If he really sat in a house with 2 dead bodies for 24 hours that speaks to his state of mind at the time that's for sure. -

I came across this a bit ago and found it somewhat interesting.... Having an off thyroid can lead to things such as mental breakdowns. In fact, my mom even went through one, as well as her half-sister years before. Prolonged usage of steroids can lead to thyroid issues, which is often the reason why users get a bloated look as they get older. Sometimes, it can get quite serious, such as in Raven's case. Perhaps Benoit had a thyroid issue, which led to mental instablity. Here is more info the guy posted. QUOTE Steroids on thyroid - http://sportsci.org/encyc/anabstereff/anabstereff.html AS use may affect thyroid function. Administration of AS has been found to decrease thyroid stimulation hormone (TSH), and the products of the thyroid gland. In addition, thyroid binding globulin (TBG). These changes reversed within weeks after discontinuation of AS use. Thyroid on mental stability - http://www.thyroid.ca/Articles/EngE10F.html People with an overactive thyroid may exhibit marked anxiety and tension, emotional lability, impatience and irritability, distractible overactivity, exaggerated sensitivity to noise, and fluctuating depression with sadness and problems with sleep and the appetite. In extreme cases, they may appear schizophrenic, losing touch with reality and becoming delirious or hallucinating. -

Just posted on TMZ.com TMZ has learned more about the deaths of WWE wrestling superstar Chris Benoit, his wife and son -- and the information is extremely disturbing. Several Atlanta-based law enforcement sources have told TMZ prior to confirmation from the coroner's office, initial reports say that Benoit strangled his wife on Saturday, then smothered his son in his bed a day later. According to sources, Benoit then hanged himself in a weight room inside the family home. A police investigation is ongoing. -

And then the move onto the next match. What if they edited him out and it looked like Orlando was wrestling the invisible man? -

That's been posted before and it's basically debunked because the bodies are not in the same places the police said they found them. -

... WTF!? Heinous and horrible, even moreso than it already is?? I'm literally cringing here, I have a few possible thoughts on how it could get more horrible than it already is but i almost don't want to say it out loud* *(well out "loud" on a message board) As I alluded to earlier, I assume you mean necrophilia? Hey cmon now Triple H didn't kill people and walk around his house wearing a Kane mask.... -

That doesn't sound good one bit. About speculating, what can be done to NOT speculate? When someone and their family are found dead along with "tools of death" people can only wonder what happened. What the hell is a tool of death anyway, is it like clue where you name out shit like candlesticks? -

I just don't think they want to be perceived as supporting a supposed murder right now to people who visit their site. -

I guess this means that WWE might no a little more than we do, and want to distance themselves from a murderer. Even if it was eventually said that he wasn't right now all the major news outlets are reporting that as the story.....they probably don't want to look like they support murder to a random non wrestling fan visitor to their site looking to see something about the story. -

I have an assload of tapes, matches on my PC, and his DVD. I'm not going to even think about unloading any of it, but I'll never be able to watch a Benoit match again in the same way. I'm going to give it some time, I had a really difficult time with last nights show........I hope after some time, either something will be proven or I can block it out and seperate his work from his personal life. In a few months I'll give it a go of watching some things of him and see if I can make it through without breaking down or not feeling the same. -

You're going to get flamed for this post.........I tend to agree with you for the most part but I've seen it all over the net... The self righteous can't help but attack anyone who doesn't think he's a murdering asshole right now. -

Does it make me a morbid asshole that I'm not throwing away any of my Benoit DVDs/tapes merch and the like......like so many people seem to claim they are? -

They can't or won't erase history imo but they will not advertise or try to promote anything with his name it would appear. I still can't believe this is happening and I can't imagine how awful the wrestlers feel about the situation. To think a few days ago that not only would Benoit be dead but that he killed his own family, and the wwe essentially will disown him is just mind blowing. quite easily the darkest day(s) in wrestling history. A few days ago we'd have all thought Benoit was an example of what wrestling should be.....a great of all time. Someone that was the business and lived for it.......now he's a guy that is going to be disowned from it and never remembered........ -

I'd say it's just that WWE doesn't want to be seen as profiting from him at all right now. He's still mentioned on the site, still in title histories, etc... So basically you think in a few months.........he'll be added back to everything. -

I understand your stance, I do however think our country is behind alot of others in understanding mental illness. It's a tragic event that won't change no matter what they find but at this point I think I'd just like to remember the wrestler and not the person who apparently had more issues than anyone us ever knew. -

They can't just take him out of the DVD sets of like Mania unless they take the matches off........it's impossible to edit a man out of a match like that.... -

I think you should speak with a professional about it.......these are serious problems alot of people aren't aware of the severity of them......it causes normal people to do something that Benoit has likely done here....It's far more serious an issue than you make it out to be here where you are basically like "fuck him he should be able to control that" It's akin to being normal for the most part but blacking out like being drunk and waking up..... Do you understand what clinical depression and dementia are? This is more a general post than a comment on Benoit, Like I was saying earlier it seems people have very little sympathy for these people like they all should be able to control these problems and they're just fuck ups and it's nothing serious.......it's really not like that at all. I understand what you're saying,b ut I also don't need a lecture on mental illness. I'm a psychology major and one of my good friends is a diagnosed schizophrenic so I know a good amount of mental illness. I'm not ssaying to dismiss his illness IF there is in fact one. I'm saying let us not use that as a crutch to sort of give him a pass on why this was done. The man did a terrible thing plain and simple. Illness or not. Ok we can agree on this..... Also for the guy offended by my pics I already explained I have seperated the wrestler and the person here.......Chris Benoit the wrestler meant tons to me growing up as I explained a few pages back I can't just.....drop that with the snap of my fingers. I'll always have good memories of him as a wrestler because I seperate what he does on screen from what he does at home. -

Now I wouldn't do that so don't lump me in...........I've been very interested in all of the new concussion related to mental illness issues and have been studying alot of it in general as of late. I'm not saying it's a valid excuse that completely validates him killing people, but it would explain the complete change in his demeanor. I also wouldn't wish him to burn knowing that I'd know that he was a troubled man that had a serious problem he couldn't handle and did something he wouldn't have done in his right mind.... I know it's hard for some people to fathom what mental illness is. -

If he did it, comments like this are as tasteless as the jokes people were complaining about. Seriously. I liked the guy in the ring and was shocked when the news first broke yesterday. But if it turns out he killed his wife and CHILD, then there should be know, "well, let's get the whole story on why he did it." No. It doesn't matter why he did it. Nothing can excuse him killing a child. If it's true, I really don't know how anyone will be able to watch, let alone ENJOY a Chris Benoit match. I know I'd just be thinking the whole time, "This man killed his seven-year-old son." To hell with separating performer from the man. It's not like he robbed a bank or something. I'm sorry people suffering from mental illness do things they generally wouldn't do.....I understand not everyone understands what a mental illness is and some people get all self righteous and act like it isn't a valid excuse. If you've ever known anyone who has an issue with it you know they really are not themselves at times......especially if it's untreated or they are unmedicated. It's truly horrible that people are dead but to act like if he was suffering from something isn't anything to mention is frankly a sad statement also. I know its easy to say hey he's a fucker, fry this guy fry that guy......but people who suffer from that sort of things do think they wouldn't normally do....you do have to understand that aswell. I think tings like mental illness, depression and the like are glossed over by far to many people.....do you understand how devastating clinical depression is and what it can cause a person to do? I'm not making an excuse, it's still a horrible thing but it would also explain why Benoit would do something so out of character for him. -
