Debra comes off as thinking because Steve Austin did something that means every single other wrestler must be just like that. It's like she has no understanding that people are different, I'm not questioning that Austin was like that but I don't see how her experience with Austin relates at all to Benoit. That would be like saying I dated a chick who worked in an office she tried to stab me therefor all office working women will try to stab men. Debra just comes off to me as someone who's not out there to say much about Benoit but to further herself, and trash Steve Austin and the WWE. -

I think it's more on the line of how she's doing it and when she's doing it........it looks like it's more for her personal gain than anything else like there is an agenda there more than just speaking out, like DeMott said where were you 5 years ago? -

I just watched that DeMott/Debra deal........I don't think Debra comes off very well other than the hosts back her and try to make DeMott look stupid. They ask him a question and cut him off before he can answer and she sits there and makes stuck up faces like he's just a big dumb guy. -

Well it's Phil Mushnick it's no secret he has an ax to grind with wrestling in general........this is a man who wrote that Ted Turner would be better served to shut down WCW than give money to charity some years ago. -

Phil Mushnick is back at it again pining for an end to the WWE and wrestling..... - Phil Mushnick of the NY Post gives his opinions on the story in his latest column. He says it's about time the media woke up to the problems in pro wrestling, particularly WWE, and calls out big names such as Donald Trump, Dick Ebersol, WWE Board member Lowell Weicker and Joe Lieberman for supporting WWE despite all of the wrestling-related deaths and questionable subject matter in its programming. http://www.nypost.com/seven/06292007/sport...il_mushnick.htm I like how he blames Vince for everything........everyone who hates wrestling and Vince with their axes to grind are coming out of the woodwork at this point. -

Depends what kind of religion you believe in to be honest, however I'm not religious so I probably shouldn't be elaborating on it. -

You'll have a hard time getting it he was essentially on and off the show throughout the whole hour, it wasn't like he did a 5 minute spot and was gone. I have it edited down to just his segments. Does anyone know why YouTube isn't allowing me to upload anything right now? Are they still doing maintenece? earlier they were and some things were available till it was done. -

Alot of people will not believe what Debra says just because it's Austin. I have a female friend who went apeshit about it, when she first said it and again now. All she says is "fuck that stupid bitch" stuff like that..... -

I enjoy the posts here that seem like they pretty much wish for there to be no more wrestling. Over the last few days my concerns have gone to what is the future of wrestling, what will occur. Bravo for wishing the death of wrestling on a wrestling board though....Nothing amazes me more than when the Vince haters now see this as their way to wish his company and the entire industry to be no more. It's pretty senseless to take this horrible horrible event and turn it into how Vince and the WWE are evil and should be put out of business by the government. -

This is from Meltzer "It's such a complex issue, but there are two different Chris Benoits. I think that's the key, because the one thing is is that the Chris Benoit that we all knew was not this guy, but this guy did change in the last year and I believe -- there's many issues -- but it was the preponderance of dealing with many deaths led to increased drug use and I think it drove him crazy. But at the same time, there were seeds of this early because you look at the 2003 thing where Nancy got the protection order against him so it does go back before the death of Eddie Guerrero, the death of Johnny Grunge, the death of Victor Mar all in a seven week period, and I really look at that as the turning point of Chris's life where he lost his best friend, he lost his best friend in Japan, and he lost the guy that would make him laugh when he was in the worst mood possible. It affects everyone, but the deaths affect Chris really bad, and I'm not just talking about those three guys, but if you look at from Davey Boy and Owen and Brian Pillman and Larry Cameron even though Larry Cameron was years ago, but if you look at guys that Chris was close with, even Stu even though Stu was old. The list is really long and I just think that that depression from all of that, you know a 40 year old guy. They were closer to him than to most people. Brian Hildebrand is another one. So many of his closest friends, most of his closest friends had passed away at a young age. And I am not making any excuses for what happened, but I am saying that these were the things to a guy who had a very dark side. Chris loved professional wrestling, but at the same time he was not stupid, and I think that that was an inner conflict as well. I think that all of these deaths had to tell him that there was something horrible, even though he would always say you cannot blame wrestling, the fact is that he had to at some point go, what's happening here yet at the same time he loved wrestling so deeply and a lot of other things led to more and more paranoia. Chris had gotten incredibly paranoid about everything and his drug usage had upped most likely over the last couple of months, and everyone pins the point from Eddie and those other two deaths." -

