Another funny part was when Michael walked in, saw the doll and sang the Princess Unicorn theme.

WWE Raw - December 8, 2008: The Return of the Slammys

In a way that is the point as mixed brand shows have a special feel surrounding them. If they were like that every week, they would get bland as well. -
I remember going to a Smackdown a week or so before RR 2000 and being totally in shock at how over he and Too Cool were live. The place erupted. They were just slightly behind Rock and the Cactus Jack appearance we got off camera. I thought for sure he was destined for big things at that time.

Discussion: The Miz and John Morrison
Bigelow34 replied to Thanks for the Fish's topic in The WWE Folder
They could just have Miz and Morrison work more singles matches but still stay together and back each other up. They can split without really splitting. They are better off together for now though anyway. They are both young and would get lost in the shuffle. As a team they are great and utilized quite well. -
Not really. Why can't it be believable that he lost all his savings in the market crash? A lot of people did. They didn't say he was dirt poor. Just that he lost all of his savings and that he can't wrestle forever.

I think RR 01 through WM X7 may have been the greatest back to back to back PPVs the company has ever run. RR 92 through Summerslam 92 gets an honorable mention as well.
-
Yes indeed, it was. Funny cameo.
-
Didn't that only happen once, with season 3?
-
Well, there are only two eps left, so either things get resolved quickly or the Smokejumpers storyline continues into next season, which is unlike the show's MO.

I have had this service since 2005 and this is the fourth straight year they have shown that Christmas special from 97. It has become like tradition to me now...like Charlie Brown, Christmas Vacation, The Grinch, etc...I think I would be upset if they didn't show it at this point. I do wish they would show other ones too though, like you said, show 2001 as well. -
They made that clear though and made it obvious he was only there because that director thought he was a good fit for that role. They aren't playing it up like he a box office slam dunk or anything.
-
OK, my bad. Just thought you were making a comparison.
-
They were also hemorrhaging money and owned by a conglomerate that wanted them gone. WWE is still making a fuckton of money and is owned by Vince McMahon who doesn't want WWE to go anywhere.
-
They need to do more of these Top 25 countdowns. Different and very interesting and they could go on for ever. Top 25 Summerslam matches, Raw matches, ECW match, on and on and on...

JR isn't even in management anyway, he is basically just another talent. To me it is no different than a Cowboys player giving information about Pacman Jones's suspension. Should he be doing it? Probably not. Is it illegal in any way? No.

I didn't realize Jarrett was on WCW TV so close to his WWF return. Not sure if he is on this new one since I haven't watched it yet, but he was on the prior week. that was a quick jump. A lot of people credit X-Pac as being the first guy to jump back to the WWF but it was Jarrett and he did so on his own whereas Waltman was fired.

I have definitely gained a new appreciation for Larry Z and (especially) Schiavone on Hour 1 of Nitro as well. I always hated them at the time but really dig them now.

The Mr. Perfect/Bret Hart one before their KOTR 93 semifinal match. Gene plays the shit stirrer and they go at it. Great stuff. "Your Dad couldn't beat my Dad!"

MyTV reaches 96% of the country which is equal to the CW. Right but a lot of MNT stations are sub-channels of other stations. In my town, MNT is a sub-channel of Fox and it's not even offered on cable unless you get the entire HD package. I'm sure the numbers will grow when the analog cutoff nears. And I think that will have a major effect on ratings as well because the time slot will vary based on the network it is airing on. In RI, it airs on the Fox affiliate at 11:30 on Friday night. If that occurs in bigger markets, it may affect things quite a bit.

I think Shawn will have a mini feud with Cade while Jericho is busy with Batista.

I think they are smart for catering to kids. They did the same thing in the late 80s and how many of us stuck around from then and became lifelong fans? They are smart to tone down now, hook them in, make some cash and then amp it back up as they become angst filled teens in 7-8 years. It may turn off some older fans, but the hardcore fans aren't going away and this way the can hook in a whole new audience that is more likely to become diehards than the hordes of casual fans that popped in during the late 90s boom.

They did the Rumble theme in 2006...they showed a lot of Rumble matches, only skipping a few here and there, -
I know this falls out of the 90s, but Raven was a 90s guy. He was over big time in early 2001, specifically around Mania and Backlash. Watch that great hardcore match with Rhyno at Backlash, Raven was crazy over with the fans. I think they could have pushed him up to IC level for a bit there. They eventually buried him enough to kill his heat and he was lost in the shuffle with the incoming WCW guys, but they had something there to build on for a brief time in April.
