They're on sale to the general public this Saturday, so the pre-sale was probably last Saturday. -

They did one for RAW in Buffalo as well as Smackdown/ECW in Rochester, so I believe they do it everywhere. If you google, say, "early ticket sale RAW" with the location and date handy should you need to be more specific, you can usually find somebody that's asked on a forum that's gotten a response. -
tl;dr: Lashley's not gone, but he wants to be and he just hasn't gone through the official motions to get a release from his contract.

The golf market's been the same for years. Golf's problem is its horrific repetitiveness, and I'm not even talking about the gameplay. If Tiger and Phil play they get hyped to high heaven. If a girl shows up and tries to compete (Wie or Sorenstam) then they get hyped for the first half and Tiger/Phil get the hype added to theirs for the weekend when the girls are back at home making sandwiches or whatever they do when they make fools of themselves by shooting on the same level as some nobody who barely deserves his Q Card. If Tiger/Phil don't play and no girls show up to try to compete, then nobody gives a shit and it's just full of faux-subtle "Now uh Tigah, Tigah coulda made that green in two but uh, this um, this here uh, Els! Els can't make that shot, Randy." blathering. Question: Assuming you're given a blank check, name a stadium you want to see updated/upgraded/modified and what change(s) you want to be made. -
Sundin needs to go. Not "He sucks" he needs to go, but "He's 38 and deserves a shot at a Cup while Toronto needs assloads of help and can get at least part of it by moving Sundin". If they trade him, though, JFJ is 100% gone; Sundin's the captain (and has been for a while), the best player on the team (and has been for a while) and the heart & soul of the Maple Leafs (...you see what I'm getting at.)

As they say, "A new scientific truth does not triumph by convincing its opponents and making them see the light, but rather because its opponents eventually die and a new generation grows up that is familiar with it". We gamers just need to hold on to our "Fuck you, let the characters do whatever the hell they want" stance for another decade or two and we'll be fine. -

Doring works the northeastern independents. He's got a minor NWA title at the moment -
It sounds badass, but I'm always hesitant when games release "Over ___ variations to your character!" information so early. That always leads to "wth there aren't ___ options" when it comes out because of time constraints, or worse yet the age old "95% of those 'options' suck balls, and the other 5% are just ridiculously super-powered in the game, so you'll use those and never touch the others unless you want a challenge/get bored/slip on the selection screen" scenario.

Well, they're in MSG, so I'm fully expecting Hardy to find his way back up in the same position he did at Rumble 2000 (assuming they use the traditional MSG entrance set-up, which is the main reason why I'm hoping this happens) to recreate that moment, only Orton moves and Hardy wipes out through the table. I still see Orton winning via pinfall from that point, but they can try and use the stunt to keep Jeff strong, have him kick out when he first gets back into the ring as a hope spot but eventually get pinned. Just have it be a no contest. Hardy crashes and burns, EMTs out and he's carted off unable to continue. Orton can come out the next night on RAW and demand he have his hand raised in victory, Hardy reports live via satellite from the hospital that you didn't win because you didn't beat me, and they're set for a NWO rematch, Hardy wins and you go triple threat at Wrestlemania, Hardy v. Orton v. #1 contender

I have to say Tyson, but there are several options for the question. Tyson obliterated everybody he fought, and before Cus D'Amato's death he was an absolute student of the game, able to rattle off several statistics on his opponent in the post-fight interview after introducing said opponent's brain to the entirety of the inside of their skull. I will most certainly second the Jerry Sloan response. I've already got a question being carried over, so I'll let the previous two carry as well. EDIT: Actually, just stumbled across a question. If Halls of Fame can vote someone out for their off-the-field discrepancies (Rose and Shoeless Joe out for gambling, and Benoit being in a recall vote for the WON Hall of Fame this year), cannot a Hall of Fame vote someone IN for their off-the-field achievements (charitable works, creating foundations/scholarships, etc.)? If one of those borderline ballplayers were to start up a foundation for some sick kids and raise millions of dollars for their care, could that give him a push into the Hall of Fame, and should it? -
Scorpio: And to prove I'm not bluffing.... First UN Ambassador: Oh dear god, the Queensboro Bridge! Other UN Ambassador: Maybe it just...collapsed on its own? First Ambassador: We can't take that chance. Other UN Ambassador: You ALWAYS say that! I want to take a chance!

