I hate my current job....I mean really hate it, I consider quitting everytime I go to work. The job is just mind numbing and boring as all hell. Right now I'll take any sort of suggestion because I think I'd take a paycut to stop doing this......I'd like to do something atleast remotely interesting if something doesn't interest me I get really A.D.D about it and lose all interest in doing it. So if you all would make some suggestions I'd be thrilled, I'll take any suggestions at this point.....and no I don't have a college degree and don't make posts like "you should go back to school" as I can't afford that. I have roommates and such so my money situation isn't extremely important so I can take a lower paying entry level job or something of that nature.......I'm just trying to find something I like doing maybe even a career at this time.

What's the pay scale........it would be worth it to me if the pay is good.

That is exactly how I take it but the people I work with take it to seriously. If you do it like that which I have been they start flipping out about how we have to get things done. I honestly could careless if they fire me but these guys act like things are life and death and I'm just like shut the fuck up I don't care. But, you do care. You're obviously very unhappy. I doubt he'd be a lazy worker at a real job. And I feel for managers at shitty retail jobs like this, because you're damned with any approach you take. I'd feel for management alot more if they showed some semblence of trying.....let me give you a couple of examples of what goes on here it's far worse than any other job I've ever worked. I already mentioned the one who speaks broken english and made a major foul up in not locking the door, that a huge offense....Another manager last week no called and no showed twice, a manager did this! They had no clue where she was for 2 days. Also fun stuff that goes on at this job, they want something changed and no one tells us they just decide to yell at us a week later "we don't do that anymore" like we should just know. There is 0 communication between people in this store. Just the other night the schedule was screwed up the reason for it? The 2 female managers don't like each other so 1 purposely screwed with it because she dislikes the one who made it...... Like I said I ask a manager who's doing the ordering so I can get an honest answer about why we order stuff we don't need and no one knows who orders, I mean cmon. We order things we don't carry or new stuff we don't have a spot for that we aren't informed is coming. It's like Vince Russo runs the store.....

Because this store is cheap.......the only people that do it are me and 2 other guys. And they are obsessed with getting everything done every night. Not to mention the day people don't touch the trucks so you can't get away with not doing anything. Like last night it was me and 1 other guy and the entire back room was full of freight from 2 trucks and they expect us to get that done....Oh and in the people that stack the pallets during the day just stack anything you can imagine together so you have to walk around the entire store to unload a pallet. Then if you complain to a boss about how ridiculously bad the pallets are stacked, they actually get worse like the day people go "fuck those night guys" and make them worse on purpose. Let's not mention the hours I get are fucking stupid. I work 4-5 days a week but only magine 25-32 hours because of the ridiculously stupid scheduling to avoid giving people full time. There are just numerous things about the job I hate that piss me off to no end. What makes it humerous is a good friend of mine works there and is always like "you need to go faster". Like I'm going to kill myself for the shitty pay and shitty hours. Also no one who is in charge knows anything, if you have a question they seriously have no answer for it. I'd like to know how the store even runs properly. Whoever orders is a dope and doesn't know how to order shit, we have a ton of or things we don't need. Like we got 2 pallets of lawn & garden the other day...how's that make any sense? Then if you ask who's ordering no one knows....or they won't say that they do. Then they have other people running around trying to start shit thinking they are in charge and they just purposely say shit when they come in to you like they are your boss when they aren't. See why I dislike it now? You dislike it because it's like any other work environment you'll ever see? You have a fairly easy job where you can afford to be lazy and spend the time not working to discredit the management. Stocking is one of the easiest jobs you can have and yet, you fret about having to move certain things in a certain way. Is the company supposed to alter everything to suit your needs? No. The store isn’t cheap when it only has 3 people doing stocking detail and why shouldn’t they be “obsessed” about you doing your job? You wonder why the day people make it harder? Its because word gets down that the night guys are bitching, so of course, they aren’t going to care about it. It’s called politics, you play it in every job. You have people telling you are lazy at your job, generally people, especially co-workers aren’t going to address that directly to you but when they do, it’s not a good thing. You spent a lot of time ragging the management and you should know (Lushus and Agent, probably will attest) that this doesn’t solve anything. I used to assume that management was nothing but a bunch of idiots but once I got into the management role, I quickly learned that it was more often the fault of the guys on the floor for whatever went wrong. I don’t know what type of job you can maintain when you admit to being a lazy worker and have no idea how to work with management. You claim to have a wish to work in radio but it’s not any different there then it is. I think you are taking my post wrong......the day people are suppose to stack the pallets according to where things are in the store it is part of their job. I've done this before somewhere else, if you had ever stacked a pallet like these guys do you'd have had your ass reamed by the boss for it. It is a huge waste of time when you have to drag a pallet all around the store to unload it, then they wanna ask why you didn't get everything done. The reason I rag on management is because they are all young people who got promoted at once and geuinly don't know what they are doing. I'm not lying, they really don't know what they're doing. This one guy speaks such broken english no one can understand him...3 times in 2 weeks he didn't set the alarm and night and didn't lock the door, he's putting us in personal jeopardy doing that. Like I said I had done this sort of work before and it wasn't nearly like this everyone did their job filled their role and everything ran smoothly. Here it's like people running around like chickens with their heads cut off. Is it unreasonable to expect one of the managers to know who orders for the store? I was simply going to ask why we are ordering lawn and garden at the end of September and all of that stuff is going on clearance. The ordering problem is major we get freight that honestly has no where to go. It's like they see it's low on the shelf and order it without checking in the back room and seeing there are 10 boxes back there so here comes more on the truck. My point was simply 2-3 people can not roll 25 pallets of freight when they aren't stacked properly. If they'd take the extra 30 minutes when stacking them to look at where they go we might be able to roll that many with so few people. It doesn't help that also half the time they are stacked so poorly you put the jack in to pull them and they start tipping over. The job itself isn't that bad it's just like a ship with no direction. I'll be fully honest the hours thing pisses me off. Working 4-5 days only getting 24-30 hours is stupid as hell if you ask me. It's being part time but almost working full time. My friend just tells me I'm lazy because he thinks we can get 20 pallets done between the 2 of us when it's impossible with the way they're stacked so I don't even try to now because it is pointless. I think my favorite part is how the AC is turned off at night regardless of the temp so during the summer you feel like you are going to die.

