You have to stop looking at Favre as "Hall of Famer that's better than what most teams can offer at QB" and start looking at him as "Guy who's retired twice and could theoretically decide he's had enough at any point, leaving you up shit creek having given up players/draft picks to get a QB that didn't make it through training camp".

New rumors: -Dropping a field goal results in 1st and 10 for the team that kicked it, instead of...whatever it's supposed to be, I'm not 100% on the rule myself. I think it's "dead ball, turnover" like if you block it but it still goes past the line of scrimmage and hits the ground. -The sliders allegedly do nothing. One guy says he had pass rush on 100, pass blocking on 0 and LSU's front couldn't get pressure on Tulane. -Blitzes do nothing; apparently the blitzers don't go into the gaps...where they do go is anybody's guess, nobody's been very specific on this one compared to the others. Looks like this year's copy will be picked up used. Next summer. When it's $5.

There's another rumor that those EA edited names are what's causing most of the issues, because the rosters aren't meant to have things (from what I've read, specifically apostrophes) in them. If this is true, this makes apparent what most NCAA/Madden fans already know: the developers have no fucking clue what they're doing. They make a game for an entire year and don't realize "Hey, can't put apostrophes in player names or TEAMS DISAPPEAR AND THE GAME FREEZES"?

It was the debut of Kane as well as the HIAC. True it's misleading, but any time the match is ever mentioned it is primarily centered around "THAT'S GOTTA BE KANE" and Michaels is only mentioned in passing as the benefactor of Kane's interference.

I played the demo. All it did was motivate me to get Civ IV; the controls were good but compared to a mouse & keyboard they felt clunky and unintuitive, and for whatever reason I couldn't take a single village over because they built a wall and had archers.

For some reason I thought of the WWF's Who from the mid-90s, and the last few pages have been more amusing as a result.

I wish there was more on the Legends game. I'm looking forward to that way more than SvR this year, and that's keeping in mind that I shudder to think of how bad the Legends storyline mode will probably be. On the other hand, though, it's possible that with many Legends no longer with us, they will go with text-only storylines which makes for a far better experience.

If it doesn't start right away I'll probably join, but don't wait for me. If you get enough to start, go for it. I've got student loan bills coming in this month and I just got the "Xbox Live Gold expired" email, so I probably won't get the game for at least another month while I'm paying this shit off.

The N64 next to the 360 is a nice touch. Its all covered in dust and stuff though Just like mine. I just found it when I was cleaning the basement. I'm tempted to make an N64-to-USB connector so I can stop playing N64 games with a knockoff PS2 controller.

I never really got this complaint. I mean, you do go through several parts over again, but the latter stages you can skip, and/ or you have power ups to make the first several floors take seconds to get through. I'll agree it was probably not necessary, but I feel it was an attempt to possibly make the temple feel harder as you have to go through several stages to get to the end. I guess I just didn't find it repetitive because I flew past the first few floors after I had completed them. It's just pointless game-lengthening. I mean, I got through two elemental temple things (I still have one corner of the map to uncover yet) and I gave up on the game because the TotOK is just mindless drivel. Enemies that kill you in one hit that you can't even harm coupled with having to repeat the same temple with a time limit...granted it's not like it's a super-restrictive time limit or anything, but I've never been a fan of time trial anything and that's basically all the temple is, repeating the same steps & processes as fast as you can so you can 'get back to the game'.