In hockey, a puck did hit a fan in the face, and it ended up killing her; that's why they have those huge nets coming from the ceiling to protect the fans in the goal ends of the rink. The odds are miniscule of fan death, I admit, but hockey and baseball are two sports that have lethal projectiles flying about on a regular basis, and both happen to be sports that seriously cannot afford metaphorical black eyes thanks to the literal shattered orbital bones coming from getting pegged in the face with one of those things. (Besides, it'll cut down on hockey fights in a bloody hurry if you've got a metal fence between your fist and your opponent's face) Players I dislike: Derek Jeter. He just comes off as this smarmy douche to me, and he's the Ultimate Yankee. More like the "Holy shit, how did they not trade this guy for a bunch of 35-year-old players with big arms/bats like they did the rest of their minor league talent?" Miracle Yankee, because I think I'd like him more if he wasn't on the team he's on. I don't like Clemens or A-Rod, as I've chronicled in the thread that involved discussion of their contracts. Not a huge fan of Tom Brady, I think he's a product of the system who has good decision making skills but average arm strength and accuracy that's obscured from view by the fact that he has all day to choose between at least 4 Pro Bowl caliber targets as well as 2 good running backs, and a solid defense that doesn't put them in positions where they have large margins to make up and he has to carry the team for prolonged periods of time. AFC East competitiveness depends on what you define as "competitive". I think they've got a shot at a wild card playoff team in 2008 and 2009, but as far as "Can anybody other than the Patriots win the division" being the definition of competitive, it really depends on who stays and who retires on that defense. Seau hung it up and came back to New England for the Super Bowl ring, and if he gets it I don't see him continuing to play beyond 2008 (assuming he comes back at all). Question: Would you ever leave early from a sporting event; and if so, and if your team were to make a remarkable comeback, how much effort would you put in to get back in the arena? -

Bad for the sport. They fuck up their scheduling to build "more intense, emotional" rivalries, and then jack up the penalties and fines when players get intense and emotional and throw down the gloves? It's like legalizing face mask penalties in football and then instituting a $1000 fine when you break somebody's neck by wrestling them down by the skull. On the face mask note, should baseball and hockey players be required to wear full face masks along with their helmets in light of the injuries to Encarnacion (whose career is probably done) as well as several high-profile players in hockey getting pucks to the face (Yzerman and Sundin recently, and there's an article about the first black player in the NHL who's 95% blind in his right eye thanks to a slapshot he took when he was younger)? Sure it pussifies the game a little bit, but fuck if I'm going out there with what amounts to a flying rock going 100+ MPH and wearing a cheap helmet with no facial protection at all. -
It takes a respectable April through September to even be playing past the third of October. And I like interleague play, dammit. No other game is divided by leagues not playing in the other league other than the final game/series of the playoffs and it seems to be working well for the other sports. Seriously, how many Florida/Washington games do we need?

I would imagine that the Rumble winner gets first choice, the EC winner gets second choice, and however they decide #3 gets the shot at the third title. They've had guys go from one show to the other to challenge for titles, so it shouldn't make a difference which show wins what match.

Seems they know about it, because they're running a poll asking if he should get what he's asking for. He's won over the late night/early morning crowd, with about 3000 votes in it's 91% Yes. -

If he'll pay Kevin Federline money to come into his organization and go over his top champion, why would he NOT pay Britney Spears money to come in and, uh, do....something? I have no idea what she'd do, but who knows. Maybe Vince will bring in Federline one more time and have a nice little Britney/Federline reunion right there at Wrestlemania. -
I don't think it's so much a commendation of Styles and/or Coachman as it is a "You know what, it's just about time for you morons to fire me again, so you might as well get the New Breed of Commentating some on-air practice." statement.