Well I live in KC Missouri and I've never seen one of those...... I don't know if I'm even going to make it another 2 weeks with this job....of course I don't think it will matter that much since I'm going to go back to school and I'll just say I had to quit for school and the hours didn't work then, which would be true. I don't think anyone is going to look down on me for quitting to go to school.

Right now I work in a store overnight stocking shelves....I took it cause I needed the money and it was good pay. But now I'm to the point where the money isn't worth it anymore. Odd suggestion you make because......if I go back to school I'd probably go back to work in radio. And yes I know all about financial aid and all that I've basically come to the conclusion I have to go back....I'd quit tomorrow but my best friend works there and he'll probably throw a fit, then I'll get the lecture from my dad about quitting a job.

I'm probably going to have to go back to school.....I was looking for some suggestions for now that didn't involve that but I know it's basically something I'm going to have to do. I'd like to get a job in radio or something like that, but I'll have to go to school for that.....but in the meantime I want to get out of the job I'm doing right now as quickly as possible.

Considering how many movies he has lined up and how much money he's making for them.......he'll never have to come "crawling" back even if his movies bomb. It will always be his choice because even at this moment the Rock would never have to work another day in his life and he'd be fine. Hell his wife is the CEO of a fortune 500 company.

Only wrestling fans would bash a guy for actually using the business and getting into a better position. Vince uses and abuses wrestlers and spits them out when they're old and don't have it anymore......The Rock used wrestling to get to where he is now, he is still respectful of the business and understands that got him where he is now. What's the problem? I'd understand if he talked shit on wrestling now but he doesn't. The equivalent to this would be if you worked for a company for 5 years, worked your ass become the best employee in the company but worked constantly putting alot of undue strain on yourself. You get offered a better position from a bigger company that pays more but also affords you more time off and less work to do. You'd be a fool to not take it, so you take it. Would you expect everyone you work with and all your friends and people who know you to tell you that you'r selling out and your an asshole for taking a better job that requires less work and gives you more time at home?

You would've never gotten it anyway. It's been stated plenty that Rock hates Shawn Michaels and wouldn't want to work with the guy. Not that I don't believe it, but this is the first I've heard of it. Story? Back in 96-97 Shawn who is course buddies with Hunter and had pull basically burried the Rock to Vince. Saying the guy was nothing and would never be anything and they should just get rid of him. Then Shawn thought the Rock was stealing Hunters spot and kept bitching about that. Also the Rock has basically said Shawn was nothing but a complete prick to him the entire time he was around...... Add in that Bret Hart was the one guy who stood up for the Rock and told Vince he was the future of the company.........I think you can get the picture of why the Rock has no desire to ever work with HBK.

He said he doesn't find the Chappelle show funny...........maybe you well lack a sense of humor in general. The only people I've ever met that didn't think that show was funny came off like they had a giant stick up their ass and didn't think anything was funny. I don't personally know you but saying Chappelle isn't funny means your sense of humor must be kind of well.......different than 99% of people.

Isn't the company that owns those stations pretty much telling them they want Raw guys on the ECW show? I'm pretty sure that's part of the situation.
