Bad Blood Main Event announced on radio ad
ISportsFan replied to Kurt Angle Mark's topic in The WWE Folder
I just went through my memory bank to see Kane's credentials for this PPV main event. Since beating Shane McMahon (an awesome feat indeed) at Survivor Series 2003... He lost in a triple threat match with HHH and Goldberg at Armageddon. He lost in a Royal Rumble. He lost at WrestleMania to Undertaker. He lost at Backlash to Edge in under 7 minutes. Definitely a PPV caliber main eventer at this point. I hope this commercial is wrong. Jason -
Meltzer today I believe said 6/1 in the States. Jason

Bad Blood Main Event announced on radio ad

WHAT? That makes absolutely no sense. Kane can't even beat Edge, or Undertaker, and hasn't won on PPV since last year's, what, Unforgiven or Survivor Series? That's ridiculous if Kane is in the co-main event with Benoit. Jason -
Edit: Since my picture of God isn't showing up, I guess I will just quote it like everyone else. You are a GRAMMAR GOD! If your mission in life is not already to preserve the English tongue, it should be. Congratulations and thank you! Jason

Blackhawks: Alpo Suhonen. I don't even know if his last name is spelled right, but his style of hockey he wanted us to play sucked and guaranteed we would lose, and he liked bad European players over good North American ones because they fit the "style." But, the fault really lies with Bill Wirtz's lack of money spending and the GMs like Pulford and Smith who can't get the job done. White Sox: During my lifetime, Terry "Boom Boom" Bevington was not very good. Jerry Manuel was an underachiever, Jeff Torborg wasn't anything special, but Bevington was just bad. Bears: Dave Wannestedt, at least during my lifetime. No question. Dick Jauron at least had one good year, but Wannestedt was worthless. Jason

Very, very good flick. It's a lot like the recent Playmakers series, but The Program was a whole lot better. Jason

I can give you one fact to the contrary: WWE can't even keep their facts straight. On Goldberg's biography on the official RAW website, he is listed as both a WCW champion and a World Heavyweight Champion, which shows they are counted as two different championships. Also, the company considered Chris Benoit a former WCW champion in the past, and now they don't and consider this current reign as his first title reign. This shows they can't even keep their title reigns straight, and we can't trust them to consider lineage like that. Therefore, it is our job, if we are to keep a title lineage, to keep it correctly since they can't do it. They'll change history to whatever they want it to be at the moment, and in some cases (Confidential they list WCW title = RAW title, website lists them separately) they can't keep history straight AT THE SAME TIME. It's our job to keep history correct if we want it to be preserved. My take on the lineage I listed already. It's all in the Smackdown title. Eric Bischoff can dispute a title all he wants and create his own for his own brand, but there's no way he had a claim to the lineage of the WCW title. He just can't, he had no power. It wasn't RAW's title to begin with -- it's WWE's. So, he did create a new title, and thus the Smackdown title is "disputed" because there are two world champions. But, just because it's disputed doesn't mean it's taking one of the lineages away from the Smackdown title. Jason

There are only six that I can think of off the top of my head. This includes anything that is technically a submission according to the rules. Obviously, Benoit over HHH and HBK at WrestleMania XX. Bret Hart over Ric Flair at Saskatoon in 1992. Shawn Michaels over Bret Hart at Survivor Series 1997. The Rock over Mankind at Royal Rumble 1999. Iron Shiek over Bob Backlund in 1984. Bob Backlund over Bret Hart at Survivor Series 1994. Also, there was a submission fall (a sleeper victory) in the iron man match where HHH beat the Rock at Judgment Day 2000, but I think that just counts as a victory by more falls. Jason

www.cafepress.com is out there. I don't know whether anything's better than that, but if there is someone else chime in. Jason