http://www.nytimes.com/2007/06/27/us/27wre...and&emc=rss QUOTE But Christopher Nowinski, a former professional wrestler who worked with Mr. Benoit, and who was forced to quit because of head injuries, said he believed that repeated, untreated concussions might have caused his friend to snap. “He was one of the only guys who would take a chair shot to the back of the head,” Mr. Nowinski said, “which is stupid.” Mr. Nowinski has written a book called “Head Games: Football’s Concussion Crisis” (Drummond Publishing Group, 2006), about chronic traumatic encephalopathy, a condition that can cause memory loss, depression and “bizarre, paranoid behavior.” Mr. Nowinski said that he had been trying to persuade the coroner examining Mr. Benoit to allow a brain exam to look for the telltale neurofibrillary tangles in the brain’s cortex, but that he had thus far been rebuffed. “Part of me hopes there was something wrong with his brain,” Mr. Nowinski said. “The Chris Benoit I knew was always more concerned about everybody else’s well-being than his own.” -

- WWE superstar King Booker sat down with KHOU out of Houston, Texas today to talk about the Benoit tragedy. Below are some of the highlights. Booker said that he knew Benoit personally and as most people in the business that knew Benoit have said, commented that he had never seen a bad side of Benoit. He noted that he knew Benoit’s wife Nancy and all of his children. He characterized what has happened as completely "out of the norm and unexplainable." Booker noted that he wrestled Benoit in 75-100 matches and just recently talked to him for about thirty minutes about the wrestling business. "We're all tired at certain points, we work a lot of hours, but I never saw this side of Chris. I've never seen Chris mad. I've never seen Chris angry. He was always the guy with a lot of positive energy, always pushing the guys." He went on to tell a story of a student that came to his wrestling school in Houston, Texas to be trained. Booker said that the student arrived from Illinois, with “no way to go back” and had $800 in his pocket. He revealed that the student carried around a photo of Benoit and Eddie Guerrero with him, as he was inspired by them to pursue a career in professional wrestling. "That was just the type of person he was, always encouraging people. He didn't even know this guy, but that's the type of person he was." Booker commented. When “roid rage” was brought up in the interview, Booker commented, "The media is going to put a spin on it, you know. We know that. WWE knows that. Did the guy last week who murders his wife and kid last week have any form of roid rage? He was a cop. This happens in any form of life. I feel like the human life is a delicate piece of equipment and everyone has their breaking point. We don't know what his breaking point was. You don't know what my point is, I don't know what your point is. We're all human. I just think it was a huge malfunction and whatever it was, we may never know. It's not for us to know. It's out of our hands and with God now." Booker said that the wrestling industry is a huge family and he’s cried and wanted to pull his hair out over the tragedy. He revealed that he loved Chris and said that he is mad to see him "go out like this. I'm pissed at him in certain ways. I wish I could just hold him for a second, but it's out of our hands. I'll be there at the funeral and tell him goodbye and hopefully see him on the other side. Hopefully, I'll find out what happened one day." -

No he should be remembered as the cold blooded killer that he is. He's a coward, and he deserves to be remembered as a murderer. If there is a hell, I hope he rots in it. You do understand he killed his wife and his kid, that goes so beyond the scope of wrestling and what he did inside the wrestling ring. That all means nothing now. He's a murderer, and should be treated no differently than anyone else who murdered someone. So why does the NFL still acknowledge OJ and his accomplishments.... -
