Nathan Fillion and Amy Acker were probably the best actors out of the bunch and the ones with the most potential. Shame they're both stuck in cancelled tv show hell. With the right movie, Fillion could be huge. He reminds me of Harrison Ford a lot.

I liked Gellar in Cruel intentions. I think her problem is she just made some very bad movie choices, and nothing that really showcased her talent. She's still miles ahead of the likes of Jessica Biel and Megan Fox. I hear she's actually going back to television now because she doesn't like the scripts she gets offered.

RE: the coffin size. I don't think even the writers knew who was in the coffin last year, and I'm sure they've said they changed their minds more than once on it, so you probably can't look too much into it. .

Death race got moved up to August from September as well because the test audiences went crazy for it, which is a good sign, but Statham's box office record is very hit or miss and there seems to be a backlash against remakes nowadays. I've heard The Happening is really crap. And the trailer doesn't make me that desperate to see it either. I'd be surprised if it managed to make $100 million. I can't see the love guru doing that well, since, despite what many seem to think, Jessica Alba isn't a box office draw. Neither is Mike Myers, apart from when he's doing Austin powers or voice overs for Shrek (and shrek would have been successful without him). I have to agree with the people saying sex and the city won't be a huge hit either. I don't remember that television show being as huge as people act like it was. And I know the x files actually was quite big for a while, but a lot of people went off it in the last few years it was on. I can see tropic thunder doing very well although it looks like it cost a lot, so it might have to do amazing business to just break even.

Yeah, but was that a genuine 'I'm not interested,' or a *wink*wink* 'I'm not interested?' If he was offered it, and thought he could help increase Obama's chances of winning over blue collar voters, I can't see him saying no. Also, I think he still has ambitions of being president himself, and the VP spot is another path to the presidency. He'll still be fairly young in 8 years time, anyway.

I'm not even sure what voters she would carry over as his running mate: if her arguement is 'I've got the racist vote', then those people aren't going to vote for Obama regardless of whether she's on the ticket or not, surely? And he'll probably get most of her female supporters since McCain seems very likely to try and overturn roe vs Wade. I think Ted Strickland (popular governor of Ohio), Joe Biden or Edwards would be smarter choices. He can't pick any other woman than Hillary since it would probably piss her off, and he'll need her if she's going to campaign for him and try to get her voters over to him.

His movie career you mean? Considering Cruise has been involved with Scientology since 1990, I don't understand what you're saying here...Cruise has been involved in a ton of good movies in the past 18 years. While he may be a kook out here in the real world, his ability to make good movies hasn't decreased. Sure he cranks out a stinker here and there, but almost every actor does. While Cruise has been involved with them for a while, prior to his divorce from Nicole Kidman he had a great team of publicists who managed to downplay the scientology aspect of his life, and portray him as this regular guy. However, after he left Kidman (which was rumoured to be because the scientology people didn't like her) he also got rid of his publicist after she basically told him he couldn't be open about his role in scietology and remain a big star. That's when all the crazy behaviour started: couch jumping, arguing with Brooke Sheilds, annoying the president of France, ranting against pschiatry and seeming to turn Katie Holmes into some sort of stepford wife. Then THAT scientology interview came out. It's not being a scientologist that has wrecked Cruise's career so much, it's being so open and overbearing about it. You can't tell me that Tom Cruise is in the same position he was five or six years ago.

Whedon wrote most of the dialogue in speed, as well.

I remember a book on Benoit came out about 3 or 4 months after he died, and I thought they were vultures. I still think that: It was too soon, and most of the information wasn't even availiable then. It felt like a Benoit book for the sake of a Benoit book. I'll give this guy the benefit of the doubt since enough time has passed, and it does seem like a proper attempt to investigate Benoit's mentality and provide some answers as to why he did what he did rather than just being the typical cash in rushjob book.

I rewatched In the name of the King and you had a point, Jingus. The plot and dialogue were as bad as ever but Boll has learned to shoot a film properly now at least. The action scenes are shockingly quite good. However, the whole thing still came off as Uwe Boll trying to do poor LOTR imitation and I still can't grasp how that film cost $60 million to make ( I suspect Boll may have pocketed most of the cash). If you gave Boll a decent scriptwriter and an enthusiastic cast, (most of the actors in his movies are there solely for the paychecks and it shows) and more studio involvment to keep him in check, he might just come up with something that's actually okay to watch. Rather than so bad its good.

Alone in the dark was hilarious -about 6 or 7 paragraphs of incomprehensible narration and scrawl at the beginning,and the security guy ends up repeating it later anyway. -tara reid as a genius archeologist...and how do we know she's smart? She has glasses! Nevermind that she looks more like a stripper at the beginning of her act...Oh, and she can't even pronounce newfoundland right. -and we're expected to believe this archeologist is also an expert at using firearms -Rob, security guy and master of exposition. He knows everything about the Akanki indian tribe AND the curators lovelife. - 'Being afraid of the dark is what protects us, kid.' or 'don't open that door!' -a laughable sex scene done to terrible europop music and slater doesn't even take his shorts off (nor does Tara lose her bra, which is funny, considering that's the only reason she had to be in the movie). -the bit where these marines just show up out of nowhere and basically every action scene involving them -christian slater and stephen dorff going from bitter enemies to best freinds is about 30 seconds -Oh, yeah and the Passage to a secret underground laboratories and giant Xenom caves appearing from nowhere in front of orphanages. It's so funny, I remember thinking it had to be intentional. In the name of the king, there's also Burt Reynolds saying 'call in the ninjas!' which is the best bad line ever.

Mccain rejected Hagee's endorsement today after some old comments Hagee made about Hitler doing God's work came out. I knew the republicans would regret going after Obama's pastor. They've declared open season on themselves now. The thought of every politician in Washington now having to do an extensive background check on the pastor/preist before they join a church just to make sure they havn't said anything offensive is quite amusing to me.

I remember when Cena did the Iraq show, and despite his injury, he was the exact same size before. Contrast this with the other guys who lost a drastic amount of muscle mass after an injury and coming off roids. That leads me to believe he might be the genetic freak he claims to be and clean after all.

I don't mind the Penny/Desmond soap opera...since at least that is a proper love story. But Kate just keeps going from Jack to Sawyer and back again and you just wish she'd make up her mind. It doesn't help that Kate and Jack are probably the dullest characters on the show.

The movie world needs Uwe Boll. If only to make every other director in the world feel a little better. Besides...Tara Reid as an archeologist? Laughably bad dialogue ('you did all this to become immortal...why?' 'To live forever!') and nonsensical plots...his movies are works of comedy genius and very entertaining in their own dumb way.