I'm going to have to say there's validity to black athletes being better than white athletes, but I don't know how the fuck I'm to explain whether or not slave fucking had anything to do with it. The only argument I could try to make would be to argue that the biggest and strongest slaves were 'studded out', and so they were kinda like horses. This argument will probably go over about as well as Jimmy the Greek's did. Hall of Fame: I really have no idea. I'm getting closer and closer to having to say Art Monk, which is a shame. I could say Pete Rose, but then you have to look at the fact that Clemens could lose his HoF spot if he's found guilty of the HGH McNamee says he injected and that puts him up there with Charlie Hustle. By the same token if Clemens goes in you have to put Rose in...well, you have to put Rose in if you don't want to look like a prejudiced, grudge-carrying jackoff but it really depends on whether or not Selig is the commissioner at the time of Clemens' potential induction. Should it? Abso-freakin-lutely. Will it? Doubtful. The NFL rakes in too much from non-NFL fans who pay big-ass money for tickets to "The Big Game" and those types of people don't want to freeze their asses off. They make too much in advertising to risk it on a god-awful game (though it would take a string of horrible games for this to have an effect). I'd like to see Buffalo get a Super Bowl before Ralph Wilson dies. Sure he named the stadium after himself and he's made some atrocious decisions, but without him Buffalo doesn't have a team and the NFL doesn't have an AFL merger, they have an AFL absorption. It's just a real shame that the rabid fanbases in Philly, Buffalo, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, etc. don't get Super Bowl games in their area while Florida has Miami, Tampa & Jacksonville, Texas has Dallas (in "Dallas Cowboys New Stadium", no less) & Houston, California's got San Diego (and they're really hoping for LA)...New Orleans gets one, Minnesota might get one if the Metrodome ever gets updated, Indianapolis is virtually guaranteed one (probably XLVI) shortly as long as the Lucas Oil Stadium doesn't collapse...Tennessee is a potential target... And now, finally, my question: Tyson in his prime v. Ali in his prime. Who wins, and decision or KO (and KO in what round)? -
They air a UWF PPV...skipping the Terry Gordy/Johnny Ace 'street fight' and jumping to the Killer Bees against "The Power Twins". Slightly made up for by hearing John Tolos audibly tell a fan to "Shut up an' siddown, you pieceashit!"

I love that the only real sell for the switchover so far has been 'Snitsky will be even more disgusting'. WWE, always giving fans what they want. What's the odds on the Kiss My Ass Club being resurrected next week, just because? I would have to think that Vince is warped enough to think we're going to like seeing the pimples on his ass. Kiss my ass club, I guess no. Kiss my High Definition ass (high definition JR!) club, almost a lock. -
I laughed when they booed her. She laughed too. And she's going to be at the coin toss of the AFC title game along with her family, so it isn't like it wasn't worth it, even if it did mentally scar her for life (which it clearly didn't).

There's no way to word it better. EA has exclusive licenses for NFL and NCAA, so if you want either of those you only have EA as a choice. There's All Pro Football 2k9, should that come out. There's that other game with the realistic physics engine....Backbreaker, or something like that. I have no idea if that's a game or a physics demonstration, though.
-
If you're talking 09, then wait until mid-October to buy one, check the internet reviews as well as the EA forums for each game. Both NCAA 08 and Madden 08 were major steps forward in a lot of ways, but a handful of steps back in others including bugs, freezes, glitchy discs, etc. and by waiting you have the benefit of seeing what issues they had and what they already patched. If you want an 08 game, I would recommend NCAA, I always do. It's just more fulfilling to me to build a shitty school like Baylor to be a competitive force (only to bounce from school to school to save them from the drudgery of 1-11, 0-8 seasons) than it is to play one year as a bad NFL team, take good draft picks and great free agents and be in the playoffs.