This is really simple, to me at least. The validity of a championship in a sport where winners are predetermined has less to do with lineage and more to do with its portrayal at any one time. Thus, when I think of the history of the championships, such as the WCW title and the WWF/WWE title, it's all on Smackdown. Everything the companies stood for, in champions and the like, is all in the title Eddie Guerrero holds right now. But, right now, the history means nothing. In Vince McMahon's vision, history has always meant nothing. So, the lineage and the history of the title belongs to Guerrero's belt, but the belt that means more right now is the RAW belt that Benoit holds. Why is that? HHH, Shawn Michaels, Chris Benoit, and others are just flat out producing great matches and generating an interest in the belt. Eddie Guerrero has challengers like Bradshaw who can't get over. That belt also had Bob Holly get a major PPV title shot. Right now, the major players and the major storylines, along with the interest, all lies in the belt on Benoit's shoulder. Jason

Why ask this question when Russo is involved? Last week, we had a restart in a match that could have had a very clean finish and not hurt anyone. Now in this match, of course there's a screwjob. Jason

I think they said it's about half a mile from the lockers to the ring. Which means that it's either the awesome carts they used at WM III and VI, or it's no Tropicana Field. I guess they weren't a big fan of the carts. Jason

Benoit and the Rock also had a very good cage match in March. I think it was 3/18/00, but I didn't look it up, so I'm not positive. Jason Edit: It was 3/6/00.

Chris Kreski? Spelling's probably/possibly not correct, but I'm pretty sure that's the guy. I'll go with Judgment Day -- the last 3 matches were just 90 minutes of solid, awesome, amazing work. The Rumble was decent with the 3-way IC title match, a good Rumble, and an awesome WWE title match. Probably # No Way Out was probably #5 of the year, which is unreal considering it's a dang good card. A solid IC title match with Angle/Jericho, a very good 6 man tag, a good Hardyz/E&C match, and the awesome cell match. WrestleMania had the overrated, but fun, spotfest ladder match, the decent but boring 4 way for the title, and a very good 3-way Euro/IC match. A decent card. Backlash was awesome, probably #2 on the year. The IC title match, Euro title match, light heavy title match, and WWE title match were all very good or better. Judgment Day was listed above. King of the Ring had the most potential, actually, and was horrible. Fully Loaded had a decent cage IC match, and two out of three main events ruled the world. #4 on the year. SummerSlam had the nice WWE title 3 way, an awesome (but rushed) Benoit/Jericho match, and the TLC that blew WM's ladder match out of the water. Probably #3 on the year, slightly ahead of Fully Loaded. Unforgiven had Benoit carrying a main event with 2 slugs and the Rock, and a disappointing HHH/Angle match, so this is nowhere near the top. No Mercy had Benoit/HHH and Rock/Angle tearing the house down. #6 on the year, which is even more unreal the No Way Out being #5. Survivor Series was no good. Armageddon was a one match show, but the cell match was a good one. Jason

He always gets so much crap for that quote, but really it was totally in character. Heenan always mistrusted Hogan's morals and ethics (much like Ventura always did), and would definitely question whether or not Hogan would be selling out to the nWo. Of course, maybe not the best timing for the character to come out, but it was in character I think. Jason

I think they did it then, too, didn't they? I remember a HHH plaque back then. Jason

Only after they get rid of their manager and change their nickname. Jason

Thanks. These two I should have gotten. This one I probably would have never gotten. Jason

Absolutely not. I don't wear jewelry, so it'd be pointless, and it's way too expensive. Jason

I clicked on the link, but the review isn't there. Jason

I busted out laughing to that LemmyCake sig too. On topic, as long as they don't clip matches and give us 1 full PPV per month, I'll love this a ton. Jason

It's amazing how positive everyone is toward Storm when quite a few people characterized him as a decent worker at best, and some even called him a waste of space. I always thought he was good, but not great. Maybe the naysayers just haven't shown up en masse yet. Personally, I thought he was a solid worker who could have great matches, but most of the time his matches would be thoroughly average to good. Probably his best match in WWE was with Edge at SummerSlam 2001, and I can't even remember another great match he had in the company. He was better than many of the guys the company pushed, though, so that makes me angry since I always thought he had the charisma and ring ability to be a solid upper midcard player. In that case, I definitely agree with YNA. But, it just wasn't meant to be for him, and for that I do feel bad. But, he was never going to be a main eventer in WWE. Jason

I read Brandon's shoot reviews, any show reviews (but I don't actually read them, I just skim them for match quality and results), and the DVD Tuesday column so I know what's ahead for DVDs. Jason
