That makes sense, I guess, but I've always been one to think that you can't even worry about Game 5 until you win Game 4. Thus, if I were Grady Little, Pedro would be going in Game 4, and we'd figure out what we're going to do in Game 5 if/when we get there. "Saving" Pedro for a game you might not even get to play seems stupid to me.

Even though it goes against my personal philosophy, it never hurts to kiss some ass. In most interviews I've gone to, the interviewer ended up having ME ask THEM questions. They told me "Your application/resume tells us about you" so they asked what I wanted to know about working for them. I've found that in such a situation, the ability to shoot the shit with them should leave a favorable impression. Otherwise, don't say anything offensive. If you aren't sure, don't say it. And absolutely, positively do NOT give just one-word answers (unless it is quite obviously a one-word answer). Oh, and dress nice. That means tuck your shirt in and have your tie straight.

Until I see some sort of bona fide proof that he actually IS a drug addict, then I'm just going to ignore it. I don't listen to Rush or claim to know about/agree with much of anything he's ever said, but anyone who takes a story that was revealed in the NATIONAL ENQUIRER at face value is a blithering moron. That said, even if he is an addict or has been in the past is really irrelevant, and it has no bearing on his inability to discuss football. If I was ESPN/ABC management, I don't think I'd fire him for it, unless it is an ongoing problem and there were potentially serious legal consequences that could result. And, for the record, I don't know if Rush is right about McNabb or not. Maybe he is, maybe he isn't. But the shitstorm this has created is ridiculous. ESPN knew what they were getting when they hired him; it isn't like he hasn't said something controversial before. I would say that it's just the liberals looking to drag Rush down, but that wouldn't be fair because several of the liberal people I associate with think it's completely ridiculous as well. I think the only reason it's getting so much press is because he said it on a national TV show that people of all political leanings watch, as opposed to his radio show where his core audience is most likely those who are more likely to agree with him. Thus, he "offended" more people.

That's the ONLY way I'd want to go back and re-live anything. If I could go back with all the knowledge I have now and knowing how things turned out in the end, then I would go back to 2000 and never let the one girl I've ever truly loved get away from me. I'm really starting to think that she was the one, and it kills me to this day, especially since we've started talking again over the last couple of months. Otherwise, if I wasn't allowed any of that knowledge, then things would probably be guaranteed to turn out the same way, and I really don't think I'd want to go through that a second time.

Pedro will throw game 4. Jumping off the bandwagon? Fuck that. I don't care about the Sox; I've been a Cubs fan since I was 4. And I don't care who wins the A.L, so long as it isn't the Yankees. After blowing Pedro's start, I know I'd be pretty uneasy about having to rely on TIM WAKEFIELD to win a game to have a prayer in this series. I'm not saying it can't happen, but when you're pitching Tim Wakefield and the other team is countering with Barry Zito, well, I think you have reason to be nervous. It's good Pedro's throwing Game 4 and all, but two things: 1. Game 4 means jack squat right now. You better find a way to win Game 2 and/or 3, or else Pedro pitching in Game 4 won't matter. 2. What happens when Pedro saves your ass in Game 4, but then you have to win Game 5 back in Oakland? Wakefield? Lowe, on the road? Hmmm....I'd be worried.

The Sox are done. They blew one of Pedro's starts, and they couldn't afford to do that.
