Nice melon. High five?

HHH gets "blinded" by powder. Immediately after this, he hits Carlito with a spinebuster, recognizes the referee enough to not hit him when he tries to pull the chair away, turns around and low-blows Carlito, and then Pedigrees him. Then he has the audacity to get a bottle of water (from the proper corner, no less) to clear the powder from his eyes.

I'm really hoping for a Burke upset. Morrison hasn't been successful as ECW champion and to boot his suspension messed up the preplanned finish to his feud with Punk. The belt doesn't mean a damned thing anyway so it might as well bounce back and forth between two talented, charismatic workers rather than getting plopped back on the Maestro of Monotony, the Baron of Boring, the Deacon of Dull, John Morrison.

Arkansas is getting splattered 21-0 at the end of the first quarter. ND got smashed, which is great because I've got an ex-girlfriend that goes there. Of course, this begs the question of "What would the score be of an Appalachian State/Notre Dame game?"

Chris Benoit Dead - Toxicology results released

The theory, as I understand it, is that the suicidal portion blame the illness/themselves for their depression and thus want to off themselves, while the homocidal/genocidal blame others for their depression and want to off them. -

I guess he's arguing that he shouldn't get strike one for buying the stuff and strike two for using them. Seems sort of double jeopardy-ish, though; once you've bought the drugs what choices do you have? Selling them is illegal, using them is illegal and I'm assuming they aren't cheap enough for anyone to just say "Oh well" and flush them without a set of law enforcement officers pounding down your door. -

It's pretty sad when somebody used as much as Masters did, but they spend so little time on television it's impossible to tell if they were suspended for 30 or 60 days. -
They do entirely too much work on the roster. Seriously, consider how much time they piss away deleting characters that are already in the game, only to add characters for the current game that will be deleted before production wraps up on the next year's game. Give me No Mercy's ability to edit names and entrances and attire with the Smackdown series' ability to change movesets and stop wasting time bouncing people (especially legends, but it's sadly also true about the regular roster) in and out. That said: PS3 gets downloadable wrestlers, says Wikipedia. 360 better get them too, you sorry pieces of trash. The entire reason they left out embedded custom entrance music was "because PS2 can't have them it wouldn't be fair, and also we don't want to bother with something for only one sector of the consumers when we can work on something all buyers of the game can enjoy.", so that better be in too. I didn't spend as much time as I did searching out Owen Hart entrance music to have to go fishing through the player to get it to play for me only, dammit.

I'm surprised the What got over, but it's sort of fun to look back on the promos and realize how many of them were set up so the crowd could say "What?" with pre-set pauses in between the words. As for more present-day stuff...Austin sets himself up for the "What?"s, as evidenced by his constant counting and repeated use of synonyms: "You're pathetic, what, you're a loser, what, you're a bum, what, you're a nobody, what YOU SUCK"

The winner of the 2007 NBA Draft: the Seattle Supersonics! Oden's done for the year.

Shit. Not only do I NOT get to see the Carolina game, but THAT game has Gus Johnson and I'm stuck with Solomon Wilcots and the Pittsburgh Steelers v. That Kevin Everett Team. That's gotta be screwed up, why would they send Johnson AND Steve Tasker? Tasker was a Bill for god's sake. And can someone tell me why there's only one game on FOX? Is it some sort of rule that you only get one late game?

You die fast (which is good and bad), the ragdoll death is amusing, the killcam is cool and educational, and the upgrades seem pretty badass. I'll be playing this one until they take it from me.

Maybe I'm nuts, but why does ECW only have one match at Unforgiven? Richards/Thorn is still relatively hot and they haven't done a gimmick match yet. Boogeyman/BDV has been hyped but not yet delivered, and they're going to give it away free 2 days later instead of at the PPV? And Balls/Miz hasn't been wrapped up... -
You'd have a really good SvR game if you took all the legends they've had and put them in a game. I'm always disappointed in that there's always one really "Oh, that's just badass" addition to the legends roster (DiBiase, Perfect, now Rude) but then they take them out the next year.

Since the NCAA thread is apparently missing, I'll just post it here. In 2009, the consensus #1 team in the nation is UNLV for the sole reason of "They're the only undefeated team". All first-place votes in both the coaches and media polls go to UNLV. For the record, UNLV did not play a single team that spent a single week on the top 25 list of any poll. EDIT: They were crushed by 22 in the national title game, and dropped out of the top 25 for the following season. They're down to a C+ overall, so methinks Cinderella is long gone. HOWEVER, a badass thing I noticed is that NCAA 08 on the 360 (can't say if it does on any other console) now keeps track of every team's team records, so when you change teams they have the updated records (Mike Hart has the UM season rushing record, for example). This almost makes up for having a 30-season limit when at least half the all-time coaching records are impossible to achieve in 30 years. Almost.

I haven't had any problems with any of the No Mercy mods available with the Project64; I'd imagine the base game would work just as well, but I haven't played that nearly as much.

He was clearly smashed in his match with Marella; watch him wobble on the barricade more than usual during the entrance, and then watch him take that weird bump after Marella Irish whips him into the corner.

Are they going to be a recurring thing? I hope so, because I always get pissed at CBS and Fox for paying so much for the NFL license only to show one game on the east coast and then some stupid other garbage for three hours that doesn't draw 1/3 the ratings even the worst NFL game could. And in the ultimate "It's so accurate it's sad", Kevin Everett is currently listed as day-to-day.

TNA's real reaction: a) Why didn't we think of that? b) How fast can we hire our own midget? c) How quick can we write a promo including a blatant shot at them for this? d) All of the above

I really wish the news/doctors could get their story straight. Every article I see about Everett is a combination of "Here's how he's doing" and "We won't know how he's doing until *time period* passes". On Sunday we knew it was a spine injury and it'd be a couple of days. Today we "know" how bad of an injury it is and we'll "know" in about three days the extent. Their official statement of the injury at the moment:

It's a ripoff of "Mr. Delusional Notre Dame fan" that was made in late August; they just changed the team names and threw in a Bud Light.

I'm this close to playing D&D with my girlfriend. Coincidentally I'm this close to scoring with her as well. I should invest in a robe and wizard hat, kill two birds with one stone.

He was booked against Cena in a dark match, where Cena usually wrestles on RAW when he's not in the main event itself. And considering Cena's nutjob attack on Regal, Cena qualifies as the psychotic monster of punishment.
