Wrestling stopped being kid-friendly in the early 90s. Wake up, parents. -

Turns out Kennedy was just his middle name, and he was using it to be polite and not infringe on the Mister McMahon name. -
Mussina should get there if he stays around four another 4-5 years. That's looking less and less likely with every start, though. I doubt Oswalt will make it. Same with Santana. Neither of them has enough years left (Oswalt is 29 with 108 wins, Santana 28 with 89 wins). They'd both need to go for another 12-15 years (which is more possible now than in years past, I'll admit). I'd rate Santana somewhat more likely because he's a lefty. It's harder to do nowadays because pitchers are becoming full-time starters later and later. Clemens and Maddux were 21 when they became full-time starters, and Glavine was 22. Oswalt's first full year as a starter came when he was 24. Santana was 25 in his first full year. Throw in injuries and poor teams, and you can see how it's so difficult. Look at Randy Johnson -- he's not going to make it, and he pitched until he was 43. He only had three injury-shortened seasons, but he wasn't a full-time starter until he was 25. The only pitchers that would have a chance are the ones on the really good teams, since they have the best shot at 20-win seasons...that said, if Tim Lincecum's claims of arm durability are true, I'd say he's got a pretty good shot if the Giants don't suck for a decade.

They're all covered, now. Until next year, anyway.

That was a role? Ladder match sucked major ass. It was just "He's climbing the ladder, oh that guy stops him! Now THAT guy climbs the ladder! And the other one stops him! The other one! THE OTHER ONE! GOING! LADDER GOING UP CONTRACT!" until the run-ins began.

Who wins the World Heavyweight championship from the unbeatable Khali due to interference from Batista? Wait, Raw's in America this week. Nevermind. -

It doesn't even make any fucking sense. Vince's last "feud" was with Lashley and they just shelved him. After that he went loco, and then went kablammo. What would he have to strike back about? I don't think it's going to be "Fuck Chris Benoit" night, but that's about the only thing Vince has to on-air complain about that anybody remembers. -
Demo won't be until the weekend, probably. And when examining my NCAA 08 disc under the old desk lamp, I noticed a little...inconsistency, I guess you could call it. Like a part of it wasn't burned properly, it's sort of like this (black's burned, white's unburned): Anybody else's disc have this? It's right along the edge, it's sort of a bitch to see unless you've got the light angled just so.

If Orton wins the belt....who runs in to save Cena from the PUNT~? -
I still say NCAA 2004 is the best game in the series thus far.

It looked like it was Lashley's elbow, not his shoulder...especially after another look at that hangman's armbreaker over the top rope. -

Opportunity to make Kennedy & Carlito stars. Hassan? No, just Daivari. Even Lillian Garcia shakes her head in "Who's this again?" confusion. -
And just like that, I can't play a god damn game because the disc is unreadable. Now I've got to call EA tech support and bitch.

So does anyone who bought '08 actually have an answer to this yet? To give you an example of what I'm talking about, with two weeks left in the season (and a lot of teams already done for the year), there are still 7 undefeated teams this season on my dynasty including #18 Vanderbilt and unranked Colorado. The Colorado one's especially ridiculous since they've been in contention in the North every year (it's my division, I ought to know) and are only 3 years removed from a national championship appearance. I'm coming off a road win over another undefeated team in (previously #5) Texas A&M and I've got Colorado at home, so there's a pretty good chance I'll take them out, but still. It's really ridiculous how good of a season you have to have to move up the rankings in any meaningful way. If this bug's been fixed, it would definitely be a positive. With 2 weeks to go in my second year, myself (SU), Michigan, Texas, USC and Boise State are the only unbeaten teams. EDIT: And by the start of the bowls, just myself and USC were undefeated; everyone else had fallen.

Unlimited Division is the clear choice. -
It brings you to what sort of looks like the Score Summary screen. There's a field in the upper right (like the ones you see on TV drive summaries, with the little colored bars for runs, passes, and penalty yards gained/lost), a listing of the play summary (1-10 HB #3 runs for 2 yards, 2-7 QB #9 passes incomplete to WR #81, etc.) at the bottom, and along the very bottom is the same score bar as there is when you're in game. You can sim one play, or select a certain spot to sim to (either the end of the current possession, the end of the current quarter, or the end of the game; you might be able to sim to the end of the first half as well but I haven't checked).

If you can't take the Browns to the Super Bowl, just take the Super Bowl to the Browns.

I was playing on All-American, but I couldn't stop the perpetual cycle of "Run the ball, you fumble too much...pass the ball you get sacked, maybe fumble, maybe punt...fall behind 21 in the first half, have to throw perpetually (remember what passing leads to? sacks, fumbles & punts!)..." no matter how much I fucked with the sliders. It got to the point where I was throwing perfectly accurate INTs, so I knocked it down to Varsity. I'm still battling sliders....but to me, in the short term anyway, it's a lot more fun to "cruise" to a ridiculously overrated W-L record than to continually lose games in the exact same manner (turnovers lead to deficit lead to having to throw all the time leads to constant blitzing, blitzes lead to sacks (which lead to fumbles) or INTs, sacks + INTs lead to Super Sim - End of Game because I can't be arsed to play the second half when I've got 3 INTs, 2 fumbles and a 30 point deficit staring me in the face).

Vowels aren't free.... And I almost fell for the dreaded Russian Sikle. -
I'd hate to see John Fox on the block. I think he's got more than a few years left before he goes on the hot seat, considering that he let Henning go at OC and decided to try something new with Davidson, plus the fact that he took Seifert's 1-15 team in 2003 and has since brought them to two NFC title games and a Super Bowl, plus the fact that 7-9 is the worst they've been under him. He needs a particularly bad season (5-11 or worse, I'd say) with relatively few injuries for him to be in danger any time soon.

Special bulletin: "Lee Jennings" (the guy who's in the UT/OU commercials) is not his real name. Furthermore, he graduated from Baylor, not Texas.

Speaking of Diablo II, is it worth picking up? I saw a cheap copy at GameStop today, and I've only "played" it once with one of my friends a few years ago.
