    Family Guy

My Tivo was being a bitch yesterday and didn't record even though it is set to record all the episodes. Therefore I missed the first 6-7 minutes and apparently the A-Ha music video. Is it on the web like the breakfast machine was last week? And can someone who is good with this type of thing help me out?
  2. I'm all for getting Jack and his grandfather club out of the dugout. He is something like 76 and his bench coach is 75. That's just insane. Girardi is 40 something and would be a great fit for manager, I think. I really think the team is way better than they have been performing and if they don't make major changes soon, this season is lost. 2006 and beyond keeps looking better and better but they can also contend now. And I kinda like the Baltimore deal, although it will kind of be weird to see Mike Lowell on another team - even though I know deep down it has to happen.
  3. Double post - sorry.
  4. Well, now the Baltimore Sun is reporting that the reported trade between the Marlins and Orioles will be completed today. Man, trade rumors are ok, but everybody needs to stop reporting them as fact. Oh, and expect Jack Mckeon to be fired. The south Florida papers are already mentioning possible candidates: according to the Sentinel the leading candidate is Joe Girardi. I'd be thrilled if that happened, honestly.

    It's that time again

Looks like suspicions were correct. Stephen A. Smith has gotten his own show. It's called Quite Frankly and it will be on 6:30 ET. Just saw a commercial during Sportscenter.
  6. Holy fuck is all I have to say. As for teke's list... 1 isn't happening. 5 will be done by Neville, in my opinion and I think Harry can knock out the rest of them in a tidy 850 page book. As for spoilers posted above...

    British Open

Tiger already shot a 66 on the first day of the British Open to move to -6. Who wins: 1) Tiger in a tight competition 2) The Field 3) Tiger via complete and total domination I'm going with 3.

    Who's on a diet

In terms of exercise... if you are doing cardio or running, there is no set time that would be better than the other. Basically, you are burning the same amount calories doing the run/bike/etc. whenever you do it. That's all that really matters when it comes to weight loss. Lots of books will break things down into formulas and propose all these crazy theories, but really the ONLY way to lose weight is to burn more than you eat. It's so simple, but there are so many people out there making money by spreading lies that a lot of people forget that. So, yeah...cardio whenever is equal. Now, as for lifting, I'm no expert on that field and I think Brian knows more, but I always thought it was better to work out in the evening or past. Again, this is just my little idea and not a fact. The reason I think this is because when you work out, your muscle doesn't really start repairing itself until you go to sleep. So, I always just kinda figured that if you work out in the evening it won't go that much of the day essentially damaged. And I can almost swear I read the evening was best in a muscle and fitness a few years ago, but I'm not sure. Ok, I just went back and read your diet. There's nothing wrong with that diet. You should keep up with it. I think if you still have HT problems, it's caused by stress or family history.

    Who's on a diet

Still post here, but I've been out of the country and traveling for most of the past month. Just skimmed through the thread and couldn't exactly see the question that I might be able to answer. As for your pre-hypertension, X, that could be a ton of things, but I really don't think caffeine would be at the root of it. If you are salt sensitive and eat a lot of salt, that would be it. The problem with hypertension is that it is a comorbid condition with many other problems (one goes with the other). It's pretty hard to pinpoint the exact cause of HT alot of the times, but stress is often the main factor. Brian, metabolism may be lower in the AM but BMR doesn't change over the course of a day. It's relatively constant and is the amount of energy burned if you are not moving, not digesting any food (TEF -digestion of food burns calories) and in a thermo-neutral environment (cold weather - more calories burned to keep warm). Your BMR can change over time if you gain/lose weight, etc.

    Favourite Wes Anderson film.

Great topic. I love all four of them with the only clear decision I could make would be to place Rushmore in 4th. I voted for Zissou just because I found myself silently chuckling at worst, laughing out loud at best throughout the entire movie. It just all "clicked" for me. Bottle Rocket would be a really, close 2nd. My friends and I watched this movie too many times through college and memorized probably too much of it. "Say it again. Say it one more time. You're out! You're out. And I'm out too. There's no gang. How does an asshole like Bob end up with such a nice kitchen anyway?" Great scene, great movie, but I still like Zissou a little bit better. I'm waiting for Anderson's next.

    This Week(end) in Baseball

I can not believe the Yankees are so desperate that they traded for Al Leiter. He has been nothing short of God awful this year - quite possibly the worst starting pitcher in all of the Major Leagues. Yeah, good luck with that guys.

    GTA: San Andreas

I thought that mission was simple. I just finished it yesterday on the first try. I just did OG Loc's dance party where all the Ballers came and tried to take over our hood.

    Man dies from sex....

But what were the injuries? Did the horse just kick him... or it was what Cartman trained the pony to do in Scott Tenorman must die.

Even though he has sucked very badly this season, Mike Lowell actually has 25 doubles on the season, putting him near the top 5 in the entire NL. How odd.

I'd imagine that you don't really need a reason to hate Jay Mariotti. Does anyone else crack up everytime Reali says "Aaaandruw Jones" in the voice of the TBS announcer? Gets me everytime.

Marlins to potentially release Al Leiter and call up Jason Vargas I don't think paper requires registration. Holy crap. Wasn't expecting that.

    It's Emmy Time.

No other Entourage fans? Jeremy Piven is solid gold on that show.

    GTA: San Andreas

I just got this for Xbox. I finished all of sweet's missons, all of ryders, and I just finished the train mission from Big Smoke. Approximately how far away am I from flight school? I tried to hijack a plane from the airport after jumping over the brick wall, non barbed-wire portion but I didn't know how to fly it.

Burnett, Lowell, and Encarnacion for Chacin and Catalonotto. Don't like that one bit. If we're throwing in Lowell, I'd like to see Aaron Hill come back.

Ha. That post makes it sounds like you just walked out of the GM's office three minutes ago.
