I never understand what Jerry Angelo is trying to say. "We're not here to outsmart anyone, or show off any of our geniusness," indeed. I think he means "There may be more talented QBs with more potential, but we'd have to groom them and teach them and build them just as much as we have to groom and teach and build Rex"

Jesus, this thing is playing out more nonsensically than a Phoenix Wright case.

WWE General Discussion - February 2008

Yes, but in "Wrestlemania's main event is the biggest moment of your career" terms, cashing in MITB at the end of Wrestlemania assures that you'll have 'main-evented' the biggest show of them all, on the off chance you aren't fortunate enough to win the Rumble or go into the show as champion in the future. Many have held the championship, but that number's huge compared to the number of guys that can say they main evented Wrestlemania, cheap MITB cash-in or not. -

It's a worked injury. Why would they work a manager's knee injury? -
It's one of those spots where if you've seen it before, it isn't that impressive, but if you've never seen it and aren't expecting it...it's a wow, but just shy of a holy shit.

It's been 30 hours and 21 minutes, I'm picking too. Carolina selects Malcolm Kelly, WR, Oklahoma. Carolina needs a definitive #2 behind Steve Smith and Kelly brings everything a GM could want in a receiver. With Moore developing into a respectable backup and Delhomme coming back from injury, Williams and Foster balancing the run game with Goings a solid third man, the O-Line relatively solid barring the loss of Wahle...seems to be the best choice. I considered Mendenhall for his power running, Branden Albert to fill the hole left by Wahle, and Keith Rivers out of USC to help solidify the linebacking corps that loses Dan "Oh god my head" Morgan.

Crowd doesn't seem to like Pretty Boy Floyd all that much.

Carolina better come calling for Muhammad and Crumpler. Those are two guys they can't afford to pass up, and they can always ditch Carr to open some cap room.

Ah yes, the lost art of the "Holy fuck my back is being raked across metal grating" sell. I personally think the best part is when Taker flew through the door because dumbass referees forgot to lock it, and then all three combined to fuck with it to make it look like it had failed and they were fixing it. It's a bolt-action style lock, there's no way it was going to break; and if it did you wouldn't have been able to re-use it.

No. You're just going to end up with punters constantly chip-shotting so that the gunners can just lay a hit on the return man and try to force a fumble; and if you institute a halo a) that's another steal from the XFL and b) they'll just time their charge to be outside the halo when the return man catches it. -

The question from a while ago about what rule I'd change: I'd get rid of the "You're fined if you criticize the league/referees" bullshit. Especially after the whole Donaghy situation, they'd look like real cocks for fining somebody for saying "Crooked referees!". EDIT: Furthermore I'd fix the clock situation so it's accurate. There should NOT be a one second pause between the 1:00 mark and the 59.9 mark, those times are 0.1 different, not 1.1. There's an extra second being added to the games and I am outraged (and waiting for a coach to invoke it when his team's beaten in the final second, just to be a jerk) Best athlete ever: Deion Sanders, but I'm too young to remember any of Bo Jackson. -
Well HHH got his pin back. Could've been worse but Hardy's MITB-bound.
-
Sha Na Na for the 'victorious' Cena.
-
First and third punches were clean shots to Show's face, the overhand right went over his head. Show's bleeding from the nose.
-
Flair survives. A previously injured knee and a minute in the figure four don't make you submit, but one chop block from Flair and that knee is SHOT, apparently.
-
RINGPOST FIGURE FOUR. Also, don't miss this match. When Foley 'retired' it was at No Way Out and he was given a match at Wrestlemania; don't be surprised to see it repeated here.

GertT is on the clock with Cena due up. banky, as always, can pop in at any moment.
-
Marvin is "on the clock" with banky able to jump in at any time. Also, banky 'lost' the fourth pick; that is, the fifth, sixth and seventh selections would be recorded as fourth, fifth and sixth, and banky gets the pick of whenever he jumps in (so if it was now the selection would go down as the seventh pick, and Baltimore would be back at their real #8.)

I dunno, Joey, the Sacramento fans didn't seem too happy when Sing Along with The Rock mentioned the Lakers beating the Kings. -
Let's Talk About....WrestleMania IV
Mike wanna be replied to King Kamala's topic in General Wrestling
With Kamala down, guess I have to pick up the HTM defense. One could argue that the DQs and count-outs established him as a great IC champion. You concede he was a shitty wrestler; if you're going to kayfabe it, HTM knows he's a shitty wrestler. He knows he isn't going to feasibly out-wrestle most of the #1 contenders for his title. He recognizes he has a very slim chance of putting himself in, or having his opponent inadvertently put him in, a situation where he can win the match and retain the title; so he instead opts to put himself into the inverse situation, one where he cannot lose the title. -

Cena shirt: I'd buy it. Eminem: He's got more name value than Federline, and they brought him in and put him over Cena. My only concern is Vince nixing the deal at the last second because he doesn't understand why they'd want to re-hire Joey Mercury. -
He was sick as well as injured, he could barely take practice swings or trot around the bases without collapsing, it was his only AB of the Series, he was facing a HoF pitcher and it was the always lovable "3-2, 2 outs, World Series" scenario.

EA Sports Locks Up NFL License... Again
Mike wanna be replied to Jaxxson Mayhem's topic in Video Games
They won't shut down the sports division, it's too easy to go "OK, can the scouts and just start making numbers up, we're going indie!" and APF2k8 it. Plus it takes hardly any effort to update a game when you don't have real players to scout and update. -
It isn't really "skipping", per se. If you run out of time in the NFL draft and the team selecting after you gets their pick in, the pick counts as valid. The team that missed their selection can jump in at any time with a selection, but until then the teams picking behind them can continue to make selections. I'd say 12 hours, PM, 12 hours, pass pick to the next person. At the moment we're on hour 32, but I've no idea if he was PMed or not, because it says that you'll be PMed if you are late getting a pick in.

Ryland's up on TEW. You're a traitor for not supporting his future endeavors, TheTomster. I'd like to see Matt/MVP, but I will be honest in admitting that I don't care what card it's on, where on said card it is located, or what title happens to be on the line at the time.
