    WWE Raw - January 19, 2009

    details, please?

    PlayStation 3

Downloaded the Skate 2 demo and I liked it a lot. I'm definitely getting this when it comes out. I never played the first Skate, but I've only read and heard good things, so I figured this demo would be a nice introduction. I like the realistic approach it takes. I used to play Tony Hawk games and loved them, but it's nice to play something that's more difficult and more authentic.

Resistance is fun if you have people you know to play it with. If you're on your own it gets pretty old fast. I have MAU and Res2 so if I see you on I'll send you a message. Cool, sounds like a plan. I'm waiting a few weeks to get Resistance. Classes are starting soon and I'll probably have to drop a couple hundred on text books. Went to Circuit City today in hopes there'd be a clearance sale but nope.

    Xbox 360

She normally doesn't play FPS games to be honest, at least not that I know off. But she likes weird and creepy games and I figure both of those games cover that. Besides online play, what are some of the highlights of L4D (preferably without too many story spoilers)??

    On Going IMPACT! Spoilers

It was my first time watching Impact in about a year or two. I turned it off after that promo where some chick plastered with make up, blond hair, and what was probably a pair of fake tits was dogging on those two chicks for having too much make up, blond hair and fake tits. The fuck? It was an awful segment. That whole Palin stuff was painful to watch, although the accent was slightly amusing. Nobody cares about Sarah Palin anymore so why bother? What I DID like, was Hernandez looking strong and pretty much kicking Sting's ass. Also, Homicide is one of my all time favorites, so seeing him giving the beatdown to Angle and Steiner was surreal. Sure, he took a lot more punishment when everyone got to him, but he was holding his own against a few big dudes for a while. Good stuff.

    Fallout 3

Ah, yes, Evergreen Mills. I ran into that lady in cahoots with the Android Escapee. She gave me a lecture and then ran away but accidentally blew herself up in the minefield. It was pretty awesome. Does that always happen?

    PlayStation 3

Got Marvel Ultimate Alliance using Best Buy gift cards today. It's not an amazing game, but reading comic books is one of my favorite hobbies, so I'm having fun with this game, especially since I get to use guys like Captain America and Deadpool. If anybody has this and wants to play one day, let me know. This game seems it would be really fun online. For my next game, I have my eye on Resistance 2, since I just beat WAW a few days ago. Would this be a good decision? I know IGN gave it a great score, and my circle of friends is pushing for all of us to get it. Anybody else play this/ like it? Should I bother?

    Xbox 360

Just got an Xbox bundle that comes with an extra controller, Lego Indiana Jones and Kung Fu Panda. It's a birthday present for my sister because that's all she ever talks about nowadays. I'm going to get her a more serious game though and it comes down to Bioshock and Left 4 Dead. I know she's played L4D before and really liked it, but Bioshock seems like a more complete game, and for half the price than Left 4 Dead. I'm sure L4D has some other upsides too, but I haven't played it. I know she likes zombies but I figure she might like that little girl from Bioshock too. Opinions?

Lets talk about: ECW on TNN

ECW on TNN was my favorite hour of wrestling when I was 11 or 12. I remember just abandoning my friends and running to my house to catch it every Friday night. Then I would try to get everybody in my class into ECW by bringing in tapes of some episodes. I miss those times. I think 98-2001 ECW was better than mid nineties stuff because they focused less on hardcore stuff, and more on wrestling. Since they lost a lot of their main guys, they had to try new things. Some of their mid nineties stuff is almost unwatchable for me, but I watched a few ppvs from 99 and 2000 and some old TNN episodes last year, and had a blast watching it all.

    Guitar Hero World Tour

It's so hard to ace the vocals in this game. On Rock Band 2, I nailed PDA and Testify with 98% and 100% on medium and on my first try. On GH, I can't get past an 85% on two of my favorite songs ever, One Armed Scissor and Obstacle 1. Holy shit.

    Guitar Hero World Tour

I just ordered this last night since the band kit is on sale for $159.99 on Amazon. Can't wait to play At the Drive-in and Mars Volta tunes.

    Smackdown vs. Raw 2009: News/screens

He has the SSP as his primary finishing move, but it's the same one Paul London does.

    Smackdown vs. Raw 2009: News/screens

Look for New Releases. It should be there. If not, it's probably not out yet for you.

    Smackdown vs. Raw 2009: News/screens

I have yet to make anyone tap to Taker's finisher. I don't play as him often, but it was pretty annoying going through RTW with him without being able to use the move properly.

"Regulate" by Warren G and Nate Dogg

I also think Fishscale is Ghost's best solo album.

Comments which don't warrant a thread.

I got tix to see Morrissey in March. It'll be my second time seeing him, and I'm excited. Let's hope that new album is good!

"Regulate" by Warren G and Nate Dogg

I recently saw GZA perform Liquid Swords in its entirety. It was a great show. I live in Staten Island, so it's natural for me to love Wu Tang, I guess. Anyway, as for Regulate, I like most songs featuring Nate Dogg. That guy was the coolest.

    Smackdown vs. Raw 2009: News/screens

Had to edit Bourne's moveset to give him the Slice as his secondary finisher, but now, he's perfect for using. Also, I HATE this games submission system. Is there ANY WAY I can make someone tap out with something other than those SS moves? It sucks when dudes can't tap out to the Tazmission or the Million Dollar Dream. What gives?

    Smackdown vs. Raw 2009: News/screens

Fuckin awesome! Can't wait to play as Bourne. He's probably the only reason I'm getting it, I just figured if they did in fact add moves, they wouldn't really do anything for him since most of his moves are already in the game (THE SLICE!), which is why I asked about Dibiase instead.
  20. The Flamboyance

    Smackdown vs. Raw 2009: News/screens

Did they add new moves for the new characters? I'll probably get buy the pack later tonight but I'd like to know if Dibiase has his legsweep finisher?

Your top 10 films of 2008

I've only seen 10 movies of 2008, but they certainly weren't all good. Iron Man Incredible Hulk The Dark Knight Speed Racer The Wrestler Wanted Indiana Jones IV 10,000 BC Hancock Role Models I really liked the first 6 that I listed. 10,000 BC was awful. The other 3 were decent. I'm planning to watch Wall-E tomorrow. I also want to see Gran Torino, Benjamin Button, Pineapple Express, Tropic Thunder, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Punisher, Star Wars, The Spirit and Hellboy 2 soon. A lot of catching up to do. To be honest though, I don't really like watching movies. I'm really impatient when it comes to watching television.

Comments that don't warrant a thread

Yeah, I liked the similarities to Event Horizon. This was like a Silent Hill in Space with some RE4 gameplay elements. Still, I don't think this game is anywhere near as good as RE4.

Comments that don't warrant a thread

I just finished Dead Space. It was pretty damn scary at times, and fun, but I was a bit underwhelmed by it. After all the hype surrounding this game, I feel it's a tad overrated. I seem to be in the minority though.

    Aronofsky's "The Wrestler"

Fantastic movie. Everything about it was great, and I loved seeing Necro Butcher, Poppadon, Claudio Castagnoli, the ROH ticket guy, and even that dick, the Green Lantern Fan in a major motion picture. I regret not going to that ROH show last year when they filmed the match between Randy the Ram and the Ayatollah. I look forward to watching this again.
