Bound for Glory taking place in Atlanta
cd213 replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in TNA Wrestling
There was an incident in which one of Pacman's posse mates shot a bouncer outside a strip club, and he was supposedly a former wrestler who once worked with TNA. The bullet paralyzed the guy. (Diamonddust got it) Actually he was a jobber for WWF back in the day. He had been working as a bouncer for a few years before the shooting. -

That was a bad ass Women's Match. Good action and good wrestling. The tit slip was pretty funny seeing as Kong was laughing her ass off after it happened. Gail Kim as Knockout's Champion is good. She's talented and the crowd is behind her. (Plus she's really sweet, I met her and Christy last weekend). -

Sick match with a sick ending. You can tell that the roster is going full speed tonight, at least so far. -

So far this has been a GREAT PPV. The only part that was slow was the Reverse Battle Royal, but then the rest of the match was good. EY winning was awesome. I loved AJ making it rain and Hebner going after the money. TOMKO as Tag Champ is just awesome. I am a HUGE TOMKO mark. That opener was great. Depending on the rest of the show, this might be the first PPV I buy on DVD. -
That ending was sweet. I love how Sting was still in the ring. Everyone knew it was him, but it was still a good way to build up the match. Well, no we know Kurt is retaining.

To have shows where talent goes back and forth would make for some interesting TV. I would love to see some NJPW guys coming over and winning some titles. It would make for some unpredictable TV to say the least.
-
They should tape it and either show it on PPV or release it on DVD (maybe both). I would get this show for sure.

Amazing Kong is a fucking beast. I love that TNA signed her to a contract. She's going to have some great matches with Jackie.
-
No he's not. And from what I read because of that he will be gone after Sunday (the contract he signed lasted until BFG). I guess that means we will see new Tag Team Champions, YAY!
-
IIRC when Nova first signed with WWE he was sent to OVW and teamed with Jeter and became Tag Champs. They were both face and from what I remember they were super over and the fans loved them. He has so much potential, I thought the most out of any of the SS memebers and was hoping that he'd be the one they pushed. Kenny has good talent too, though.

It's from the really badass horror film Hatchet starring Kane Hodder as Victor Crowly, the killer and featuring Robert Englund and Tony Todd.

IIRC, when Angle lost the X-Divison title to Lethal he was told Lethal would win cheaply, but Angle threw a fit and wanted to put him over cleanly. He was also upset when Lethal was sent out there later on to be beat up by Joe. Angle has said in interviews when he first came over that he wanted to help build up the company to something respectable, maybe he realizes that the way to do that is to put the young guys over. It would seem that he has Sting in his corner as Sting is for putting young guys over as well. I would say thois can be really interesting, and I am curious to see where this all goes. If this is true, maybe the reports were right and Russo had little to do with the shit that happens and it's all Mantel.

That is exactly it. He was a nice guy when I was talking to him. He really did have love for wrestling. I got a lot of videos from him as well. It would have been cool is he kept the fed alive since it was really the only fed running in Queens. Now I have to go to Deer Park in LI, or out to NJ, and I don't feel like commuting.
-
What fed and what store? The store was in Queens and called The Ultimate. The owner ran a fed originally called UCW, then he found out it was copy-written so he changed it to ICW. It was fun to go to and talk to the wrestlers. He girlfriend then made him choose the fed or her, so he shut down the fed. Plus he was known for not paying the wrestlers from what I know. He closed the store, but then reopened it in College Point about 2 years later.

A decent Main Event does make up for the fact that the rest of the PPV was pretty bad. This show just goes to show how big of ego HHH really has, and I'm a fan of his. He wins the title to start the show, goes through Umaga and then puts Orton over the same way Hogan put Warrior over when he lost the title to him. HHH couldn't have just stayed down for the entire 10 count, but he had to "try" to get up at the end.

I have this pre-ordered and will be picking it up later today. It got a 9.5 in Game Informer. I played a little bit of it at the store a few weeks ago and it's a lot of fun. Can't wait to get it home.

Red wrestled for an indy fed in NY that I used to go to all the time. I used to hang out in a wrestling store by my college and the owner of the store ran the fed. I would hang out there with friends for hours on end and every so ofter some of the wrestlers would come in. Red, SAT and others. My friend and I had a good conversation with SAT and Red was basically to himself. He was very nice and spoke to us, but he didn't say a lot. I thought both Red and SAT were good for what they were, and indy versions of RVD. If you like spot-fests then they are right up your alley. I'm more into wrestlers that tell a story in the ring. I enjoyed their matches for what they were.

I have to check that out, but if you look at Angle's singlet on the front since he won the winner take all match from Joe it's said 11X.
-
Because no one is expecting it. Once in a blue moon Vince pulls out a surprise, mind you they are few and FAR between.

I'm wondering if it can be Bret Hart. There has been talk of he and Anvil possibly coming in to debut the Hart Foundation 2.0. I know not much adds up to Hart, but hey, why not?

Death Proof was so underrated. I feel that if it was shown before Planet Terror people would have enjoyed it more. I love when people say, "it was too chatty," or " there wasn't enough action" or whatever else they came up with. Obviously those people know very little to nothing about what a real grindhouse movie is. I would say Death Proof is more of a grindhouse film then Planet Terror was. Grindhouse films were sometimes very talky.

It doesn't say they team up on Kim, just that they attack her. It is just setting up a storyline for BFG. All the Women are gunning for Gail Kim, as she looks to be the top babyface female.

No. Vin Diesel goes on the list of talentless actors that have no place in entertainment. Interesting side bar: My acting teacher from college had Michael Vincent in his class and has stated that he was a better actor then than he is now. He also hit on my teachers daughter and she rejected him (this was before he was "famous." I guess she wishes that she would have said yes.

At the end of July I went to Vegas with a group of friends and a couple of us were walking through the MGM. We were able to be part of a focus group that saw a preview of the pilot and give our opinions. It was very very funny and well done. From what I understand some of the things have changed, but it was a great show.

It's already done. Saw the trailer a few times already. Looks ok.
