep them mostly in check. The question is: can the Cubs break through and actually score some runs against a Marlins' staff this doesn't exactly suck? That's the key to this thing, and if the Cubs are able to score, then they should take it home, curse or no curse!

Wow...that's a really idiotic thing to say. I don't really have a problem with Manny walking/staring/pointing last night, I don't care that Babe Ruth called his shot, and I don't care that the Harlem kids clowned around like that. It's all showboating, it's all equally obnoxious, but it's part of the game, for better or for worse. Stange thing though. You list all these examples of minorities getting shit on by the media, yet you fail to mention that hardly anyone says a peep about Sosa's hop-step, the Rams' "Bob-N-Weave" from their Super Bowl days (hell, ESPN ran that as much as possible), or Michael Irvin's "first down" gestures. As far as I'm aware, those guys get credit for being showmen, not jerks. Your argument of racial bias is asinine, as it usually is when folks play that card. Oh and just so you know, Ralph Wiley is an idiot (no, I didn't read the article you linked...I've read enough of him before).
-
Not to step on your toes, Bob, but they didn't sweep the Astros in 1999. Houston actually took the first game in Atlanta before promptly dropping three straight (unless you count that as a sweep - I don't). Braves swept them in 1997 and then again in 2001. But NOT 1999. I mean, let's give the Astros some credit here - they did win ONE of those 10 games!

Oh, well, in that case, yes I agree that the A's are the worst postseason team in recent memory.
