How can people vote for CM Punk for WRESTLER OF THE YEAR when all he did was squash Mike Knox all year?
-
Why do you guys keep converting your temperatures to Celsius?! BE NORMAL! Snow is terrible. Having to brush off your car chaps my ass. Having to de-ice a car doubly so. Snow doesn't really cause any danger, but ice certainly does, especially the demon known as black ice. And girls are cute in summer. In winter their hair is all f'ed up, they get all fat and pale, sick dude.

Yeah, it would. You know, in a way, I almost wish Punk were just a little smaller (I think he's about 20 pounds too heavy) so he could jump to Smackdown after the inevitable ECW crash and challenge for the Cruiserweight championship. That's probably one of the most unlikely things I would expect someone who likes Punk to say.

Vince sent Angle to destroy TNA just like he sent Hall and Nash to destroy WCW. I think we all know this as fact.

I liked it. On another note, has anyone seen Van Sant's "Gerry"? I've always wanted to but never got around to it. Its supposed to be Matt Damon and Casey Affleck lost in the desert for the whole movie. And I dig that.

Comments that don't warrant a thread
Wyld Cannon replied to King Kamala's topic in General Wrestling
This was amazing, but it comes in second to the night on Nitro when Scott defeated 6 or so cruiserweights BY HIMSELF. He nearly killed 3 of them as well which was the icing on the cake, especially Evan Karagias who was on the receiving end of a Second Rope Exploder. -
I only went to two shows this year I think and they were both awesome. American Nightmare/Dillinger Escape Plan/AFI I don't know how these bands got together but I'm pretty sure there were 3 different audiences packed into Avalon that night. American Nightmare was pretty lame, I wasn't into the, I had heard of DEP but never heard them, my buddy who I went with is really into them. They are loud. I don't like Math Rock but I can appreciate the complexity. I don't like jacked up lead singers though its weird. At one point he grabbed a speaker, stood it up, and kicked over for no reason. AFI was awesome, played 1/3 Decemberunderground, 1/3 Sing The Sorrow, and 1/3 older stuff. They ended with God Called In Sick Today which was awesome. mewithoutYou/Thursday There was another band here but fuck I just can't remember. Thursday is one of my favorite bands and they delivered. Awesome show.

Yeah but just think of the possibilities if Brown joined that group and debuted as the jungle cat MUFASA.

History's greatest monster, indeed. -
I only wear black socks for two reasons. I'm a "businessman" and you can't wear white socks with black shoes and slacks, and because they last much longer without appearing to need washing. I wear black socks on the weekends and out of work as well so there goes my business excuse. I often eat sleeves of crackers for dinner instead of cooking or preparing anything. I eat out of tupperware so i can just throw it in the fridge. I hang out in the crapper at work playing cell phone games.

I wanted Nakamura to beat Tanahashi too, but I think a title change here would've been more damaging than the GHC title change was.

Examples of Milking a Franchise After It's Lifespan Ended

Thats hogwash! The storyline was tremendous throughout and Defiance was the best game of the series. -
I generally agree with this, but overall I don't think the title has been tarnished that bad. Rikioh was bad, but Taue and Akiyama didn't necessarily bring the value of the belt down, they just had less than stellar reigns. I think it was important for Taue to have his day in the sun, and I think the experiment of of a Junior as heavyweight champ was important and was handled decently enough. I think once Morishima gets it he will have that "super reign" (6 or 7 defenses, no reason to top Kobashi first time out) and I personally think when he does drop it down the road it should (and probably will) be to Kenta.

WON News + Notes, 4th December Issue
Wyld Cannon replied to The Decemberists's topic in The WWE Folder
The Rock's entire rise to prominence was based on comedy. A significant portion of the audience was watching because the Rock was funny. This leads to increased ticket sales, merchandise, and even PPV buys. Comedy can draw money just as much as "drama". Just because you don't want a comedy act to draw as well as serious World title struggle doesn't mean it can't or won't. -
Who the hell wrote this? "The Extreme Giant" "The 500 pound Extremist" WE GET IT, he was in ECW. Extremists sounds lamer than Superstars. Big Show is a good guy and I hope he never loses feeling in his EXTREME-ities.

Wasn't the highest rated segment of RAW of ALL TIME the stupid Rock/Foley This is Your Life skit? -
This is pretty gay, pardon the euphemism. Blaming the restaurants because your city is fat is ridiculous. This is also quite unfair to such non fatsos such as myself who can eat all the unhealthy food they want and still look like a million bucks. But no, all they worry about is the fatties. I'm tired of all the preferential treatment those fat bastards get. On the flipside, why couldn't they make the switch in six months??? How long does it take to use up one shipment and switch to the new stuff??

Wyld Cannon replied to The Decemberists's topic in The WWE Folder
Fred Blassie knows a thing or two about wrestling, not so much about Sports Entertainment. And those skits occurred in July of 01 and looking at the ratings they steadily increased throughout the month and those skits were a major part of RAW. Ratings = money. I also recall the Invasion PPV doing really well that year, so that also means it drew money. -

Nothing is better than "Great Ceasar's Ghost". Maybe "Hot Pot of Coffee" is a close second. -
Muto & Chono vs. Tenkoji has been added to the big Dome show on 1/4/07 That's pretty badass on paper or maybe in a video game but pretty awful in theory and reality since they all pretty much eat it in the ring. It's like Flair & Hogan vs. DX without all the fun politics. Also added is the winner of Nakamura/Tanahashi vs. Taiyo Kea. I thought this show was supposed to be big. I'm interested in Nagata vs. Suzuki only because I want Nagata to win the Triple Crown.

It's funny because back then I was clamoring for any puroresu I could find, and at the time I wasn't finding anything on IMESH(!) and Napster(!). Now I have a harddrive full of it that I haven't hardly watched any of. I think I enjoy collecting it more than watching. All of the above statement applies to porno as well. I kind of really miss Rantsylvania/The Smarks. I never really agreed with Skeith or Sean Shannon but after that went down and The Shooters went down there were no sites doing fairly good wrestling commentary anymore. I went to 411 for awhile but it was lame. Then I hung out at Death Valley Driver but they're so uppity with their board and their "esoteric" trends. I suppose its hard to write about wrestling when it sucks.

I just got into these guys and they really rev my engine. I can see why they're not very accessible to many people because of the vocals and the discord, but i dig em. I picked up all of their albums. Burn Piano Island Burn is supposed to be their best, i dig it but i like Crimes better. Their new album Young Machetes is really good too. I noticed Wikipedia lists them as Post Hardcore Art Punk. Labels are fun to throw around when you're trying to describe stuff to people who have no idea what you're talking about.
